Images they use are free on Canva and Adobe Express. They trick you into an annual arrangement of a monthly subscription and refuse to do anything about it after. I can see by the reviews here and on other review websites that I am not alone.

They will charge you after you cancel the account and refuse to refund due to "their policy"!
No matter if you don't want their service and you contact them immediately.
Sadly they are systematically ripping customers off. Hence all the bad reviews...

They took the money for the subscription. I cancelled it, but they also disabled downloads. It turns out I paid for nothing.

DO NOT even try the trial! They will charge you. Free trial is a scam. I tried to dispute the charge but they were condescending and wouldn't take responsibility for the error on their end. I'll give them negative stars if only it's possible.

They let me subscribe with an email with a mistake on it. I couldn't enter the account because I couldn't recreate the error. For that reason, I didn't receive any communication of the ending of my free trial (I subscribed with an inexistent email!) and then, when I called back, they told me that I couldn't have any refund because "they sent me an email about the ending of my free trial". Now I'm trying to receive my money back directly from the bank.

I would also like to report another practice adopted by iStock that I find unclear and potentially misleading. iStock offers monthly payments, but the service is accessible only as long as the subscription is active. If a user cancels the subscription before the end of the already paid month, they lose access to the service, despite having paid for the entire period.

I consider this policy unfair. The payment should guarantee access to the service until the end of the paid period.

Thieves. When you cancel your free trial, they don't process it so you end up paying without knowing. Then when you contact them about it, they just reply that you haven't cancelled the trial, easy business uh ?

Scammers, not following their refund policy, they said 7 days, in the first day I requested a refund, I never used or downloaded any photos from their website! they refused to refund me! awful, I strongly recommend not to use them! just scammers

Scam company, the only reason they have gotten as far as they have is because of their good domain name. turned off Auto renew and then like everyone else here got charged every month after, tried cancel with them and they wanted a stupidly high cancellation fee

So I updated the card to a new one, then terminated the card ( do not pay the fee - they legally cant charge your old card )

Its clear their business is failing, this is just a cash grab before they close their doors, they are likely loosing business to better ai generative services

iStock - You suck!!

There is no need for such an expensive service without customer support etc when there is AI now.

I would've thought that iStock were a reputable company but it's clear from the reviews here and my recent appalling experience with them that they are absolute scam artists. I signed up for a one month's subscription, immediately turning off auto renew (as I always do and have never had a problem anywhere else) and like everybody else here on Trustpilot was charged for that second month.

I used far fewer than my allotted images in the month. And absolutely zero from the second month I was charged for. I emailed the moment the charge went throught. Any other company would see that and offer a refund to a client in that situation but obviously a huge part of their income comes from scamming individuals in that way.

Truly shameful company that I will try to avoid as long as I'm in this business. I will also be recommending that everybody else does the same.

Time to raise this with the UK regulatory bodies.

Turned off auto renew. The site turned it back on and locked me into a year long commitment. Now they want me to pay more to cancel it. After I already paid $1200 for the previous year. I was a loyal customer. Scummy company with zero business sense.

S'il pouvais y avoir un moins 10 étoiles, ça ne les mériterait même pas. Ce site est une arnaque totale! Je n'ai jamais pu annuler mon abonnement durant le mois d'essai, donc: menteurs!
Ensuite, il est stipulé que si nous n'effectuons pas de téléchargements durant X temps sur leur site, l'abonnement peut s'annuler: menteurs!
Lorsqu'on leur écris, ils répondent qu'ils donnent suite avant 3 jours: menteurs!!!!!

Their subscription model, free trial, client service has a problem.
The pictures are ok, but it is not client oriented nor friendly. At all.
Very very bad experience.

They are scamming people, beware! There is an automatic button for a 1-year commitment. Additionally, when I asked to cancel my commitment, they said I couldn’t use credits, meaning I couldn’t download images, and they demanded that I pay 620 NOK! Imagine having to pay for something you can’t even use. This is the most horrible company ever. Stay away!

Total scam. Cannot cancel subscription.

Really really misguiding - and costumer service cannot help. Impossible to cancel again.

Lots of small print and no help or understanding from costumer service because "company guidelines". Would stay away.

Update: I tried contacting support again since I need to know how the billing works (I have not received an invoice and I need it. They only charged my card). But they would not help further since I had already contacted them 6 times and they now needed to fokus on onther clients.

I really advise others not to buy anything from this company. I believe support is friendly (not the last person who cut me off :)) - but they cannot help. It is scam to run this kind of misleading subscriptions.

Only good thing is I received an email warning me about free trial will soon end. But on the other hand it wasn't possible to stop the free trial anyway. So...

My bank has all the transcipt and will hopefully help me get my money back.

Very confusing pricing model & terrible customer service

Don't trust this scam company. They will steal your money. No customer support. Stay away!!!!
