We worked with a Senior Partner at their Dorchester branch (KJ). We had engaged her for support on a small piece of work for land registry.

Katherine was awful at communicating, charged for every single interaction and on top of that did not provide advice beyond mechanically executing on the scope of what we had asked (when it was more complex that we appreciated and needed proper guidance before executing).

We are now having to revise all the work having received new advice years later based on developments.

Would stay well away or question hard what they will deliver, since if you need any legal advice beyond executing a document we received no help. Disappointing since they are meant to be the experts.

Excellent service

The initial consultation with HK Laws solicitor was great and a letter was sent outlining the next steps. We paid a premium for this service. However, the family member involved said they’d be speaking to their solicitor to sort things out and we therefore put any further action on hold. The family member claimed this took place on 10th March 2026 and on that day I emailed the solicitor in question requesting a letter to be sent to the solicitor involved to confirm the action. We received no response. Then on 13th April 2026 my husband rang to request a phone call to discuss the matter again and was promised a call back. We never heard from him or any other employee so we took our business elsewhere. We also took our other business to the new solicitor. They state in their answer to this complaint that they thought the issue was on hold but we sent an emailing on the 10th March asking for action to be taken. Even my husband called for a return phone call which never materialised. Waste of space this company

Anna (and Linda) have been a hugely professional and dependable presence through a long and difficult property purchase. They showed real patience and resilience in repeatedly clarifying the correct legal position with other parties, often where it should have been straightforward. It’s been brilliant having them in my corner, and I feel completely confident they’ve protected me from issues that shouldn’t be mine to deal with.
