Got the results a few days ago and it's all very meh. One DNA result says I have a propensity for low inflammation, another says high.

Here's an example of real results, copied and pasted from my personal report:

Strength endurance

Studies have suggested that the DD genotype is associated with better ‘strength endurance’, where sustained anaerobic activity is required. Therefore, this could be the optimal genotype for elite sprinters, power athletes and middle-distance runners.

In a study which looked at 500 Caucasian males, it was found that those with the GG genotype had lower strength. A 2% higher knee extensor strength was observed in individuals with the AA genotype compared to G allele carriers.

It's kinda like reading a horiscope - you can make it mean pretty much anything you want. I didn't find it useful at all. I'd have given it 2.5 / 5 if that was an option. I'm being generous with the three.

Straightforward, easy to follow, lots of critical information for a health interested person like me.
I like the combination of gene, lifestyle and actions to mitigate risk factors.
A bit of everything associated with health - gene, diet, exercise and more...
Also I believe it's based on more recent research and findings not just 'old' advice.

We read about FitnessGenes in the Times and both signed up on the day. The article suggested a 6 week wait, however the majority of the results were back in about 10 minutes.
The information on DNA traits is extensive and easy to follow and provides a fascinating insight into the complexities of our DNA traits.

Wow! I’ve been blown away by my results - they really link to my current health experiences and gives an explanation of why I suffer things such an inflammation and struggle loosing weight. I’ve found the nutrition information especially interesting for my dieting approach. Worth the money so far!

Very interesting personalised DNA report. Lots of information to absorb. Great to receive ideas for nutrition, lifestyle and workouts tailormade for my DNA. Only slight improvement would be a quick look dashboard which concentrates on the main areas. I would happily recommend.

Received the product and the instructions were seamless and easy to follow. Shipped the product and got the results a few weeks later. The results have provided great insight into my genetic make up and helped me to focus my exercise regime for the benefit of my body

Super Interesting stuff. I'd recommend if your curious to see what your DNA holds Inside, I particularly enjoyed learning I share a Gene with professional mountain climbers called ACE, explains my lust for mountains!

However there is one problem, there are various genes that indicate contradicting consequences. There's one gene I have that says I have low levels of inflammation and there's another that says I have extremely high. There's a couple examples like this. If you guys could come up with a way of helping us understand these seeming contradictions , that would make it 5 stars !

I found it very easy to upload my DNA file from ancestry and the fitness genes analysis came back within an hour.
There is so much information and the structure of presenting the DNA traits, then giving insights and specific relevant actions is a powerful tool. Looking at the information gives me realistic actions.
Much of the insight rings true and explains some of my life experiences. This is great as whilst it exposes risks it also gives solid fact based actions I and potentially my close relatives can take.

The ease of uploading data was great. The report information provided was interesting and gave me some actionable steps to take,

I'd been on the fence and looking at a number of DNA analysis companies, and decided to go with FitnessGenes. The process is very simple - I was quickly sent a testing kit, provided a saliva sample, and my results were available within 2 weeks. You log into a portal, and the results are clearly shown, with an analysis of your individual genes, plus a risk factor, and some actionable improvements to make (either supplement, diet, or activity related).

I had cause to contact customer services, and my experience was truly impressive - I received a same-day reply, with thorough, personalised advice. It wasn't a cut-and-pasted generic review - the information and reply I received was specific to me and my DNA results. Even more impressive is that it was followed-up a few days later to check that I'd got everything I needed.

Due to the results, I've got some actionable tasks, and it's nice to know that I'm doing is directly linked to my own DNA and how my body works.

Easy to follow advice for lifestyle and nutrition changes to improve health

It is a great pioneering service, once I submitted my genome file via the web, I had the analysis ready in a matter of minutes (less than 2). Well done on that. I am really happy with the product but I do have some feedback (meant as constructive feedback so dear reader, please take it in that context). I definitely recommend the service and will soon get my wife to submit her genome too.

The team seem to be quite well grounded in the science behind it, which is good but it can also be frustrating as they err on the « safe side », a little too much for my liking (personal subjective opinion)

Some of the results are contradictory, some of my genes indicate that I should be suitable for endurance sports and some say I am not… so which one one should I trust? It says that I am likely to have a high resting heart beat while imine is in fact 45 bpm and I am no athlete… one particular one is totally untrue for me, I am supposed to be very lactose intolerant while I never had any issues with dairy products ever in my life and I do consume such products on a daily basis).

Some of the advice and the explanations are somewhat generic which defeats the whole purpose of having such a bespoke analysis. I appreciate that this is a highly technical subject but you either stick to pure scientific terms or layman terms, not a random and inconstant mixture of both. This has immense potential but it needs more piazaz, I have a degree in biology so I know a fair amount about genetics but I still get either confused with too much detail or left wanting more because of the lack of details.

They need to beef up the content to streamline the language, content and graphics. Gamify it, make it compelling and fun and informative.

As I said at the start, this is a whole new field and it is at its infancy so what I am seeing is matching what I expected but it there could be more. I am really looking forward to deeper insights over the next couple of years. Good work so far, but there is much more you could do so keep innovating and capitalise on your your fist mover advantage.

These results are fantastic for giving you a bigger picture of your health. It allows you to target specific changes that need to be made instead of making vague and general changes. I have been a registered nurse for 20 years and I fully endorse this product.

Great product. Fairly priced and gives a lot of cool insight. Only thing issue for me is that it can be quite difficult to interpret the the best way for me to eat/train/live from the genetic traits.
A simplified report in addition to all the detailed info is what it would need for my rating to be 5*s

I was lucky enough to win a kit at the NEC bike show altho I was already interested. Easy to use kit and instructions and results were returned a bit quicker than scheduled. Communication through the process and support after has been outstanding. The results are really extensive and when I was not quite sure where to start processing the information I contacted customer service (Alex). Got a prompt and really helpful response.
