I scheduled my move with Good Greek…
I scheduled my move with Good Greek Moving & Storage in May 2026 and paid the required deposit. My move took place on July 31, 2026. Unfortunately, after reviewing my final invoice carefully, I discovered that I had been overcharged, which significantly affected my overall experience with the company.
The movers arrived around 9:00 a.m. I had approximately 20+ boxes along with normal household furniture, including three wall units, three recliners, a dining room china/glass cabinet, a king-size bedroom set, dressers, nightstands, a headboard, an armoire, a small dresser and office desk, and two televisions. The furniture was wrapped and padded for transportation.
It took approximately 3½ hours to load the truck. The drive to my new location was approximately 1½ hours, and the movers informed me that they would also be stopping to get something to eat.
When they arrived at the new location, I was presented with an invoice totaling more than $2,800. The movers contacted their boss because they apparently thought I was upset about the amount. During that conversation, I was told that I had to pay the bill before my belongings would be unloaded from the truck. At that point, I felt I had little choice but to make the payment because my belongings were on their truck and I needed them unloaded. I paid the amount requested, and the unloading itself took approximately another 2½ hours.
On August 14, when I finally reviewed the invoice closely, I discovered that I had been charged two hours of overtime at $253.50 per hour, along with an $83.61 credit-card fee, bringing the subtotal to over $2,970.49.
What concerned me most was the overtime charge. I had been required to pay the invoice before the truck was even unloaded, yet the invoice already included two hours of overtime. I contacted Good Greek and questioned how overtime could have been charged in advance when the unloading had not yet taken place.
After I raised the issue, it was determined that I had in fact been overcharged. My biggest disappointment is that no one from the company contacted me proactively to explain that an overcharge had occurred. I only learned about the billing error because I reviewed the invoice myself, questioned the charges, and demanded that the matter be investigated.
Customers should be able to trust that the final amount they are required to pay is accurate, especially when payment is demanded before their belongings will be unloaded. I strongly recommend that anyone using this company carefully review every line of the invoice, including labor hours, overtime charges, and credit-card fees, before making the final payment.
While I appreciate the physical work performed by the moving crew and the care taken to wrap my furniture, the billing experience and lack of proactive communication regarding the overcharge left me very dissatisfied. I expect the money I was overcharged to be refunded promptly and believe the company should provide a clear explanation of how the overtime charge was calculated in the first place. I would not recommend Good Greek to anyone, the only good thing about this company is the trucks are very clean and attractable.
