Cannot recommend at all. Canceled my plan midway through because of “changes with the carrier.” I was not informed about this and left without a working phone. Customer support did nothing to offer to fix the problem. Also the same day activation did not work. Overall awful experience.

Worst prepaid sim card ever, don't use that !!! I activated my one month plan before coming to the United states.
No network signal. Even if restart my phone and followed all instruction on their website.... I never received a network signal since i was here. I recommend to never activate this sim card and to choose another carrier its better trust me. 👍

Obviously very busy, too busy to get their service levels correct. Let me tell you a story of a company that promotes it is there for people and then fails. Before my trip to USA I contacted J1 SIM Cards and order a SIM 3 months before the trip. It arrived, I registered it and paid for it for the date my trip started.... All Good. Then I received an email a fortnight before travelling to say the SIM was canceled and they had refunded my money, but sent a new SIM. It will be there before you travel. Of course, it did not arrive. They, therefore, have left me without a service for the trip! Great. One job and they were unable to complete it.

No signal all the time, really bad service. Even they stopped my service for more than one week.

Reliable service and very helpful and responsive throughout the pandemic.

Very much recommend. I received SIM through J-1 program and compared prices. Offer was good and they say money back if not happy. Worked fine off plane in NYC and then again in california. Got stuck in usa and was able to extend service online. very helpful.

Not recommended. Did not work at all in new York ☹️ and in Montana ☹️ and in boston. Totally waste of money

I just completed 4 months of service with J1. They even extended service 3 days at no charge because my flight was march 5 and service ended the 2nd. They did this fast for me and there was never any problem with service in detroit. My colleagues who stay continue to use. I disagree with customer below. Only I select the months when activating and can cancel whenever so cambodia customer is confused.

First let me star of me giving 0 star, I am an exchange student from Cambodia I have Been in the United state for 8 months. I have been being from j1sim for eight month now which I did not give them permission to take out automatic payment from my bank account. I also haven’t have there service for 7 months they are charge for a service that I am not getting. Customer service is no help at all. They didn’t even try to take the matter in hand and solve the problem they just keep passing on the problem back to me. This is the worst phone company I ever have work with. I do not recommend there service. This is a scam. They are taking advantage of innocent international student. Be aware!!!!!!

Good:
- Solid 4G coverage (unless in rural areas but this is no different with any other provider)
- fairly well priced for unlimited data.

Bad:
- international phone calls cost extra but apparently have to be conducted through a separate app
- I get spam phone calls from the state my number is registered to around 4 times a day (which is a lot over a year)

Really helped me during my stay. Would recommend to a friend. Great service!

My card never worked, I've paid 50 dollars for a monthly unlimited plan. Even T-Mobile employees weren't able to activate it, telephone number I was given, didn't exist in their database either. Reimbursement doesn't exist in their dictionary.

The best best service company Ive ever had in US like student, unlimited options for good price! I had service everywhere, I’ve never had any issues with J1 card. This is my third year with u guys and I’m really really happy u provide something like this. And also the best is, they provide me extra few days after my program finished, for free !! Thank you so much!

Possibly the worst phone company I have ever experienced in terms of service during my time on both coasts of America. It was absolutely terrible and in this day and age not having any service is a safety issue. The poor coverage wasnt limited to rural areas with many urban areas lacking in coverage also. I would advise people strongly not to buy.

With a Huawei Mate 10 Pro it worked excellent, I had reception at places where others did not.
I was really happy during the last 3 months!

In my opinion the reception depends on your phone too, not only the SIM card.

Finished my 1 year internship in Detroit and service worked great. WiFi was not always available and their mobile data were very dependable.

I've never been so disappointed my 2nd time calling and still didn't get any help, they didn't recognize my details but money is pulled from my account for this Sim something has to be done about the customer care line it's supposed to be helpful.
