Gillies was founded in 1895 by James Gillies, moving to Broughty Ferry in 1906 as cabinetmakers, upholsterers and removal contractors before finally opening on the current site as 'House Furnishers' in 1939. Since then Gillies has continued to provide Scotland with the highest quality home furnishings, carpets and flooring. Gillies understands family life, and how important home is to you. This is why as an independent family run business we have helped furnish homes all over Scotland for over 120 years and continue to be one of Scotland's premier furnishing retailers responsible for helping you to create a home. In our showrooms you will find a huge selection of sofas, dining furniture, occasional furniture, beds, bedroom furniture, carpets and all types of flooring. Within our flagship Broughty Ferry store you will also find curtains, wallpapers, soft furnishings, linens, cookware, gift-ware and occasional lighting.

Recent visit to Gillies in Perth

Recently visited Gillies in Perth to purchase a new sofa set. Staff very welcoming and friendly. Good range of options to view in store. Kaylie was very helpful in showing the various fabric choices for the sofa. Good price for sofa and chairs. Overall, it was a very pleasant shopping experience and will use Gillies again in future.

Staff have been fantastic throughout…

Staff have been fantastic throughout the purchasing to delivery period. We ordered 4 items for our newly built garden house and we were kept fully updated with deliveries etc.All arrived as expected and we are delighted with all staff at Gillies.

Great firm to buy from

Great firm to buy from. Parcel arrived on time and the crockery was packed really well with plenty of padding. Will definitely use Gillies for my next purchase

Our Recent Gillies Experience

Our experience when buying our new bedroom furniture from Gillies was very good. Staff were very helpful with good communication until our items arrived. Delivery was at a time which suited us and the men were respectful of our property when assembling our furniture.
We are also very pleased with our purchase and would recommend Gillies.
