HealthSpring sale agent Lisa Holmes is so deceiving. We just moved to the new state and shop for a supplemental plan with HealthSpring. The agent talked us into signing up for a Medicare Advantage plan. She said how cheap ithe premium and drugs are and never mention how crazy expensive it is if my husband has to stay in the hospital or having any procedure. Now we cannot buy supplemental due to husband has a lot of chronic health issues.
Buyer beware, stay away from Health Spring.

Whatever you do, please do NOT purchase Healthspring as your medicare supplement plan. Since they bought out Cigna, I have had nothing but problems. Now all my providers give the same answer " we are showing no coverage for Healthspring" yet my premiums are deducted every month from my checking accountl. When I called Healthspring to determine why all of my providers show I have no coverage,Healthspring informs me I do have coverage it is just the Dr office using the wrong access, thus it is the providers' fault. How can I possibly teach my physicians how to access my coverage?It is not my problem nor is it all of these physicians problem, it is a Healthspring problem. This occurs over and over each time I try to make an appointment I am told "we are showing no active coverage with Healthspring". So my advice is to avoid Healthspring at all cost !!!!!

Submitted the paperwork for refund and told processing time up to 45 days. In this day and age that is a horrible target to reach. In 2026 there is no way that processing time of 45 days should ever be a target to refund a check.

I signed up with Healthspring for a Medicare Supplement plan and then cancelled before the effective date when I found a better option. I was entitled to and supposed to get a refund of the premium I paid. They said it was forthcoming. That was 2 months ago. I have called 3 times to follow up and spoken to their call center in the Philippines. I get a different answer each time. The bottom line is its been 2 months and now they say it will be another month.
These people are either crooks or incompetent --take your pick!

Worst health insurance company I have ever dealt with--1 hour hold times; they deleted all my account info and their process for re-registering is totally Alice in Wonderland. Web support has huge wait times, the tech who eventually answered is absolutely rude and offensive in multiple ways, and there is no way to contact them other than through their telephone gauntlet. DO NOT PURCHASE A POLICY WITH THIS NIGHTMARE COMPANY.

I had a simple question regarding validity of a text I received from Cigna/Healthspring. I called the number on RX card to verify. It turned into a horrendously stretched-out FEDERAL CASE with an India-based rep who kept asking me for the SAME info over and over again; reiterating what the issue was (not necessary, since I made the call); circling back endlessly; then starting the whole process over again. A simple search could have told her the number of the call was legit and it was a simple RX refill reminder. Thousands of Healthspring/Cigna clients must get this call every damned day. This info should have been at her fingertips. It was unbelievably complicated FOR NO REASON. It was like she just wanted to hear herself talk, or stretch out the call for some reason. I hung up on her when she began summarizing everything for at least the SIXTH time. My GOD!!!

Absolutely horrible service!!! My husband is still in the hospital waiting to be transferred to a rehab. He should have been in 5 days ago. Every time you call they have a different lie. Do not choose this company!!!!

Ever since Cigna Medicare switched over to HealthSpring it's been a total disappointment. Customer service is horrible and what they now approve is minimal. Do your homework before choosing HealthSpring.

This company is scamming the government they get you to sign up to them send you a credit card supposed to be for food and stuff send you a letter to go to their doctors your prescription fees go up and when you sign up they tell you nothing would change I guess if you go to their doctors they charge more so they can ad money on the card Well I didn't change my doctor and I called Medicare about the price of my prescription and I guess they got involved because I don't pay extremely high price definitely wouldn't recommend anyone joining them their crafty!! Oh been 7 months card never gets anything!!!

I bought Cigna. They changed to Healthspring. No email, no text,no phone call communication available. No single pay option or auto withdrawal plans. Never saw bill or cancelation. I found out when renewing my prescription.
When I called them, they took my money and cancelled me. Conveniently after I met my deductible. Very Predatory. I asked "why no email or text". They don't do that. I offered to pay the year out. Declined. I asked for a review. Declined.
Don't make the mistake of signing up with this company. After paying out thousands to meet deductible, I am paying cash for meds with no option of insurance.

Healthspring and especially health spring along with eye med is the worst combination of non-insurance I’ve ever had in 68 years. Add to it you basically do not ever wanna try to contact them because you’re just put in voicemail voicemail hell and only given options that they can have automated answers to. Went for an eye exam and needed glasses and it literally was going to cost me $400 more to use any of the providers they had then for me to just ditch the insurance and buy the glasses from Costco.

Every time I call in I’m told something different the least knowledgeable claim processing staff I have come across in my 65+ years look elsewhere to find a staff that knows what there doing😡🤬

They woke me up in the middle of the night with a text message at 1:26am !!! I cannot silence my phone since I need reminders for taking my prescription on time in the mornings and evenings. I'm also being treated for sleep deprivation. I could not get back to sleep. I tried calling several numbers and got no help, just a recording.

You guys are a predatory company that preys on older folks. You tell them they will qualify for things they do not qualify for to churn their accounts and get them onto your plans. You could have the best services in the world, but are such terrible people that I wouldn’t wish you on my worst enemy. There’s a special place in hell for people like you.

They are the worst company ever poor cut service, some of the benefits take a while to take effect. Did r recieve my cards till 3 wooks later . Agents are rude and hang up on you. No support from main office

Never signed up for my Medicare. All of a sudden I got 2 bills one for medicare supplement for $314 then I got a second bill for $125 for dental vision and hearing I never signed up for these. They were marked just past due. I called the company they claim I had a contract. I asked him to send me a copy of the signed contract. They couldn’t do it because they don’t have a signed contract. This is a fraudulent company because that was 36% of my Social Security. They are not cheap. They are fraud. Do not use them.

Called to ask a simple question while my application for Medicare supplemental insurance was being processed. Was on hold for over 30 minutes. When someone finally answered I was so mad that I demanded they cancel my policy. After being transferred twice I finally got it cancelled before it was effective. My past experience with Cigna had been good, but they seem like this Medicare Supplemental Insurance is a new market for them, and they have insufficient resources to handle the volume of calls. I'm sure they are glad they rebranded everything to this new made-up name: HealthSpring, so not to damage the Cigna brand, which WAS highly respected at one time.

0 rating if possible. Cannot set up account on phone or tablet??? Yep, that’s right! Must use a PC to change birthdate.

First let me start with if I could have given a 0 stars I would have. Send them a check to pay my fees of $262 and got a call from them saying I did not pay. Contact the bank and healthspring(garbage) and they told me that they cash the check but didn't know where the check or money was. Then they wanted me to do the leg work to find it. Customer service was the worse I have ever dealt with from the bottom to the top. Would go without insurance Before would use them again.

I have had nothing but frustration ever since I have had Healthspring! Very poor customer service plus you can’t get on their App.. the list goes on and in!I can’t wait until the end of the year I will definitely be switching to another plan!
