Thank you for sharing your experience! We’re so glad our team could help get your business reinstated and make the process easier to understand along the way.
Annual report deadlines can be easy to miss, and unfortunately, falling behind on required filings can sometimes result in a business losing its active status. That’s one of the reasons we’re passionate about helping business owners manage their paperwork and stay on top of future filing deadlines.
Most importantly, we’re happy we could get everything taken care of quickly so you could get back to what matters — running your business. Thank you for trusting Firstep to help!

BEWARE!
BEWARE! I was guided to the First Step website instead of the Vermont Secretary of State. I paid $165 too much for my LLC renewal and they auto renewed. I received no benefit from First Step. I am also bizarrely no longer listed as a business in the State of Vermont even though I paid the $200. THIS IS A SCAM.

We’re sorry to hear about your frustration and would genuinely like the opportunity to look into this further. Unfortunately, we are unable to identify your account based on this review, as no contact or business information was provided.
Firstep is an independent professional filing service and is not affiliated with the Vermont Secretary of State or any government agency. We assist business owners nationwide who prefer help with state filings, compliance reminders, and renewal services to help avoid missed deadlines or administrative dissolution. Our fees, renewal terms, and independent status are disclosed throughout our website, checkout process, and mailed notices.
We also take claims regarding business status very seriously. Based on the information provided, we have not been able to locate a matching Vermont auto-renewal account for the timeframe of this review, and we would appreciate the opportunity to investigate whether this matter may involve another filing provider or a separate state issue.
Please contact our support team directly with your business name and renewal details so we can review your account and assist further.

Fraudulent Mail
They defrauded my wife's business. They lie, state the renewal is overdue, and that the fee is $200+$100 late fee. Renewal fees are $25. The state of Michigan has a known scam posting about this company on their LARA page. They are supposed to be reported for mail fraud if letters are received.
