Innerfrench Arvostelua

J’ai beaucoup aimé la méthode : les contenus sont intéressants, naturels et stimulants, et on apprend la grammaire dans un vrai contexte. J’ai vraiment l’impression d’améliorer mon français tout en découvrant la culture francophone.

Hugo has been teaching me french through his podcast and courses since I started 18 months ago. Much of what I've learned has been because of innerFrench. I highly recommend any of his courses to help with oral comprehension, grammar, learning about French culture and enjoying yourself while you do it.

I took the Build a Strong Core course. I absolutely loved it . It is very accessible and very interesting thematically . Definitely worth starting here if one is undecided about which course to choose. There is nothing too burdensome to complete , though I found myself redoing quizzes to try and improve my scores, which offers good repetition of the material . As an adult it really felt pleasurable and rewarding to steadily work through this course, like a nice gift I gave myself . It definitely resonated well with me, having lived in France years ago. I loved learning the “why” or the validation behind things I had indeed absorbed in oral language, but never understood completely. It’s a fabulous way to review and solidify a good foundation, just as intended. You will undoubtedly still learn new things, as well. Can’t wait to start the next course.

I really enjoyed the course and learned a lot. Hugo has a way of explaining everything well and gives a lot of useful information about the French speaking world

I wish I'd had this course decades ago when I first took French. While it was a bit challenging for my level (I wanted a bit of a stretch), his instruction is so unique and engaging for learning the more nuanced grammar rules at the intermediate level as well as improving my listening comprehension, with the added bonus of learning more about French culture. 5 star course - highly recommend!

Excellent cours, fun and helpful

I recently completed the Raconte ton histoire course. I have been speaking and studying French for many years but I made noticeable progress in my comprehension after taking this course and listening to the podcast. It is amazing how simply listening improves your language abilities. During my recent visit to France this summer I could understand nearly all of what was said to me. I also have more confidence to speak. Who cares about errors?

Brilliant course. Hugo and his team have created an inspiring and interesting collection of videos, articles, quizzes, grammar breakdown sheets. The key vocab and grammar are reinforced in an authentic and meaningful way! 5 étoiles.

This course really focuses on those tricky points of grammar faced by intermediate learners, while providing engaging exercises to test your knowledge. Great balance of materials , audio, video , comprehension and grammar

I did the course Build a Strong Core and it was one of the most helpful things I've done to learn French. I am 'stuck' in the intermediate level and the course gave me a lot of background grammar concepts that has helped my journey a lot. I feel much more confident about these concepts now that i've completed the course.
It is very helpful to have permanent access to the course as well. I've done it once and I can go back to lessons that are more chanllenging. Hugo and his team are great teachers, I couldnt reccommend it enough!

I recently completed both courses, B1 – Build a Strong Core and B2 – Raconte ton histoire, and I'd like to briefly share my experience.
I really enjoyed these courses: every lesson was interesting, I learned something new each time, and the structure was both clear and original. Hugo explains grammar in a logical, accessible way and the exercises help clarify any remaining questions. Thanks to these courses, I feel that I understand the language much better and have also learned a great deal about French culture. Having studied in different schools and with private teachers, I can say it is immediately evident that these courses are designed with real attention to learners and a genuine desire to explain.

I took this course the second time and I still learned a lot from it. The interviews are interesting and the content is well structured.
I also liked the vocabulary presented and the grammar sections (though the grammar is not a priority for this course).

Great quality content and course. It really helped me to learn the basics and core of French. The lessons are well prepared and there is human feedback if we have questions. Much recommended.

This is the best French course I’ve ever taken. It features engaging conversations with native speakers, plenty of new vocabulary, and interesting texts. A huge thank you to Hugo and the team for all their hard work

The courses are well made and interesting. They progressively help you to understand spoken French spoken at normal speed, so not slowly. The topics and interviews capture your attention and that really helps with the comprehension. The grammar is explained clearly.
The way the courses are makes it a lot of fun to study French.

Build A Strong Core is well-constructed, engaging, fun, & so easy to navigate -- it even made learning dreaded grammar a little less distressing. Hugo has such an easy, positive way of teaching language and sharing about French culture, you can't help but be interested. I really liked that I could take the time I needed, go back over certain exercises or sections, and then move on at my own pace and never feel overwhelmed or lost. He keeps it just challenging enough to make you want to keep at it. I feel more informed & accomplished and ready to go to the next level. I can recommend this program to anyone who truly wants to learn French.

I bought an offer including an extra course in addition to Build a Strong Core. Although it took me quite some time to finish the course, I found it really great. Hugo's concept of history, facts and culture together with grammar works really well in terms of motivation. In addition I absolutely love that spoken French is finally explained in a comprehensible way. It makes it so much easier to improve my listening skills.

The learning platform could use some minor polishing here and there. On the other hand questions are answered quickly, friendly and in a helpful manner.

I am usually very hesitant to buy courses online, but this one really is worth it.

I just finished this course and loved it. It is perfect for someone at an intermediate level who wants to improve their listening and oral skills in French. Hugo's stories are interesting and the lessons are very helpful for understanding the formal and informal spoken french. I appreciated his encouragement and honesty about the learning process. Just A+ in all aspects.

I recently completed both intermediate-level courses offered by Hugo on the innerFrench website (B1 - Build a Strong Core, and B2 - Raconte ton histoire), and I would like to share with you my experience.

I absolutely love both of these courses and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking to get to an intermediate level of French. I started my French journey from absolute zero back in December 2025, and I enrolled in the innerFrench B1 course in April 2026. During this time period, I was teaching myself French grammar as well as building a foundational level of vocabulary. By April 2026, my understanding of French grammar was at around A2 and my vocabulary roster was probably low A2, but my listening comprehension was not quite there. That was when I discovered innerFrench course, and I couldn't be happier with my decision to enrol. Now, after having completed both courses, I can genuinely feel the difference in my French comprehension level. I can watch " L'Agence" with no subtitles on Netflix and is able to understand 80% or more, including grammar and expressions. "Dix pour cent" is still a little difficult for me to understand due to all the slangs and expressions.

If you are searching for the difference between the B1 and the B2 courses, I would say in summary, the B1 course teaches you "intermediate-level French grammar" through interesting videos that talk about French culture. Each lesson is always followed by a series of exercises to help drill in the grammar that was taught in that lesson. In my opinion, by listening to how the grammar is used in the video, followed by Hugo pointing it out during the grammar lesson, it really helps you remember. This is basically Hugo's method of "learning French in contexte". By the end of B1 level course, you should have a solid understanding of intermediate-level French grammar. For those interested in starting that course, I highly recommend that you build a foundation understanding and vocabulary level first since the course is taught fully in French.

The B2 level course brings your French comprehension to an even higher level through videos of Hugo interviewing his friends about their journey and experience, as well as some more French culture videos. The speed is faster than the B1 level, and the French level is more natural. You learn so many idioms and expressions that are commonly used everyday, which I believe is what really improved my listening comprehension.

Overall, I really enjoyed both courses and I can't wait to start the C1 level course, Les visages de Paris. Highly recommend these to those who want to want to progress past the "intermediate plateau" and learn French in context!
