I contacted Hallo Flooring for a quote to repair laminate flooring damaged by tenants moving heavy furniture. I was transparent and shared details openly — the tenants were included in the email — so I could provide accurate information to them and the deposit scheme. I also requested two other quotes for comparison.

To my shock, this provider stated the scratches were pre-existing wear and tear — completely undermining my claim for no valid reason. I have independent reports confirming the damage. He never visited the property nor had any prior contact with me. The floor was in perfect condition with no scratches at check-in, and extensively scratched at check-out. This is fully documented in the independent check-in and check-out reports. I do not know this man, I never met him, and I simply asked for a price. I cannot understand why someone would deliberately undermine a legitimate claim in this way.

The tenants never disputed the damage, yet now I fear the deposit scheme may reject my claim. I am left feeling confused, disappointed, and deeply distrustful. I am not questioning his workmanship — I have no basis to — but his conduct was truly shocking. I would urge others to be extremely cautious and avoid him!

We’re should I start Steve came to our property to give us a quote, seemed very professional at the time. We was happy with price so placed order with no concerns. The day came for our shutters to be fitted Steve turned up with his wife Debbie I was greeted by a totally different person.
There was no hello they entered properly with no manners or thought for my belongings throwing empty boxes all over my leather sofa. Once shutters was fitted I noticed that the shutters had faults. The bottom shutters had been measured wrong by Steve, I mentioned this and he already know but I could tell he wasn’t going to tell me. I was left with trim cracked, screws through window ledge sticking out, which my grandchildren could hurt themselves on.

The whole job was just a shambles. He had said he would replace the shutters he measured wrongly and would take 10-12 weeks for him to get them. We ended up waiting over 4 months for replacement, the day he came to fit replacements was the worst of all he was aggressive and very rude to us like it was our fault he was back replacing them when he was the one who measured wrong. I asked him if they was correct now and got ignored, he started hammering and drilling hinges on my solid oak floor which he scratched after doing one so went out on drive. The new frame was damaged when he was fitting it due to him slamming the door into frame which didn’t fit.
We offered for him to put it right and he said he had got a lot of work on.

A few days later his wife called to ask what had happened on the Friday when Steve came so we explained and sent her all the pictures , Steve wasn’t happy with this so he phoned back and started swearing and being aggressive on the phone.

The window shutters cost over £3000 and they have offered £150 compensation which I think is a cheek.

Great service done by great people. Can’t recommend enough!
