Brownie recipe just for you Jay:
Ingredients
Butter: 1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
Sugar: 1 cup granulated white sugar
Eggs: 2 large eggs, room temperature
Vanilla: 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
Cocoa Powder: 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Flour: 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
Salt: 1/4 teaspoon salt
Baking Powder: 1/4 teaspoon (optional, for a slightly loftier texture)
Instructions
Preheat & Prep: Heat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8x8-inch square baking pan or line it with parchment paper for easy removal.
Mix Wet Ingredients: In a large bowl, whisk together the melted butter and sugar until well combined. Add the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
Incorporate Dry Ingredients: Sift in the cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Stir gently with a spatula until just combined; do not overmix, as this can make the brownies tough.
Bake: Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out with a few moist crumbs, but not wet batter.
Cool & Serve: Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before slicing. This ensures they set properly for a fudgy texture.
Pro Tips for Success
Crackly Top: For that signature shiny, crinkled top, whisk the sugar and eggs vigorously to dissolve the sugar completely before adding the dry ingredients.
Texture Control: For gooier brownies, pull them out at the 25-minute mark; for more cake-like brownies, bake for the full 30 minutes.
Add-ins: Fold in 1/2 cup of chocolate chips or chopped walnuts before baking for extra texture.
