Your Connect Right campaign is strong-arming elderly people
My 82 year old mother has been told by Unites Utilities/EA that she must pay a lot of money to have her sink and washing machine drainage re-routed involving digging up the floor etc. She has been caused a great deal of worry by being called a polluter, the veiled threats that have been involved and the virtual coercion she has been subjected to.
The environment agency has decided to force people to re-route plumbing that has been perfectly acceptable for years (and certainly when properties were built, it was the norm), but due no doubt to some EU ruling or over-zealous officialdom they have now decided to start accusing people of being polluters.
My mother cannot afford the £300 or £500 she has been quoted. She has recently lost her partner to Alzheimers and I am disgusted that she has been caused so much stress and worry by this campaign.
I have just looked at the connectright website and the threats implied in the "I have a question" section, threatening people with fines and even imprisonment. How can they treat elderly and vulnerable people this way?
