Jordan M has helped me set up my plan. I’m pregnant and he has helped me out a lot and explained everything to me properly.

This company *will not* let me unsubscribe or quit from their system no matter how many times I ask. I have been trying to stop them bothering me for almost 6 months now.

A long, long time ago I used some kind of benefit through Hapi to make a single purchase, connected to my partner's membership.

After this I got fed up receiving promotional emails and account messages, so I closed my online account while doing a bit of digital housekeeping. To my surprise, they continued to send me promotional emails even though my account was closed. These did not have any kind of unsubscribe option in them, which they should do.

So I asked them to unsubscribe me by email.

Their totally unhelpful team repeatedly demanded all sorts of completely irrelevant personal data like my payroll number, DoB, postcode, workplace - just to unsubscribe me from marketing communications.

I pointed out to them this it is against their GDPR obligations to erect all these barriers to just getting off their email list, and that I did not want to share any personal data with them beyond what I had, and they said they removed me.

For a while I stopped getting messages.

Now a few months later, it starts again - I am getting account related messages about the holiday season. What on earth?? This is for a closed account, where I have repeatedly asked for all my information to be removed from their system.

I emailed them almost a week ago to ask why this happened, and all I get is a *daily* auto-response - we are very busy, we're sorry we haven't replied.

I tried to look up the email contact for their privacy officer on their privacy policy, but the link doesn't work.

My honest impression is that these folks just do not know what they are doing, it's a really unprofessional experience, and I would think hard before signing up with them and giving them any of your data.

Voucher did not work, then kept being promised a refund which is like getting blood out of a stone

Odeon cinema vouchers through Hapi are a con.

Spent £12 per ticket through Hapi (selecting my local cinema and a weekend ticket) and when I got the code and used it on the Odeon website they wanted an additional £5 per ticket. The cost for the tickets directly from Odeon was £13.95 so using Hapi would cost me £3 more per ticket. Tried with another seat type and it had a similar issue (£9.95 directly or £13 total with Hapi). I had checked the T&Cs of the tickets and there was no mention of restrictions on the seat types at my local cinema. Plus given that it makes you select your cinema you'd think they'd adjust the prices based on the actual cinema prices? There was no way of knowing about this additional cost as it isn't visible until AFTER you've input your voucher code (and it's not a booking fee).

Hapi are refusing to give me a refund for the tickets which are clearly useless and not an actual benefit. Dreadful service and I won't be using them again.

*Update 17/01/25: I have emailed almost 2 weeks ago and not received a response so don't be fooled about their offer of support in their reply to my review*
