JD Gyms - Stoke Arvostelua 

Not bad but there is not enough plates!
or legs machines.
At least is 24/7.

The lighting is very nice, not too bright not too dark.
The lay out of good not too open good separation between main weights area and cardio.
Also good range of equipment

Amazing gym, worth for the money.

Nice, clean gym. Lots of equipment to choose from and women's only section is fantastic.

Today, the staff was lovely and very helpful.

I joined about a week ago and have had no indication to the gym evan know I got told thay would send an email out to the pt staff of any kind I thought jd would be better than outhers but not so

Where do I start! I have been a member of this gym for many years and have seen and experienced the deterioration of the service in the last 3 years at the very least.

The classes used to be really effective and enjoyable, I used to have a choice of classes in terms of times and there was a variety, but now there is barely any classes. When they have classes the times are not fitting in with people's lifestyle, hardly any doubled so that you can catch another one. They also have some at 9:30am which will never work with people who have 9-5 jobs. They they have some at 8pm which are so late...

there used be a good amount of LBT and Circuits along with ABS classes but now hardly any that work. Now I do think that there have been significant issues with staff.... there used to be good staff, now its a useless we have 'fitness coach' on classes which only means that it will be a trainer who comes and puta a few exercises together, no effort or creativity, very lazy attitude and not what a class should be. I went once and that is 30 mins i will never get back, wasted.

In relation to Staff I have to mention people who I have had the experience of attending there classes who have been good and the few that are and that is David Arnold, Paul Shaw, Prince they deliver a good class that I feel I really benefit from, the other I have very little to say.

Some instructor's are so busy doing the exercises they don't even correct your form? I used to think that this was what a class was also to get the right form but they are too busy doing the exercises themselves, couldn't care less of your form.

In relation to the lady's only there are multiple issues with this area, starting with the fact that this is lady's only but you have male staff needing to enter the area to complete checks, as much as I understand health and safety, is this not a contradiction to what you are advertising? as a religious person when your male staff enter this safe space you are compromising my diversity needs, not to mention that the only reason I am a member of this gym is because of the lady's only area! secondly you have recently removed a squat rack which was used by a lot of the women in this area, we are already minimised with access to machines therefore, taking this out and having some machine with signs of not working we are left with hardly anything which is infuriating as although we are in this space and are limited we actually pay the same as everyone in this gym.

I am not sure why you actually removed it but I can only imagine that this was the area to have space, am sure given the volume of women using the area at the same time you are pushing the safety measures. When it was raised and frustration was expressed they were not told that no one else had complained, which a lie, I heard multiple women ranting about this move finding it frustration and sexist 'women dont ned a squat rack' I also heard another five women another day complaining further about their frustration. There are so many women utilising this area, I have seen women not be able to enter, it is too small for its purpose people are practically on top of each other. I fear that it is only a matter of time before a member gets hurt.

IMPROVEMENTS

STAFF - some staff need to attend customer service training, pick up some manners too. Maybe equality and inclusion training to form some understanding of the religious consideration for 90% of the Muslim lady's that use the lady's area. Get more staff in general

CLASSES put more classes on double them to get people to have an opportunity such as circuits/abs/LBT preferrable with instructors who actually deliver good classes. as mentioned above. Consider people with jobs/kids etc..

Lady's only area;

Consider putting a smiths machine in there, also more stair master and treadmill, especially when you regularly have one out of order.
We might be lady's but we want the same opportunities as the mainstream gym. put boxes in there balls etc... the limitations are really putting people off but some of us cannot use the mainstream gym for religious, confidence etc... Now brings me to my last point the size of the area, evidently there is too many people for this small area, I would suggest that moving or expanding the area would be effective it would allow safety measures to be managed better and more equipment to enable some equality and happier customers. I would to also add consider that maybe you should be considering the gym membership price for the lady's who only use this area.

I hope to see some changes, but until then I will continue to leave reviews about what is happening in the Fenton JD gym, also women have discussed a petition for real changes.... give us what we pay for is the gist of it

Useless goin unless its at 12 oclock at night , tried everyday since i joined a week ago n managed get in there once so ill be cancelling my membership u have only 4 cable cross over machines that are never free and every other machine just has some clown on it not working out just sat doom scrolling on their phones so ya cant use the machine but neither are they that or students complaining cuz ya waked infront of their stupid camers (ban them in gyms ffs) ,dont bother even for the 10 quid first month you wont get to use the gym , puregym down the road is far less busy and has far more equipment so u can atleast train

I like the way that support members are supportive to respected customers.And also the way of keeping the gym hygiene

I used to attend this gym some years back, as far back as I was a member when it was still exercise4less, I stayed on through the transition to it becoming JD gyms. Initially I was excited for the takeover, assuming that this would mean an improvement in equipment and facilities (in line with the price increase), however these changes did not come to fruition only a change of paint colour from yellow to green. Subsequently I changed gym.

Bringing me to now, 3-4 years later, I assumed that the growing pains would be over and that the gym would've established itself. It has not. All of the equipment is the same, dated and breaking equipment that was left over from exercise4less. The equipment is showing its age, and now is visibly grimey. This would not be as egregious if there were wipes/equipment cleaning products provided as are found in many other gyms. The only change to the gym in the years since I left was an AstroTurf track in place of where a boxing ring and octagon used to be, a huge downgrade in my personal opinion. The track itself is also located infront of the entrance to the male changing room and the walkway to access the free weights, as such sled movements along the track are a hazard, many realise this and as such it is rarely used, Overall making it wasted space.

Again to continue with cleaning issues, the male changing room had a pungent odor of urine and needs a more thorough clean.

Overall, I understand and are sympathetic to the fact that this is meant to be a "budget" and accessible gym, however the subscription price is no longer representative of the word "budget" at all with membership costing around £25 p/m it is no longer a good cost to value equation.

Overall issues:
1.) Cleaning standards
2.) Dated/breaking/grimey equipment
3.)high membership price for what is offered
4.)bad parking
5.)only 2 turnstiles which become clogged with people
6.)no improvement from exercise4less

Essentially it seems as though the gym owes its success purely due to being branded "JD". There is very little merit as for what is offered at the gym other than the name and branded theme within. A shame really.

Everything goes my well apart from on same rowing machine not working for last five sessions

JD in my opinion is the best gym house you could go to. From the easy access to registration, very friendly staff, Laura(Fenton) made my induction very easy. I rate them 5⭐️🌟

I've been a member of JD gym for a few years now and I have no regrets. The latest 24hour function of the gym makes it all the better because I work nightshifts and on days when I am not working, I can go to the gym late and get my work out in. JD is a very clean environment and allows me the flexibility to pause my membership when I'm out of town.

It’s such a good gym, has everything you would need when working out.

I have a problem in my account in last one week I call on this number 914 but he pick my call.everyday I call him but not yet responded

Fantastic gym great equipment well laid out, team members very welcoming and always happy to help new starters

I cancelled but was told it’ll take 60 days to stop charging me. That’s not what was advertised. I’ll be reporting this.
