My Mother in law has been using Lifeconnect 24 for quite a few years and not actually needed to use it in anger. She’s 84.
It was £44 every quarter 10 years ago, and it’s gone up gradually to £109 now.
They kept on sending information about needing to upgrade because of the digital phone upgrade, and saying it may not work. They know the equipment she has, so they should know for sure. “May not work” is not good enough.
Well after she had 3 different phone calls with 3 different people which couldn’t actually give a straight answer, she didn’t know what to do.
She rang BT who said the line is already digital and if it’s working now then it’s all ok. But Lifeconnect couldn’t understand that.
She doesn’t have broadband or an email address, so rather than waste any more time I ordered her a “Your Stride” watch. It’s only £20 a month (Including fall detection) instead of over £36, and the watch is a £60 one-off payment. And the watch belongs to you. And it works everywhere, not just at home.
She’s had it a week now and loves it. She’s tested it umpteen times all over the house and around the city and it’s been faultless. She says they answer straight away and so much faster than Lifeconnect too.
She cancelled the contract on Lifeconnect and they sent her a label to send the equipment back. No box. No bag. Just a label! So she had to go to the Post Office to buy a Jiffy bag.
I think she’s well shot of them.

I havent actually purchased anything but what i did do was cancel my contract with care line due to the fact that the machine failed and was reported which they confirmed with my recorded telephone converstation but failed to do anything about it they told me it was my responsability to chase them again.
However they still charged me for the 4 months that it wasent working they would'nt allow me to cancel unless i paid in full.
Firstly they told me it was £106.00/then they said it was £156.00/ then changed it again to £159.99 all in the space of 15 minuites bearing in mind my monthly payment was £25.00 being on an O.A.P i explained i couldent afford to pay in full they would accept half and half payments over 2 months but still had to pay the next months bill.
This reduced me to tears on the phone the call handlers had an attuide.
There was no CARE CONSIDERATION and certialy NO COMPASION and call them selfs CARE LINE i dont think so.
WOULD NOT RECOMMENDTHIS COMPANY.

The person I dealt with was very knowledgeable, helpful and clearly explained the options and what would happen next. Very professional.

Used Lifeconnect for 11 years and was ok, however pestered to upgrade to digital and had to pay £40 for the equipment. My dads renewal notice came to me in June for an end of August payment though it didn't renew until end of September. Not only this, I missed the email telling me it was increasing from £225 to £425 - utterly disgraceful. They then would not refund my £425 until the equipment was returned - that I paid £40 for less than a year ago. Would absolutely not recommend this company to anyone.

We have had and are having a really awful experience with this company. The claim we didn't cancel in November when my dad had his stroke and had to come and live with me and that still provided a service. Strange how they could provide a service to a phone that was disconnected in November... and now they are going to pursue the money owed, from an 82 year old man, who can barely walk or talk. That's such a good look for a company who provide a 'lifeline' to the elderly and infirm. Luckily, my dad has me to fight this battle for him.

The device arrived on time. All set up.
