Bron and Alice at the Limerick store were so incredibly kind, helpful, and professional. I am deeply appreciative for their help earlier today.

This store is one on my favourite shops but my experience with this shop recently has really changed my perspective . I was going to PURCHASE some items from the store. I wasn’t very sure if I should buy the products. So I decided to place the products back, they accidentally dropped and caught the attention of one shop keeper. I VISIBLY place the items back. As soon as I leave I get stopped by the shopkeeper and get accused of stealing even though I placed the product back. He asked if I was buying the items and I responded with “no, I placed the product back on the shelf”, it was my mistake to place the items on the wrong area and I did apologise for that. This shopkeeper treated me unfairly, saying that the only reason I returned the product is because I wouldn’t afford it. Then starts to raise his voice asking what I took. I defensively responded “I took nothing” and I left. I was deeply upset with how I was treated, I wasn’t planning on taking anything. I will not be returning, but I don’t blame this shop at all, it’s just the disrespect I’ve received as a paying customer.

Rude staff,messy store. Haven’t a clue about record players when asking for advice. Heavy girl attempting selling me something that did not suit my needs. Golden Discs and AI had better answers than this store. Also the smell and the dust. So disappointing considering how good this store was in the 90s.

I bought a product on Feb13 at HMV Limerick, Crescent Shopping Centre.
I needed to return and, if possible exchange it, the following day.
The young man I dealt with ( I did not get a name, red hair glasses? )
I have to say he could not have been more helpful to a lady of a certain age who had no idea what was what with the product.

My experience of HMV since it returned to Ireland was excellent, they have returned to Dublin first in 2023, almost 2 years later in May 2025 they came back to Limerick, and 6 months later in November 2025 they came back to my home county of Cork.

All three stores are very good. On the morning, the Cork store opened, I queued up at 8.20am to get the Free Pop Culture Swag Bag which I got in the end, after I bought some DVDs and Blu-Rays. Friendly staff across all three stores who are always helping customers with queries or to have a chat, especially in Cork, and a wide selection of DVDs and Blu-Rays as well. A great place to buy DVDs and Blu-Rays in Ireland.

The Limerick store, staff make you feel very uncomfortable. Went in there today and all 3 where stood doing nothing at the counter talking. When I walked in the one facing me said something that made the other 2 turn and all stare at me. Clearly they dont want me as a customer, I used to go once a week to buy somethings but now I just feel way too uncomfortable to go. Dont really know what I did to make them behave like that. What I buy is behind the counter( so I know im not being accused of stealing) and Im normally in and out in less than 5 minutes.

Clearly attempting to resell damaged returned goods! Out of stock 4k steelbook came back into stock so I purchased it and noticed it went back out of stock immediately so I had the last one! When it arrived packaged with two others it was the only one badly DAMAGED along the base and Clearly NOT damaged during shipping, on this occasion anyway. These clowns 🤡 think they can resell damaged goods and the public will accept them with 20% off. I'll personally be bringing this incident to the attention of TRADING STANDARDS and hopefully HMV receive a substantial fine if others have reported similar incidents of HMV attempting to resell sub standard goods! 😡

I went to HMV shop to see what it is like and WHAT A SHOP I loved it I got a lot of good stuff the staff were very nice and if you are looking for an Nintendo Switch game it would normally cost €79.99 in a different shop but here it costs €45.00 I recommend going to this shop for some of your Christmas shopping

I recently visited the new HMV store on Henry Street, looking to buy a specific vinyl I had been looking to buy for a very long time. The customer service I received was unbelievable, not only was the man who served me incredibly friendly but he also had a full knowledge of the band I was interested in. We spoke about every concert they had played in Ireland and further, how many number 1's they have had and the influence they have had on Irish music. I read on his tag his name was Paul and just felt he deserves the credit, I've been to many music stores and have never experienced such a good atmosphere and knowledge to back it up.

Looking forward to seeing a Store opening closer to my home in Cavan

I ordered a vinyl as a birthday present on the 8th January to be delivered within 3-7 working days, it never arrived. On the website it says after 15 days to contact them if it has not arrived, I have emailed 4 times and rang 4 times since then. It has almost been two months. I have not heard anything back. Outrageous excuse for a company. I would not recommend anyone to ever shop with them. I am lucky I only spend just under 30€ but it seems others have spent more and been even more unlucky. Absolutely awful.

Hi All, while I has a similar experience to all of you at the start my issue was resolved so I hope this can be of some help.
I ordered DVDs back in January and they still had not arrived by the end of last week. I sent an email and got an automated response which was frustrating. I then went into my HMV account and wrote a message through that detailing my issue and my frustration. Thankfully I got in contact with Jane who basically in the space of 24 hours had refunded my account for all money owed and said that she was still hopeful the DVDs would arrive at some stage. The universe being a strange thing the DVDs arrived the day after I got my refund! I got back in contact with Jane who said to keep the DVDs as it's the least they can do after the long wait.
So maybe try writing a message directly from your HMV account and you might get a response from a representative which is much more helpful.

I returned a dvd as it arrived far too late. I have heard nothing since re refund. I have emailed several times and facebooked. No response. Worst store ever.

I ordered a CD 17th Jan and I am still waiting for this CD.. I paid for this CD what should I do to get money back..

Worst I have ever experienced. Placed order 28 Dec. Still processing order. No reply to email. Worst ever. Avoid

I placed an order weeks ago and got a an email advising it had been shipped on Jan 3 and would deliver within 3 to 7 days. The money for the purchase was taken on 2 Jan and no goods have been delivered.

All my emails to customer service have been ignored and when I posted on their facebook page my comments have been deleted.

I have never been treated so disgracefully by an online retailer as I have with HMV.

HMV Ireland seem to have let myself and many, many other customers down. Their website claims "Order Online with Confidence" and "Delivery in 3-5 working days" - neither statements are true. I placed my order for some Christmas presents on the 7th December and despite having tried numerous times to contact the company via their contact form there has been no reply. Woeful customer service to not have a telephone number for Ireland, as that is the jurisdiction in which they are trading. Resorted to contacting them via Facebook and someone did message me to contact them, but no reply thus far. It seems that I am not alone. I consider myself "lucky" though as my order arrived last week - 5 weeks late.... Many comments from disgruntled customers on Facebook also who placed orders before me and have had their money taken, but not received their orders. It appears that the company have time to delete Facebook comments, but no time to reply to customers. Disgraceful. Do not shop with HMV Ireland!

Like many people I still have not received DVD ordered from HMV.
Has anyone physically walked into the address given on their website?
If not, thats what I will be doing.

I worked for xtravision and hmv for 10 yrs so u think I would have learned my lesson and know what they are like! I had my doubts about ordering from them but went along and ordered a box set 26th December I received an email 28th December saying my item had shipped .. No information of where it was shipped from or what company it was shipped with. I still havnt received my item and when I try to track it the only information I have is shipped. I emailed and didn't get a reply the phone numbers are not working. I hope they don't go out of business and keep everyone's money like the shops did this time 2 yrs ago!
