Lanterna Education Arvostelua

The tutor we found was great , my son was really impressed because he helped him a lot ! Thank you.

Isabel was great and really helpful.

After receiving a 2 in my Chemistry exam in May, i believed I would never be able to comprehend Chemistry as no matter how hard I would try, it would just go through one ear and out the other. However, my incredible Chemistry tutor Esteban has completely changed that for me. Although I am uncertain with how my exams went, the experience of learning with Esteban has been a journey in which I have enjoyed every second of it. Esteban made these lessons seem like a casual conversation. He would listen with his fullest attention to my most stupidest questions and answer without me feeling bad about myself. I built a connection with Esteban I would never in a million years have thought would ever be possible. For this, I am and will always be incredibly grateful to Lanterna Education for providing me with such an excellent tutor like Esteban. He is truly a hidden gem. No matter the results, he has healed my previously damaged relationship with chemistry for the better. If anyone were to ask me to recommend a tutor for Chemistry, I would in the same second reply with "ESTEBAN". I have enjoyed my experience that much that I am even considering selecting him as my tutot for my Mathematics SAT prep :D 10/10 tutor

Excellent advice concerning teachers: Teachers can be swapped any time. Teachers can start right away with a possibility to teach every day (in case it’s necessary/wanted). Very useful and competent teaching!
Be aware of time differences in case the teacher is located somewhere else in the world.😛

The teachers are very nice and polite, they explain things well and never judge

As a parent, our experience with Lanterna has been wonderful from the very beginning. The team is highly professional, quick to respond, and genuinely cares about student progress.
A special thanks to Isabel, who has been incredibly kind, attentive, and supportive throughout. She managed every detail with great care and made sure we were matched with tutors perfectly suited to our needs.
Her guidance made the whole process smooth and reassuring.
I strongly recommend Lanterna to any family looking for personalized, high-quality IB support.

The communication was very smooth and easy and my son appreciated A LOT his top tier IB math tutor, Tim, who was so helpful and patient. I would definitely recommend Lanterna with the tutoring of Tim.

My tutor made me feel more comfortable in working on and eventually submitting my IA. I got all the help I needed and even more! My tutor listened to what I wanted and truly responded to my questions. Working with Lanterna was easy and efficient.

Fantastic online English course! We booked it to prepare our son for a school year abroad in England, with extra focus on science tutoring. In no time, he caught up on material and learned even more, thanks to a wonderful, friendly, and highly skilled tutor.
Everything was handled quickly, professionally, and with great care. We’re very happy with the results and would definitely use this service again!

I highly recommend Lanterna for IB and A-level tutoring for kids! The tutors are super knowledgeable and have excellent pedagogical skills. They really know how to break down complex concepts in a way that's easy for kids to grasp. Great job, Lanterna! 👍

Lanterna is providing fast and professional support for students. It is flexible and can be adapted after need and level.

Lanterna has made a really big difference to us - IB can be seriously stressful but Lanterna helps with academic progress as well as time and project management. Their mentor program is super helpful and staff very engaged and responsive. Highly recommend.

Very helpful. well organized. Tutor was responsive and helpful.

We were seeking an experienced tutor for the May exam period this year. After reaching out to customer support, the actual tutoring quality did not meet our expectations—especially considering the high price point.

For the rates being charged, we would expect a seasoned IB teacher or a tutor with significantly more experience. Unfortunately, while IB teachers are even more expensive per hour, this service did not justify the premium we paid.

I discovered Lanterna while searching online for a course to help my daughter prepare to resit her IB Biology exam and resubmit her English project. At first, I was hesitant—no one I knew had studied with Lanterna, and I wasn’t sure what to expect.

After researching further and reading positive reviews, I decided to enroll my daughter in a Biology review course and secure support for her English coursework resubmission. From the very beginning, we were guided by Francis, who walked us through every step of the resit process with patience and clarity.

Lanterna not only provided high-quality academic support, but also helped us with the logistics of retaking the exam in November - a time when very few centers in the Northern Hemisphere offer such opportunities. Even my daughter’s school was unable to provide options or direct us to a resit center, but Lanterna came through.

The results spoke for themselves: my daughter’s Biology grade improved by two points, and her English grade went up by one point—a total improvement of three IB points, which made a real difference to her final score.

What stood out most, beyond the academic success, was Lanterna’s exceptional customer service. In today’s world, it’s rare to find a service provider that is so genuinely invested in the success of its clients. Francis was always available to answer questions, offer reassurance, and ensure we were on the right track.

I highly recommend Lanterna to any IB student needing academic support, exam preparation, or guidance through the resit process. They exceeded our expectations in every way.

I used Lanterna for my IB high schooler and my middle school daughter and I have only positive things to say. My girls' confidence in the subjects has increased a bunch and they are happy to study with the tutors. These are top notch young adults who know very well their subjects, love to teach it and inspire our kids to be great students. Thank you Lanterna!

I used Lanterna for help with my IB studies during my final year, and I have to say, the experience was a bit of a mixed bag.

On the positive side, the tutor I had for HL Math AA was absolutely fantastic. He explained concepts clearly, was super patient, and gave me loads of past paper questions to build confidence before the exams. I also really liked that the sessions were online and easy to schedule — flexible timings made it easier to fit around my other schoolwork.

However, my experience with the TOK support wasn’t quite as smooth. I had two different tutors for it because the first one left mid-way, and while both were knowledgeable, I didn’t feel like I got much clarity or structure. The feedback on my essay was pretty vague, and I wasn’t always sure how to apply it. I ended up doing okay, but I felt like I spent a lot of money for something I could have probably figured out with a good guide and some teacher input.

Also, communication with the support team was a bit slow at times — it sometimes took 2-3 days to hear back when I wanted to switch my tutoring times or ask about packages.

Overall, I’d say Lanterna is a solid option if you get a great tutor and know exactly what you want help with. Just be aware that the quality can vary a bit depending on the subject and tutor. If I could go back, I might use them more selectively rather than for everything.

The second teacher was very dedicated and went out of her way to ensure the complete understanding for the material. Her follow-up for the details & giving useful insights was what defines a "professional academic".
