Aetna Medicare ppo is the worst insurance I have ever had. They charge retirees way too much and did not work with me when I filed a grievance - they did not work with me. Other insurance companies charge less for same procedures.

They denied my claim for a realign for my upper denture that’s 3 years old for the reason it’s been less than 6 months my insurance didn’t even cover my denture when I originally got it in August of 2023 I will be appealing and sending proof from aspen dental where I got my denture from

So here we yet again with a major insurance company playing GOD with my health ! This time it has to do with my heart ! You know that organ in your body that keeps you ALIVE and yet for some reason Aetna is denying a critical test called an angiogram I don't need to tell you what it's for because you folks know. And then you guys go out and hire a third party to make decisions regarding my heart just because they think they know more about my heart than my heart doctor does who went to school for just that AND does this for a living ! How dare you play with my health like this....... 1st you make me pay my premium to you directly AND then you take away my extra benefits card ! And now this What in the "sam hell" did I do that is so terrible that I have to be treated so badly by your insurance company ?????? It's like you guys are sitting in your Ivory Towers throwing darts at a dart board and then saying let's pick on poor Gary Potter he doesn't have enough money to fight us so let's go after him and make his quality of life so bad that he passes and we don't have to pay anymore of his claims (how disgusting) I'm seriously one step away from contacting our attorney as well as the local media and anybody else that will listen !!! I suggest that you sit down with all of the board members of Aetna as well as the CEO .......................
The ball is in your court and I strongly that you get it together and stop playing GOD with people's lives

Most difficult to work with . I called about prior authorization denial. They said it was determined by Novologix so I asked their number. I called them instead but just find out that’s not correct number. Called Aetna again and they couldn’t find number either.

Difficult to deal with. List of providers changes too frequently. They said I was paying for dental insurance but it turned out to be one of those discount scams and they didn't save me any money. Careington is their dental "insurance" contractor and a dental receptionist said that they are a difficult company to work with. Customer service outsourced to Asia. I asked for information about what my plan actually covered and they didn't give me anything.

If I could give these horrible people even worse review like negatives I would they deny my surgery because they say my skin isn't hanging enough.Lol I lose all this weight in over two years no drugs,no expensive bariatric surgery,and save them money,and they still screw the consumer, No wonder incidents happen with that CEO of United Healthcare,very sad but reality is people are not going to take it anymore,these corrupt corporations must be stopped and be held accountable and Aetna is by far the worse, so tell your employer or whomever is buy there Healthcare insurance from responsible consumer orientated companies that are not completely profit driven,Steve Nelson the CEO of Aetna made over 20 million in 2025,because if denying coverage like mine,shame shame shame.So Sir with all your earnings do the right thing and pay for my procedure, u can afford it!!!.

I have read your reviews from others but have not seemed to have had these problems. My satisfaction is high although I do admit there have been changes that I do not appreciate, which I believe have not been Aetna's fault but rather pharmaceutical. So far, this has only affected my knee gel injection.

I THOUGHT CVS HEALTH AETNA WAS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY FOR ME. THEN I WENT ON A MEDICAL LEAVE. ATTEMPTED TO RETURN WITH TEMPORARY REDUCED SCHEDULE IT WAS A REASONABLE ACCOMODATION WITH BOARD CERTIFIED DOCUMENTATION KIRSTEY DENIED IT EVEN THOUGH THEY HAVE ACCOMODATED FOR OTHERS. THEN THREATENED TO FIRE ME FOR MONTHS. EVERYTIME I WROTE A LETTER TO THE CEO AND THEY WOULD STOP BUT WHEN I TRIED TO COME BACK THEY FIRED ME. THEN WHEN I APPLIED FOR UNEMPLOYMENT THEY LIED ON THEIR APPEAL AND SAID I QUIT. THEY ARE DISHONEST! VERY DISSAPOINTING. DO NOT WORK HERE DO NOT SHOP HERE THEY ARE NOT GOOD PEOPLE. JENNY G

One star seems really generous. constant mistakes over paperwork. Lying about calling providers for you, giving inaccurate information on who is in network. Can't make this stuff up. Wish my company other any other health insurances plans, wow what a disaster

Since 2026 Aetna has spiraled downward and I’m sure it’s due to increase use of AI and not human workers. I’ve never in 18 years have had any issues as I gave in the last 2 months with the amount of denials. The staff is helpful but can only do so much so the patient is stuck doing all the leg work for denials. We should be compensated for doing Aetnas job. Something has to give bc more and more family and friends are talking about dropping insurance and going self pay! I honestly will be looking into this bc paying a monthly premium for the amount of denials is overwhelming, too expensive and time consuming. I am being denied a 44k surgery bc I didn’t have referrals called in for pre and post op meds while I was admitted when referrals were called into both surgeons. As a surgery patient it is physically impossible with IVs in calling your primary provider for every pre med you’re given, every pa, anesthesiologist, fellow, consult and post op meds while you are given. Aetna has become a circus of clowns running their claims with no common sense! Prior to surgery I made it a point to inquire what I needed with Aetna and confirmed a referral on file to both surgeons ✔️, an in network facility✔️ and confirmed no out of pocket financial obligation ✔️….all was a go even on the hospitals end when they verified or they would have notified me in advance of my financial obligation. Now Aetna is denying a 44k surgery….well they can take me to court if the appeal isn’t accepted bc I’m following everything according to my benefits and what I was told by Aetna and the hospital! These insurance companies need to be investigated for fraud and illegal activity

I’ve called twice to get assisted with finding therapy providers, either full coverage or minimal coverage. I spoke to representative named Thomas and every time I informed him of what I needed help with he would hang up on me.

Had no other option but Aetna as my other plan left the county. No medical problem yet but customer service truely bits the waszoo. Don't speak proper English so need a translator. Their benefits card is only good at CVS store which are super high in their pricing. I have to get out of this

Re: Aetna CVS Mail order Pharmacy-
I am super stressed 4 weeks after my heart attack. I called a week ago. I wanted to process my Plavix Rx 2 days early so I don't run out of this drug which protects my cardiac stent. The technician refused due to "Corporate rules". Are there no compassionate humans left in decision making? Disgusted.

I have 2 cervical herniated dics that I have been out with for 4 months . I am in severe pain!! Migraines and can't drive because it pulls on my neck. I have 2 more short term disability payments and they have denied my surgery. It is insane that someone behind a desk without a medical degree gets to decide how my life is impacted by not having surgery to be able to work again and just functioning normal everyday task. I can't even lift my left arm because my c56 and c78 are herniated pressing flatly on the nerve. They want thier payments every month out of my chalets but when I need to use them for surgery they tell me it's unnecessary. So they also decide i can't work because I have to lift 30 to 70 pound boxes everyday for cafeteria manager for the school system. The Better Business Bereu should shut them down for defrauding their customers. They get rich and line their pockets while they ruin your life!!! They are the worst insurance company i have ever dealt with!!!

When i first signed up with Aetna prescription plan I asked how much my medication would cost. I was quoted a price for each. I switched from my previous prescription plan from another co. I just got my medicine filled for the 1st time using Aetna I was shocked at the price. I quickly called Aetna and they said I had to reach a $615 deductible first. Once I met that deductible my medication would be the price I was originally told. I told the representative i wasn't informed about this deductable when I first signed up in dec 2025. He apologized that I wasn't informed. Needless to say i was very upset about it.

I called in asking for information about how to log in. They asked me for my member ID, which I didn't have, which is why I was trying to log in in the first place. They ended up yelling at me, telling me that I was wrong and I needed my member ID, and we kept going in circles for about 30 minutes.

They say they have an eyewear benefit, but it is a complete lie.

Aetna gave me a health card with out of order toll free numbers so when the providers or the customer called they couldn't get through to them and then when we did get through by looking up another number for the pharmacy the pharmacy people told the providers that I didn't have Aetna insurance and they started to charge me and that sent me high bills why did I buy plan n and get these high bills I feel Aetna is a fraud I've been trying to call Edna for 3 months and every time I called the phone number the phone numbers are not in service why did I pay $1,200 for a year and it doesn't even work a very dissatisfied senior citizen here.

Poor customer service! Horrible transportation service . Left stranded at hospital in severe pain , waiting 6 hours for a ride home from another city that never showed . Also, left waiting to go to doctor after post-op in a another city. My health and well-being were both in Jeopardy here both times .Had to pay for my own way through Uber and Lyft both times following major surgery . Aetna refused to compensate me.
Incompetent dental services. Dentist office abused insurance and my credit card selling services and products that were not needed or were supposed to be covered .Untruthful about food benefits following hospital stay for major surgery. Refused to allow continued home physical therapy after complications from major surgery for a disabled person With low vision .Clueless and careless, cold. Do not waste your money with this insurance company. Still fighting for my money that was taken from me by a crooked dental office. It's a merry-go-round for 6 months now. When you tell them you've been in pain and you're suffering they just want to get off the phone .Beware

My medicine was due on Friday morning,
Aetna would not even let me get a few!
I had to go with all weekend without because of these suckers
