As ever the team looked after me royally. I can't recommend them more highly as they are always attentive and have a thorough understanding about bikes as well as a firm grasp on customer service. I used to bring my bikes to Brompton Junction for all my needs. However over time I grew to realize that the good folk at Fettle offered me something a little more. What was that? Excellent service!
This was a very difficult, stressful and expensive experience - I initially took a free diagnostic online, brought my bike to the workshop as booked online - there I was told the mechanic wasn’t in but for electric VanMoof there was a £60 diagnostic because it would take a lot of time checking every piece -I told the person at the reception : my bike has a error 44 but had been there for ever and didn’t affect the ride , my back wheel has issues but I have a spare one, the booster button is broken but I just changed it so it must be something else , my chain is also in need of repairs , and the e shifter must be checked - I also said the break pads have just been changed and I changed the e-shifter a month ago - I was reassured everything would be checked -then I got 2 quotes the next morning at 10am when the mechanic arrived ( one was the £60 diagnostic and one was over £300 which included a new back wheel but different ) a text telling me exactly what I said initially ( the diagnostic was basically a repeat of what I said to the receptionist / worker there)- I was really annoyed! £60!!!!! Sixty pounds! SIXTY POUNDS for no other info - I sent some e-mails, I had one answer only at start , no flexibility , no compromising - I asked if they could do only the booster button plus £80 labour and not charging me the diagnostic as there was a misunderstanding in what they will do - no replies - I asked a compromise of the fee of diagnostic as I was given nothing new - the mechanic even written a lot of mechanical issue ( chain: breaks pad etc and no sign of wanted to fix that ( wasn’t on the quote )- he just wanted me to buy a £238 back wheel - there was some explanation of 2 gears wheel to help with error 44- I asked follow up questions about that wheel ( no answers) -the guy when I brought my bike never said they can’t fix e shifters ( if he had told me that I won’t have agreed about £60 diagnostic as I thought this was what he was going to fix!)
I feel robbed in day light - I took a friend with me as I was SCARED of going there on my own - when I asked about Black Friday deal FF20, the guy had no idea despite this being advertised online - I mentioned it as well on my messages ( no answers again) -
When we picked it up, the guy was not even aware of my texts he kept repeating the first text he sent me - I told him “ but if you had told me that you weren’t going e-shifters” he replied “ I am not the mechanic , I don’t know about this” I mean the man works in the small workshop!!!!!
Then the mechanic came, shouted at me , he was balancing from one foot to other one, I thought he wanted to punch me because I dare asking for my bike and not paying this £60 - he told me you don’t know what I dud to your bike - I kept asking him “ tell me what you did” I to him he just said what I said when I brought my bike in!
At the end I paid £60 and my bike was given back to me , my baskets were removed and not put back, the tires were not even pump up - I just lost £60 like that, being shouted at , no flexibility , totally ripped off - and the mechanic even said “ we don’t like doing VanMoof bikes”
That’s the problem with a company like that, if you pay their disclosure front or agree despite nothing done, then there is no compensation possible - so go elsewgere where they know how to communicate properly from the starting point instead of telling you you signed a paper who said you will pay £60 to repeat exactly what you said when you brought the bike in - if you don’t do e-shifters you SHOULD HAVE SAID THIS FROM point 0 - DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY EVER - they don’t follow any thing they say ( Black Friday code/ the free agnostic initially booked where I said it was an electric bike, communication is really poor )

The guys at Fettle Putney once again have delivered a value for money service of good quality with great customer service. Easy to deal with, efficient and good £ value. Would highly recommend them.

Nelson has excellent interpersonal skills which match his bike mechanic skills. Faff free beautifully describes the experience. I would recommend his expertise and know-how to all my cycling friends and groups in Edinburgh.
These guys are great and practical but have become way too expensive. Display £99 for a review + ebike fee + pickup/dropoff (great) + add'l labour ended up costing more than double that!! Unfortunately may have to look elsewhere for service, that's too bad.
Straight forward collection. The mechanic explained the issues clearly and offered options. Signed off the cost which were very reasonable. Slight delay waiting for parts but then they were fitted same day they arrived in. Bike was then delivered to my door the following day. Great service. Will be using again.

My son came home late afternoon from school with a flat tyre. We stopped at the Fettle shop nearby on our way. The manager said he could fix it before closing time. By the time we got home, I had a message saying the bike was ready. I was pleasantly surprised by their efficiency and pleased with the repair cost.
As always, brilliant service from the guys at Hyde Park Fettle. Really is pleasure to leave my bike in good hands and quick turn around to help get me back on the road. Thank you Fettle Hyde park
