I had purchased a sofa from Havertys and purchased a Guardsman warranty thru them. My sofa squeaked when sitting a few months back. We called them and they sent out a technician who sprayed WD40 and left.
A couple days later it squeaked again, so I contacted them again, and 2 months later they just sent me a NOREPLY email saying that our plan does not cover Spring issues!! OH really? Why did it cover the first time! Sorry excuse for company!
Worst company
Worst company, i have furniture insurance with them, there technition mentioned that your sofa will b pickedup for repair. And in one week i receive email that claim is denied. Plz dont waste money on this company.my furniture is purchased from perfect home. They will sell you insurance and will not tell you that guardsman has third party who deals with claims. I had to put a star so I give -1001 !!!! stars bought 3 guardsman plans put in claim on the day furniture arrived because recliner was dropped by delivery people and it was lopsided kept getting the run around after numerous calls then was told claim was denied because i didn’t send copy of receipt which i did because i took screenshots of every step when i submitted the claim but was told if i resubmitted the claim it will be denied again because they can’t reopen a denied claim asked to speak to a supervisor or manager was told non on duty i can leave a message for a call back kept calling and she kept transferring me to leave a message after 4 tries and 2 months got no callback!!! called the military exchange to let them know they should not offer guardsman to us military personnel!!!
Guardsman is NOT dependable
Guardsman is NOT dependable. I had a claim open with a technician, MR THO…today to arrive between 9 am / 1 pm- I have been at my home all day waiting- NO PHONE CALL, Was told the tech took a photo of my house, which he probably did that to cover the company- No knock on my door, no doorbell ring!

The person was nice but told me they are handled in order received and gave me no time frame Not a week a day or a year. I guess I will call again and then post my next review I am still hopeful and if it works out I will update my review.
Worthless furniture protection…
Worthless furniture protection company!! We had a switch on our Aviator reclining sofa. My husband figured this out on his own. We contacted Haverty Furniture, where we bought this piece of crap, and were told we needed to contact Guardsman. We got online, put in a work order, and did not hear back from them, no email or phone call. We decided to call them after 2 weeks of waiting, and I am sure we were calling the Philippines because she was extremely difficult to understand. This phone call did initiate a message that a repairman would be coming to diagnose the problem. He agreed with my husband's diagnosis and said he would order a part and have it shipped to us. A week later, I received an email that the repairman could not make the high-quality repair and that our claim had been sent to customer service, and we should hear something back in 30-45 days. Meanwhile, we a stuck with a reclining sofa that does recline. We again called Guardsman and got the complete run-around. We got fed up, called Haverty's customer service, and paid for the part ourselves.

Guardsman made it impossible to make a claim. The website to submit an online claim would not upload pictures. I called and they said the pictures needed to be PDF. They were PDF. Our IT person at work could not even get them to upload. I called again and asked if there was another way that I could submit the claim with pictures because the representative on the phone could not give me any help and kept saying that he did not know. My IT person got on the phone with Guardsman and could get any technical advice and could not offer any assistance on how to solve this issue.After asking Guardsman several times if I could file the claim by fax or another way, he reluctantly said he would send me a paper form to submit. Of course he did not send it for a long time which caused me to be out of the 30-day time for submitting documentation.
I called Guardsman again and got a second representative who told me to just send the form by mail "with no documentation." That if they needed documentation, they would ask for it. Of course I sent full documentation and pictures. They do not give out their fax number and I had to mail it to a PO address. I knew I missed the deadline because conveniently they did not get it to me and the only option was mail. I sent it priority mail anyway. I even asked the representative if Guardsman was a legitimate company and she couldn't answer.
Furniture companies or whoever else uses Guardsman should not offer it as they are in the business of not paying legitimate claims.
I had to give it one star because I could not move forward with this review unless I chose something. They they deserve NO stars. Guardsman notified me that they would not pay my claim because it did not get to them before the 30-day deadline. I did call the company I bought the furniture from and advised them that they should not be promoting or offering this insurance.
Wast of money
Absolutely worthless refuses to pay for damage. A total waste of money. Reported damage and was told it was not covered even though pet damage is covered.

Guardsman has not even responded, negatively or positively to a warranty request submitted 3 months ago. Request submitted in June 24, it is now August 24. What more can I say!
This company is HORRIBLE
This company is HORRIBLE! Do not waste your money! They are difficult to contact. I've stayed on hold for more than 45 minutes each time I've had to call. They do not fix or replace anything and moreover they do not get back with you. I am so sorry I purchased a policy and will never do this again. I'm urging all my friends and family to not purchase policies with Guardsman.

I am extremely disappointed with Guardsman. They are nothing more than scammers who take your money and provide no real help when it matters. Their insurance is a complete joke. When I needed to make a claim, they refused to cover it, hiding behind technicalities despite the clear evidence I provided. Their customer service is unresponsive and dismissive, showing absolutely no concern for their customers. Buying their services is an absolute waste of money. I strongly advise anyone to steer clear of Guardsman don’t make the same mistake I did.

If I could give this company a zero I would. I agreed to get the extra insurance on my furniture from Havertys through guardsmen and it has been a big waste of time and money. Every single claim I have submitted to them they decline and say it’s part of the wear and tear. When I went to Havertys, they guaranteed me that this covered almost every issue I would have with furniture. Unfortunately, it does not cover anything. I filed a better business claim and they do not care! They just keep on saying nothing is covered. Do not ever Buy guardsmen insurance on anything!

I called Guardsman today and they said that there was nothing they could do, i was told that I had 7 days from the time I noticed the infraction with my furniture to contact them I paid for a 5 year warranty that is useless because I noticed it on the 1st of February and my schedule didn't allow me to contact them until the 14th this is a bogus company and they are getting rich by scamming the consumer, I suggest that everyone stay away from warranties period. They really don't serve you.
Quick repairs
After reading all the bad reviews, I felt compelled to share my story. I had my recliner fixed quickly. I think the problem you may run into is if they can’t get parts. I purchased my recliner through Havertys and had no problems. Hope this helps

SCAM SAVE YOUR MONEY
Please whatever you do, do not buy this protection plan. Customer service is a nightmare and they don't follow up on any claims. My claim was denied even though I looked up the policy on the website and it says it is covered. I called to check the status and they told me they sent me a denial email that I never got but somehow got all the other emails. They said mine only covered food and beverage and biological stains but the salesperson who sold this to me told me otherwise. The website also mentions other covered stains but refused to help. This is a scam.

I took their protection plan through one of Store and in between their contract with Store was changed. when i claim my service request for Recliner, they refuned my protection plan money back. One of account manager share their hidden clause which i never received in past

My experience with them was a nightmare
Do not pay a single penny for this company. It is a scam. You can never claim anything back from them. They make it EXTREMELY difficult for you to get in touch and to get anything back from them. AVOID at all cost.

Absolute toilet, waste of money and not fit for purpose.
Had an engineer out that wrongly diagnosed my recliner sofa so had to start another claim, still awaiting a part after four months. I've continuously chased and got told this morning I'll be waiting another six weeks as there's been a delay on the delivery/parts.
Absolute waste of money and I'm on way to furniture village now to speak to the branch manager
