I would give GS1 UK 0 stars if I could. In my opinion, GS1 take advantage of having no competition and charge ridiculously high yearly membership fees for barcodes (randomly generated numbers) which can only be RENTED from them.
I honestly cannot understand how GS1 is allowed to operate as the 'only official source' for barcodes, particularly EAN codes for selling on Amazon. It gives GS1 the extremely unfair advantage of being able to charge ludicrous yearly membership fees for a bunch of randomly generated codes which eventually become outdated and useless, but you still have to pay for them.
GS1 UK should not be allowed to charge such high prices and go completely unchallenged from any competitors. It's unethical, unprofessional and simply unfair. I'm sure GS1 UK would introduce more fair and reasonable prices if they had some competition.
I think GS1's 2 star TrustPilot rating says it all. I would not recommend them to anyone. Trust me, you would be better off buying cheap barcodes from another source. GS1 adds no value to the marketplace and exists solely for their own financial gain. It's only a matter of time before Amazon and other companies recognise this. GS1 will have some real competition soon enough,.

After paying £142.80 (every year!) I am allowed to download... 3 barcodes, or I have to pay more. Thank you for your generosity, I really think 3 barcodes for £142.80 is way too many (£47 for a barcode is unheard of! Surely even Lidl charges more).
I bought a membership to sell on Amazon and it was useless. I emailed them and they admitted it didn't work and canceled my membership, but "forgot" to refund me! I kept emailing them, but I didn't receive any answer! Scammers!
Do not waste your money on an utterly rubbish and pointless barcode service! I paid upfront for a 1 year subscription for an amount of barcodes to use for my business only to find that Amazon not only didn't recognise the barcodes provided by GS1 but removed my listings and actively blocked them! GS1 is a complete waste of time and an utter con! They even tried to get me to pay for another year upfront which is a disgrace! My membership was cancelled and whilst I've lost a year's subscription which I paid with NO refund, do NOT waste your time with GS1 and AVOID them at all costs! A truly rubbish service!
Bought a GS1 last week. Money has left my account but no email and no log in. Still no barcodes. Ive contacted them twice and nothing. Definitely a fraudulent scam. DO NOT USE.
Its a racket which you may not be available to avoid if you sell somewhere that requires GS1 EANs. No way should maintaining a database of EANs justify these high prices, and don't be conned into paying their high prices for barcodes. There are websites where you can input your EAN and get the barcode for free.
Good experience - quick support and helpful. They are clear about pricing/cancellation etc, so if you had debt collectors, it was likely an oversight on your part.
The website always seems to be down. Very unreliable, wished there was somewhere else i could get EAN's from! When you run out of numbers they advise you have to wait 48 hours to get another 10,000 so the business comes to a stop! You should be able to just add them online, but then again this goes back to my first point!
