JD Gyms - Swindon Arvostelua 91

I used the gym in Swindon. The gym was good, but very overcrowded.

Thats not the issue I have with JD Gyms. I struggle with companies that make it very difficult to cancel your membership.

You cant go online and do it. You have to fill a form and wait for them to get back to you. If you dont give them at least 10 days (or more depending on how busy they are) then you will be charged another month.

I finally got the confirmation that its been cancelled and that no extra payment is needed, but was still charged this month. Now trying to sort this, but they are saying no payment was taken.

Always make sure to manually cancel the direct debit after getting confirmation that its been cancelled just to be double sure I guess 🙃.

Where to start! I hate to moan about the past, but JD gym Swindon used to feel quite flat and no personality, now the energy is high and the staff seem motivated! It seems there has been a shift in staffing over the last month or so and you can really feel it. You can always find equipment where you’d expect it, weights are tidied away neatly and overall the gym is sparkling. The new manager (I don’t know her name) is great, you can tell she knows what’s what. One thing I really appreciate is she’s hot on ensuring youngsters are old enough to be using the facilities, something I can’t say has always been the case… it’s frustrating being around very young children in the gym so it’s nice to know this is being dealt with. She is so friendly and patient when you ask for her help, always willing to go the extra mile. Great gym and will be staying for a long while if this energy keeps up!

DONT LISTEN TO THE OTHER REVIEWS!!! The new manager, Megan, is truly fantastic! There is a noticeable difference in the welcoming atmosphere since she took over, always greeted with a friendly smile and warm customer service. The gym is the cleanest it’s ever been and so organised! You can tell the team really take pride in the gym. Megan has personally helped me on numerous occasions with my account and is more than happy to help with any queries (even when she is super busy running round ensuring everything is perfect for us members!). The gym has started doing weekly challenges for us members to take part in which I really enjoy, it’s so nice to feel part of something and have some friendly competition with other members. Definitely recommend this gym to anyone who’s looking to be part of a fun and supportive community!

Tried to speak to the General Manager about the recent cancellation of some classes and she was very patronising. Been attending these classes for over a year and when the gym was under the last General Manager classes were hardly ever cancelled and in all but one occasion were covered. Felt as though she brushed me off and she was unable to tell me when the classes were going to be back on the schedule

Trying to cancel a membership and the company want your unique reference number sent via email when you first join. I do not have the email and no bank reference. Really making it difficult which is rather frustrating. Feels like let’s make it so difficult you give up! General manager of Swindon no help at all…

I have been a member at the JD Gyms swindon for a few months and I was happy UNTIL I received a £60 PARKING CHARGE / overstay (by 20mins).
I tried to contact the gym for assistance and although I left 2 messages - there was no response
Seems to be just another gym who apparently have sold their 'parking rights' to UKPARKINGCONTROL.COM - over and above 2.5hours :-(
On the particular day in question - I was a little distracted - feeling nauseous after an intense workout and didn't watch the clock

I have been using Gyms for 40 years and in many countries and I am a personal trainer - this is a first for me! Just another bs rule with financial consequences for clients - there are plenty of gyms in Swindon + with better care of their clients!

Great gym, with all the equipment you could ask for. Staff are extremely friendly and always on hand when you need assistance!

Gym is good, but early closing times for changing rooms.. And 1 or 2 extremely unpleasant staff.

This gym has all the equipment I need, in particular squat racks, bench and deadlift areas. Staff are friendly too. Would recommend to anyone serious about their strength and fitness.

My favourite gym! Equipment is great, not all stacked on top of one another and everyone's friendly and polite, including the staff - who are always willing to help if you need.

I've tried a few commercial gyms in Swindon and none compare for me.

Absolutely love this gym, such a vibe! I joined here back in February doing LBT classes they are the best, also have the confidence to use the gym too. Team are very friendly and welcoming.

One of the best gyms, if not the best gym in Swindon. Rarely have to wait for equipment it’s always extremely clean.

Nice open space and good atmosphere

Staff are friendly, very helpful and always on it when it comes to ensuring people have gym etiquette.

The sauna is a big plus too

Ian at JD gym Swindon is keeping the gym spotless. For the amount of people using the gym, everything is clean even the changing rooms and toilet area. He makes regular checks and it looks always as good as new. All the equipment is regularly washed. He is so committed. I used to be a member of an expensive gym in Swindon and it was dirty, and the equipment was always broken for long periods. I have never known JD to have anything out of order. Impressed!

Been at this gym for a month now after doing a 12 week intensive course elsewhere. Wanted to carry on with the training at a fraction of price to what I was paying, then got a phone call the other day to say I'd won a year's free membership as I referred others who also joined, very happy at this gym, it's well equipped the staff are very knowledgeable and I couldn't be happier. Spoke to Josh and the manager today and learnt a lot about nutrition so I will be taking their advice and changing a few things,all in all a great place to workout💪🏼

We've been training at JD Gym in Swindon since December & overall it's great. The gym is big, with lots of equipment, so wait time for machines is limited. The change rooms are well equipped with lockers & a sauna. Overall, it's great - however - if there's an area for IMPROVEMENT, it would be that there's no provision of disinfectant wipes or any other cleaning materials to wipe other people's sweat from the benches once they've sweated up a storm on them. Gross ~ but also unhygienic! As sweat towels aren't compulsory, they should at least provide us with something that we could use to make the benches clean enough to use.

Only been a member for a few weeks, but so far myself and gym buddies are loving it, we participated in the dance fit class included in our membership which was fantastic and highly recommended. I was nervous about joining the gym and feeling out of place but it’s very welcoming and friendly, I look forward to our visits.

Good variety of gym equipment and plenty of space and 24hours opening. Out of all the gyms I have been to in Swindon, JD I rate the highest.

Needs cleaning stations added.

Love the gym here. Jag is like a machine trains hard cleans hard gym always spotless.
