Had a remote survey over Teams last week with Sahil and everything was made so clear and easy. Would recommend highly.

Sahil was available and on time for a planning call which he completed very efficiently and quickly.

Absolute awful customer service.
They are NOT an installer and sub-contract all work to local companies!
The installation of our system went well, but the problems started when the system didn't work as promised. Effective Home don't respond unless you threaten to withhold payment. As soon as you made the final payment you don't get any meaningful response anymore!
My system still doesn't work as advertised. Unfortunately, this problem occurred after my final payment. Hence radio silence from Effective Home.
I am now considering legal action.

Had solar panels and system fitted in July 2024.
Installation went well and all working fine.
Reported a problem on Monday 16/2/26 and was told I would get a call back that day or the next day.
On Wednesday 18/2/26 rang again as I hadn’t received a call back. I was then told I would get a call back by Friday 20/2/26
On Friday 20/2/26 I got a call to say I wouldn’t get a call from an engineer until Monday 23/2/26.
It is now Friday 27/2/26 and still no call back.
Avoid this company as their after sales is non existent.

A very nice man by the name of Andrew Nichols came to do my survey today. He was efficient polite and thorough . He put covers on his shoes and treat my home with the utmost respect.

Just had a man here to do my survey, he was friendly and explained all the necessary steps to me. The engineer who visited was Andrew Nicholls

The company honoured my warranty claim, although it took many phone calls. However, once they actioned the claim they did so in a very timely and professional manner.

3 months since raising a post solar battery installation concern, their customer service is invisible, shocking state of affairs

​I had a great experience working with Sahil on my solar design. He was incredibly thorough in mapping out the roof for my new 10.6kWh SolaX battery system. He noticed potential shading issues from a neighboring roof that I hadn't fully considered and proactively redesigned the layout to maximize my generation. He even included free optimisers to ensure the system performs at its best despite the evening shade. Really impressed with the technical knowledge and the extra mile he went to ensure I got the best deal. Highly recommend asking for Sahil if you want a system that actually works for your specific home.

The original installation went well but after about a year the system developed a problem. Whilst I realise this can happen the customer experience around reporting it and trying to get it resolved has been really poor. Communication is weak, it is nearly always me initiating contact, and most recently a whole week has passed whilst they are in the process of trying to find an appointment for me. Unsatisfactory and very frustrating.

Our experience with Effective Homes started well. The initial appointment was informative, everything was clearly explained, and the installation was arranged quickly. The solar panels were fitted without any issues, and the Hive and FoxCloud 2.0 apps were installed on our phones.

However, we received no guidance on how to use the apps, how to manage charging and discharging, or how to optimise the system to actually benefit from the solar panels and batteries. We’ve since discovered that the batteries have never discharged to the house since the installation in August. This means the system we invested a significant amount of money into has not been working as intended at all.

As a result, our electricity bills have gone up rather than down — which is incredibly frustrating and, frankly, has made us angry given the cost of the system and the promises made at the start.

We contacted both FoxCloud and Effective Homes a week ago. We’ve spoken to several people, all of whom promised call-backs that never happened. We are still waiting to find out what the issue is and how they plan to resolve it.

The aftercare has been shocking, and it’s extremely disappointing considering how positive everything seemed at the beginning.

Thank you for your response, but I need to be very clear about our experience so far.

We have repeatedly tried to speak to someone in your technical team, and every time we are told they are out of the office or unavailable. We phoned again today and were told that FoxCloud is dealing with the issue and that “there is a process” — yet we reported the problem to FoxCloud on 8th February, and we still have not received a single response from them other than an email to say a ticket has been issued.

At this point, all we know is that we have spent thousands of pounds on 15 solar panels, an inverter, and two batteries, and the system does not work. The batteries have never discharged to the house since installation, and our electricity bills have increased rather than decreased.

Because we purchased the system from Effective Home, we expect Effective Home to take responsibility for resolving the issue — not to pass us from one company to another. At the very least, an engineer should have been sent out by now.
We are still waiting for meaningful support, and we would like this to be resolved as a priority.

Absolutely fantastic service from start to finish always being updated as to when my solar panels were going to be fitted fitters were a good bunch of lads pleased to give these 5 stars

We were not offered an on-site feasibility survey visit prior to this installation which, with, hindsight may have been beneficial. We were told that the job would take about 1 1/2 days. All the people that came to our house were very good, gave the appearance that they knew what they were doing, very friendly and prepared to engage with us to explain what was going on.
The first communication was an email, on the 10th January 2026, stating that the installation would be on the 20th January and that the scaffolding company would be in touch.
On Friday 16th January @ 16.27 a phone call from the scaffolding company requesting photos of the house where the scaffolding is to be built. These were emailed back about an hour later and a little later reply was received to say “We can send a team tomorrow”, fortunately we were available on the Saturday.
Tuesday 20th January, materials arrived early, closely followed by the electrician, who started work on the electrical installation. A little later the roof team arrived and quickly decided that it was too dangerous to work at height with the pitch of the roof and the scaffolding needed to be extended for safety reasons.
Next day (21st) the scaffolders were back to extend the scaffolding whilst the electrician continued with his installation.
A roof team were due to be back on the 27th, the one-man team duly arrived but after much deliberation had to concede that it was too dangerous for him alone given the pitch of the roof.
Next day (28th) we received a phone call in the morning to say they had a 2-man team that went to a job but it was too dangerous to continue, could they come to us. Fortunately, again we were available, so they came and finally the installation was complete.
On the 30th the AnyJunk team arrived with 10 mins notice, most of the waste they were there to collect was locked away in the garage to keep it dry. No suitable notice was given.
On the 2nd Feb the scaffolders turned up to remove the scaffolding. Again no notice was given.

Overall the system is working and when we get some good weather we will see if it’s projected performance lives up to expectations. All the people that came to our house were very good, polite, friendly and explained everything, all were sub-contracted - none employed by Effective Home or Effective Energy. The people on the phone were also good.
However, there were a few issues that an on site survey at the very beginning would have smoothed out, like the steepness of the roof and the scaffolding requirement, and saved a lot of time for us and the people visiting site who had driven many miles to get here.
The communication was not good enough, much of the installation was only successful because we had nothing planned and were able to stay in for the various teams coming to see us.

The CAD drawing looks excellent and hopefully the panels will be reflected in the design.

Andrew Nicholls from Effective Home recently carried out an energy efficiency survey at my property, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the service. He was punctual, professional, and very efficient throughout the entire process.
Andrew worked quickly while still being thorough, and he was polite and respectful in my home at all times. He explained what he was doing clearly and made the whole experience straightforward and stress-free.
I would highly recommend Andrew to anyone needing an energy efficiency assessment. Excellent service from start to finish.

Sales guy Jake ( who is the manager aérea) was very charming and has promises a quick and efficient delivery. Admin following up really weak with me having to constantly chase for update.
We are waiting for the solar panel's to be fitted since 05/12/25.

Scaffolders came to put scaffolding and blocked the energy and gas door.
When fitting partners came they advised that is against law and my family was in danger in case of a fire.
When chase admin they pretended they didn’t know solar painel were not fitted.
I receive lots of emails and calls regarding the final payment even before the job was finished.
Sccofolding came and amended the job and I thought now they come to finished and we were told they didn’t have availability until the next month.
For my surprise one day after have the fitting day, scaffolding people came and remove everything, yes the job was not finished and Mrs Mikaela was aware and have said the fitting partners would not need the scaffolding.
My husband took 2 days off job and nothing has done.
Sccfolding came again and block the gas and eletr door again, no way, the fitters came, my daughter saw them, but they never did the job again. I thought the reason was because the door was blocked. When I chase Mrs Mikaela she said they have not done because nobody answer .
Last week I manager to speak with the charming manager Jackie, who said this is not acceptable and have book an appointment via phone with me and my husband last Monday 9am, for my surprise he has never call me back.
For my surprise I receive a call today and Mikaela would like to confirm the fitting for Monday the 9/02, again I mentioned the scaffolding problem and she promised me she would call me back with answers and a discount. I have tried to cancel at least 3 times the contract and the answer from Mrs Michaela was that I would need to pay for all the scaffolding service.
Now is almost 5pm and they are close and she has never call me back.

Run from this company, if when they as selling and providing services they hide themselves and lie can you imagine 25 years of warranty trying to chase them.
