Florida Blue is terrible
I purchased an individual plan with Florida Blue which included routine care related to a newborn for 60 days after the birth. My agent assured me that he confirmed this with Florida Blue and that I was all set. Florida blue is now denying all claims related to newborn care as they state that he was not added to my plan. Beware of Florida Blue as well as agent Joseph Rossi as he created this mess and has done nothing to solve it. Meanwhile I am receiving bills for thousands of dollars when I was aldready covered on a plan.

I enrolled in a Florida Blue HMO plan this year and unfortunately my experience has been extremely disappointing.
Every time I try to schedule a doctor’s appointment, I’m told that only one assigned primary doctor is covered. If I see any other doctor, even within what appears to be their network, I’m required to pay a $75 copay. In many cases, I’ve also been informed that most doctors are not actually under contract with Florida Blue HMO, which makes it very difficult to find providers who truly accept the plan.
On top of that, prescriptions are frequently denied coverage. We’ve had multiple situations where medications were not covered at all, forcing us to pay full price out of pocket.
At nearly $400 per month in premiums, we expected reliable coverage and reasonable access to care. Instead, we’re paying monthly for insurance and still paying out of pocket for appointments and prescriptions.
This has been one of the most frustrating insurance experiences we’ve had. I strongly recommend that anyone considering this HMO plan carefully review provider availability and prescription coverage before enrolling.

Had to go to a minute clinic which should be covered. My coverage didn't work. I mailed and then sent digital message follow ups to be compensated the $150 for this visit. My last message was closed with NO RESPONSE. C20260207357708535 I need my claim resolved asap and the person who closed my message without a response should honestly be fired for negligence.

Yuney took an hour to solve all the issues my broker caused with my plan. We were not able to locate it because he had sent my application with my name spelled wrong. I have 2 days left before I run out of my BP medication. Yuney was not only empathetic but also diligent in trying to find a solution for me. She requested the name change, she sent me a temp card to use, remailed my insurance cards, and sent me a list of minute clinics around my area that will only charge me 5 dollars for the emergency prescription of these meds that literally keep me alive. Yuney, may your pillow always be fluffy.

I tried to sign into my Florida Blue account this morning with absolutely no success. It had nothing to do with the user name or password.
A representative worked with this issue for more than one hour and finally it worked perfectly.
Her name is Ingram and she deserves five stars plus! Ingram connected with me via the online customer service.
She turned a frustrating experience into success.
I am hoping that someone at Florida Blue reaches out to her and relay this message to her.

Choose your Poison
Unfortunately all you read about this company is true in my experience. The customer service agents are poorly trained and many speak poor English. I could not have been clearer in the reasoning for my call but the agent could not understand after repeating myself twice. I asked for a manager. 15 minutes later was connected; explained my need and he said “one moment” and hung up. A great company until you need something. Then be prepared to be very disappointed. It is like the phone service industry. Is there a better option. Answer: probably not. They are likely all just as bad. Choose your poison.
The best health insurer in Florida
I had Florida Blue for many years and was always happy with them. I made the mistake of trying AvMed for 2025 and it was a total disaster. Just 2 more months and I can go back to my beloved Florida Blue in 2026. It can't come fast enough!

FL BLUE - WORST OF THE WORST
Remember when Blue Cross / Blue Shield were the best of the best? Those times are gone. Florida Blue has just gutted my Physician from in net and given no guidance how to proceed. Last Jan, when I signed up for $1200 monthly costs, they said BayCare is in net - now they change their mind and drop them. Then, when I call on 5 Sept, I get a Philippine call center who tells me I will get CoC Continuity of Care coverage but today on 16 Sept, I google the conditions for CoC and realize I am just having annual physical and the FLBLUE Call Center rep LIED to me. So I call back and they confirm their colleague LIED to me and say there is nothing I can do. FL BLUE just robbed me of $15,000 annual health care payments with almost no benefits - TOTAL CROOKS!

most part they have done well, but last yr started dropping hospitals and dr groups mostly gp or family dr. so be vigilant and double check your specialists
i seen the 1 stars and sorry it looks like they havent read there policies before signing up . i realise ins is complicated so don't understand call until you get answer . websites not great i still locked out of the rx site , in mediocre if going to seminar try taking a person with you that has successfully managed
i been on it 6 yrs 1 with Obamacare 5 Medicare hmo and now pepo cost little more but no referral's needed . i also managed moms from 1990 . with several co worst was aarp when they dropped hundreds of dr in county why we went the fl blue

Florida Blue makes all kind of promises but goes back on their word after you change to them. Their Florida Blue card is suppose to be used at any stores for the $56 quarterly amount but that’s not true. You are forced to use it in their catalog of products that aren’t what you want or need. Their system is pure junk. Don’t be tricked into changing to them. Next year I’m out and looking for a more reputable company that doesn’t lie to get you to change.

I got a very expensive health insurance policy from Florida Blue insurance through agent, Jacklyn Monteagudo, Blue Direct Sales and am extremely unhappy! My primary residence is in Florida, but I also live in Georgia as well, so I needed a plan that covers both states. I was told by this agent that I will have insurance in both places….Well, physicians and services in Georgia are out of network! I was misled and this was a play on words on her part. I am paying $1,200 a month for insurance that I can’t use because I can’t afford to go out of network and pay huge $$$. Something is SO wrong with the insurance industry. This is criminal and to make matters worse, I finally got in contact with this agent and she tried to upsell me. I am at my wits end with health insurance and something needs to be done!!!
