they lie about assessment being free on site. If you talk to them they say the visit is chargeable meaning whether they do the job or not
they also only do jobs by the hour meaning they overcharge by prolonging the job unnecessarily. If they are profesionals they can estimate the time required and give a fixed quote
you'll waste your time with them if money is a concern

Good afternoon,
We are sorry that you were confused by the wording on our website. While we are happy to offer free quotes for the sort of work such a thing is appropriate for, a new boiler installation for example or the renovating of a bathroom, for a tradesperson to travel across London to diagnose a minor heating issue or leaking tap for free would be the behaviour of a charity rather than anything approaching a reasonable business model. If that is not obvious then please suggest how the wording on our website could be changed, to save anyone wasting their time.
Your second point however is simply not true. We do charge by the hour for simple jobs, with any materials used being charged in addition of course, but any work that can be expected to take longer will be assessed and a no obligation, fixed price quote provided. That quote would be open to discussion, there being no sense in starting any work where either the customer or tradesperson is unhappy with the situation.
Had your review of our services, which you have not actually used, been clearer then we may have been able to identify and reach out to you in order to see if we could have come to a mutually agreeable solution. But such is the way of online anonymity.
