JD Gyms - Southend Arvostelua 

Great flow and a lot of space. I like that the classes are in different studio spaces and not on the main gym floor. It’s also tidy. Only thing stopping it from being 5 stars is I feel they need to upgrade a few of their machines. Overall loving it.

It was very easy to join and the price is so reasonable. The gym itself has everything I need and I particularly like the classes and the great choice. It helps having Lorraine Monte for most of them as she’s fantastic. The only reason I gave 4 stars and not 5 is the entry system is a bit of a pain, it’s temperamental. I’d prefer to have my code as a back up as staff aren’t always available so you end up waiting sometime to get in. The other thing is the temp. The hall has been freezing which isn’t ideal for body balance. If that’s turned on prior to arrival I’m sure it would be fine.

I have always liked to keep fit but find the gym hard as can't cope well with alot of people. The man I spoke to put me completely at ease and then showed me there was a smaller room to work out just for women.
After my first gym session I contacted a personal trainer for advice and direction (again something out of my comfort zone) she was so helpful and made me feel completely at ease. I feel I can go to this gym without feeling judged or nervous

The ladies area is often visited by men staff for check up. If you are religiously committed to have your privacy considered. This is not the place. Very disappointed ☹️

A really cheap membership which includes classes, what more could you ask for!

It’s so nice to have a separate ladies area. A very big gym. Nice and clean.

Joined on Saturday but my account does not work. I have to ask to enter every day so far because my account keeps getting suspended. Fed up. Great gym once I’m in but thinking of finding somewhere else if the problem is not fixed.

From my recent visits I love how the gym looks & feels.

It's a great space and lots of machines and equipment to work out on. Good martial arts space too!

All good 😊 Easy to access and use , no fuss

Being used to smaller more specialist weight gyms, I’m enjoying the spacious feel and choice of weights and machines, as well as the various exercise areas. Not tried the classes yet, but so far I’m impressed with the gym. And both gym and changing rooms are clean and well maintained.

As soon as we entered the staff were kind and helped us get into the actual gym area. The machines are all intelligently located and people are very helpful and kind

I've been using this gym for just a couple of weeks. So far I like it a lot, lots of equipment, gym is huge and great atmosphere. Just one thing that caught my eye is, there is not enough sanitising stations. In my humble opinion this gym should be 24hrs. I like to go to the gym early in the morning but 6am is not early enough for me (now I know I cannot expect them to change it just for me) and I feel they will benefit. I used to be a member of "The gym" next to Lidl and it's 24hours but is not as big and always extremely busy, it's a third of JD gym's size and in peak times can have 140 people inside and lots of people complain that is becoming too busy. So I think if they become 24hrs they will attract more members. Not here to be their business advisor 😂 but just an opinion. All in all I like this gym and I can see myself staying here after changing 5 gyms already.

Just a great experience, had to many bad experiences with gyms in the past, after 20yrs decided it was time to get fit once more.

Great place to go, staff are friendly and happy to help and advise.

Overall it’s an awesome gym! Large, lots of natural light, airy, good range of equipment. I do feel that some of the equipment needs replacement (such as seated leg extension) and also to get new equipment such as chest support t-bar row - there’s lots of empire space!
