My experience as a patient of a CRS-HIPEC surgery was extremely satisfactory at Wellington Hospital. The doctors, the nurses, the multidisciplinar team, the reception team all knowledgeable and professionals. That experience was incredible, especially during a difficult surgery. My doctor recommended and arranged for my surgery to take place at HCA after I had a terrible experience with another hospital during a previous procedure. The difference was remarkable.
The HCA team delivered outstanding medical treatment alongside compassionate, attentive nursing care. I was also very impressed by the exceptionally high hygiene standards and the clean, quiet private room, which allowed me to rest comfortably and recover smoothly.
Overall, a very good experience and high standard of service.

This has been a very worrying time for us in trying to find out why our son has not been well and the staff were all so kind and caring during the day of his procedure. The care was excellent and the nurse was very attentive and caring. The staff were extremely efficient and I was incredibly impressed.

Incredible care. From the moment you step inside, greeted beautifully and directed to where you have to go. The nurses and reception staff are lovely and my consultant put me at ease, was charming, professional and explained everything clearly. Entire process from start to finish was efficient and a joy.

The patient-facing staff and facilities are first-class. The administration involved prior to seeing them is tortuous - I lost count of the number of times I had to fill in a Patient Admission / Registration Form, each of which was the same and each of which suggested it would take up to 30 minutes to complete.

The Christie Private care team are simply amazing. I could not have wished for better care over the last six years. If anyone is unlucky enough to need cancer treatment I hope that you are lucky enough to get your care and treatment at The Christie Private care. A special shout out to my Oncologist Dr Chittalia for always taking time to answer my questions and filling me with confidence in my treatment. Katie Waller my specialist breast care nurse for always being there with a hug and understanding and Jane who makes it nearly a pleasure to have my blood taken. The whole team have treated me with care and respect at all times and I can not be more grateful.

After more than 10 years of ongoing health problems, multiple surgeries and unfortunately some very difficult experiences within the NHS, I made the decision for the first time to go private and have my surgery at The Harborne Hospital. I can genuinely say it was one of the best decisions I have ever made.

From the moment I arrived, I felt completely at ease. Every single member of staff I encountered during the two days I spent in the hospital treated me with kindness, dignity and compassion. Everything was explained to me clearly, I always knew what was happening with my care, and for the first time in a very long time I felt listened to and safe.

The hospital itself is beautiful and my room was comfortable, private and incredibly well looked after. However, what truly made my experience exceptional was the people.

I especially want to recognise the wonderful nursing staff on Ward 2 — Mohammed, Misha and Emmanuel. I honestly cannot put into words how caring and attentive they were. Nothing was ever too much trouble. They checked on me constantly, reassured me when I needed reassurance, and equally understood when I needed to be left to rest and recover. They made what could have been an incredibly frightening and difficult experience so much easier.

Their compassion wasn’t something that felt forced or simply part of their job — they genuinely cared. I will always be grateful to them for how they looked after me during those first difficult days of recovery. I sincerely hope The Harborne Hospital recognises what an incredible nursing team they have, because staff like Mohammed, Misha and Emmanuel are an absolute credit to the hospital.

My consultant has supported and followed my care throughout the entire process, and my anaesthetist also made sure I understood what was happening and kept me informed. At every stage I felt that my wellbeing mattered and that I wasn’t simply another patient.

After spending so many years feeling anxious around hospitals because of previous experiences, I cannot explain what it meant to finally feel safe and cared for. This experience has completely changed the way I feel about receiving hospital treatment.

Hopefully this surgery now gives me the opportunity to finally recover properly and move forward with my life. But one of the biggest comforts is knowing that if I do experience any problems, I feel completely confident that I can go back to this team and that I will be listened to and looked after.

If anyone is considering treatment at The Harborne Hospital but has doubts or feels nervous, I would wholeheartedly recommend them. Your care genuinely feels like their priority.
