I've found this to be a useful adjunct to learning everything on my own with, say, the Odin project, in the sense that there is personal feedback and an added emphasis on differentiating the stuff you really need to know right away vs. the fine print which can be learned later as long as you have a general idea of what's in there. Also, there's a huge leap between learning a bunch of code and actually going out to get projects, and Freemote will (I hope) will prove far more useful there. That double endorsement of both the DIY slow-and-thorough approach (i.e. the Odin project) and what Freemote is offering is admittedly a little schizoid, and somewhat goes against Freemote's ethos, but so far it works fine for me. Note that I haven't taken any other boot camps or gone through any other self-help courses for any length of time, so I can't compare Freemote to any other boot camps or programs.

speaking from my own experience, I've been enrolled in this program for two weeks and i absolutely love it, the feedback from not only the staff but the community as a whole makes freemote feels like your learning with family, and people who want to succeed as much as you. The new knowledge weekly is addicting, i would highly recommend this program from anyone looking to pursue a career change!

I've been learning code on my own for the last few months but would easily get lost in the vast amount of material and information. Freemote breaks down the material with every resource needed to be successful. Excited to finish the program and begin freelance coding!

I was trying to learn to code on my own. Although I had lots of free available resources to me, I didn't know where to begin, and I was a bit lost because of the vast amount of material available.

Are the things taught in Freemote available online for free? Yes. But there are two vital things you need to learn to code, in my opinion: structure in your learning and interaction with experienced programmers. This is why I decided to join Freemote.

The structure
The program itself gave me the structure that I badly needed. Aaron and Jan obviously put a lot of thought into it, and it was very clear what was important to learn and what wasn't. They also outline the order in which you should learn things, and you are always practicing what you learn through projects and exercises.

The interaction
The weekly Q&A calls allow you to ask questions to Jan, either in the chat or by talking to him directly on Zoom.
At the end of each coding project, you get a personalized video review from an experienced programmer who gives you various pointers and useful advice. After each review, you can interact with the programmer by email if you have questions, which I found extremely useful.
The mentor Facebook chat is always available, so you can talk with an experienced programmer there at all times if you have an issue unrelated to a project (they do take about a day to respond though).

Other than that, Freemote offers you many other advantages. They guide you in developing your project portfolio, building your own website, how to go about Upwork (profile creation, writing proposals, getting badges, etc.), financial advice, how to interact with clients, and much more. Not to mention that the program is getting updated with new material.

I joined in late March of 2022. We are now in early May, and I have my portfolio, my own website, and clients on Upwork, plus I am continuing to learn a ton every day (presently in week 6 of the Freemote program, which is advanced Javascript).

It cost me US$ 2K, and honestly, it is the best investment I have made in my life, by far. I highly recommend it to any motivated individual who is struggling in their learning. If you are willing to do the work, you will not be disappointed.

Freemote is the coding experience that you have been looking for your whole life. Freemote teaches you how to build a website from scratch, and set up start up business plan for becoming a freelance developer. This is not just class but an experience on how the developers world works.

Just finished my first project, which went well, and I received a video review of my code from Berk. He answered a couple of questions I had asked, giving the reasoning for the answers, and went on to point out a few other very informative items relating to that specific project and the code. I learned a lot from him in his short review and I will definitely re-watch that video!

Almost finished with week one and I am enjoying the process. I just received my first code review from one of the mentors. He pointed out all the mistakes one by one and how to correct them. So far the course is excellent and I am excited to continue and learn from it.

I Just started this bootcamp a few weeks ago, it has been a great learning experience. The guys have created an easy to follow tutorial and set of reference videos.
Thanks to the team at freemote, this is awesome.

This Bootcamp is something else. I started approaching coding a year or so ago on self-learning platforms.
My learning wasn't going as planned. I felt lost and couldn't keep my motivation and discipline up. One of the main reasons was that I didn't have a clear goal and had no one to help me.

Before finding Freemote, I was considering another University of Chicago Bootcamp. They asked me for $12k, for 6 months of online classes and nothing guaranteed when I finished.

Right after that, I stumbled upon an ad from Aaron. I recognized myself in everything he said and immediately sent my information to get an interview with one of their recruiters.

The recruiter, Steve, was super helpful and kind. He gave me all the info I needed. The price was very affordable (compared to the $12k I had been asked days before 😅).
I bought the course the next day.

I'm on my third week and Woow!!! So far so good.
I really feel like I'm being followed by professionals. Whenever I have a problem I have someone to answer me within 48h.
The lessons are clear and I love the fact that the videos are short but very comprehensive.
I sent the first project for feedback and was sent a personalized video where my code was checked.
The Facebook community is also great and really friendly.

This Bootcamp is giving me a direction in life. I now have a clear goal in mind and I also have mentors and coaches following me and helping me in order to achieve my goals.
I seriously think this has been one of the best decisions I have made in years.

This Bootcamp has been a lifesaver for me. I spent countless hours and days looking for the easiest, fastest, cheapest way to get the knowledge I need to become a software dev. After getting close to finishing up the 1st week. I can say I am confident in ways around the coding world I never thought I would be. If I had to, I would sign up all over again. The best part for me is that I can use this program and platform for life. In case I still need help after moving forward. This was one of the best decisions I have made in my life when it comes to a career path and the route to get there.

I will update this if anything changes as I am just finishing up their first module (of 7), but so far, I am very impressed.

At first it seemed a bit fishy to me, but I had my friend who's a developer for Shopify look into it for me before I started and even she was impressed by the concept.

The videos are incredibly well thought out and helpful, but my favourite part so far is the projects. They don't hold your hand, but they walk you through what you need to know, and show you how to find what you need to know (VERY important). When you're done a project, you can choose to submit your work to a support member, who will give you a customized feedback video to answer all of your questions and point out any areas of improvement. I have been in and out of school most of my life and I've NEVER had a course so easily laid out with instructors as involved and helpful as Freemote support.

It's also a fairly reasonable price, considering anything equivalent to this course is typically about 15x more expensive, and you don't get real-life experience out of them. With Freemote, having a real life project is part of their curriculum. That's what sold me on it.

I can honestly say that I've never felt so confident about a big decision in my life.

Here I studied web development for close to a year had trouble understanding concepts and theories but once I join freemote everything started coming together so much better for me now so still a long way to go if it wasn't for them I'll probably be more confused on how to implement some of the ideas but thankfully these guys help me out and I'm so grateful that I joined the Freemote family

I almost had no knowledge in coding prior to Freemote but the way it is structured and taught is so easy to absorb. I recently completed one of the first projects and had my code personally reviewed by a Freemote mentor, Berk, which helped immensely in my learning process. I’m very impressed and I feel like I’m heading towards the right direction with Freemote. Highly recommend!

I did a ton of research into different courses, and needed to find instruction that was both approachable and efficient at getting me to a stage where I could earn reasonably quickly. This is the one.

I appreciated being able to check out Aaron's approach on his YouTube channel as a bit of a preview. If you are a realist who can see the big picture and will put in the work, this is a great opportunity to learn in-demand skills in a very well-designed course and environment.

Do the projects, really try to understand why things work or don't work (looking at you, CSS), and you'll get where you want to go =)

For what you get during and even after you complete the course is worth its weight in gold. Aaron and Jan are very dedicated to this love-child of theirs, as they are constantly adding and tweaking, with weekly Q&A live chats. Their team is exceptional, and respond with questions promptly and fully. I especially enjoy the personal project reviews where you have a dev go over your code and give you pointers on how to make it better. This self-pace course is suitable for literally anybody interested in getting started in web development, regardless of location, experience, or time required.

Thank you Freemote for an incredible learning platform to learn and understand how to do the front end of coding from both the lesson as well as the project to link the learning process together. I am new to this arena and I have learned a lot so far and will continue to expand my understanding of how everything works together. Thank you Aaron and Jan for making this available. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants to get into this space, it is worth your time and money!

I was so surprised by how much I already knew and could do by myself after the first week! The projects and structure of the program give you so much practice and knowledge in such a short amount of time.
