I rented luxury car from easyrent Bulgaria (easycarsbg), because rental price was quite attractive. After I made the payments, I went to parking spot to take the car…
I was shocked, they brought completely different, a full size car(Toyota Corolla). They defended themselves, their offer was luxury or similar!!! I asked them to cancel the rental.
Their front desk responsible told me, “I have two options: I rent Toyota or I will not receive any refund, because l signed the rental contract.”
They did all purposefully. The way they treat clients till delivering car and after refusing the rental are completely different. They are professional crooks.
You can not imagine how terribly they damage the Bulgaria image. The first experience after entering to Bulgaria.
Hope you do not do the same mistake by renting cars from Easyrent Bulgaria.

I rented a car from this company and unfortunately had a disappointing experience.

The tyre on the vehicle appeared quite worn, and I got a puncture in it. I was charged for a replacement tyre and balancing, for which I was already aware (no problem with that). While I understand that damage can happen during a rental, I was disappointed by the way the situation was handled.

I had to repeatedly contact the company to get an update regarding my deposit. Instead of proactively informing me of the outcome, I had to chase them for several days before being told that my deposit would not be returned.

Communication throughout the process was poor, and I was not provided with clear information until I specifically asked for it. A more transparent and customer-focused approach would have made the situation much easier to accept.

Based on my experience, I would recommend that future customers carefully inspect the condition of the tyres and obtain clear written information regarding deposit deductions before renting

Ich habe 2 mal Autos angemietet. Jedesmal gab es Probleme mit der Rückzahlung des Kaution. Die Kaution wird von Kreditkarte nicht reserviert, sondern abgebucht. Nach Rückgabe des Mietautos wird sie nach 2 Monaten mit etlichen Anrufen, unzähligen Schriftwechsel per Viber und Telegramm und zum Schluß mit Androhung von Rechtsanwalt erstattet. Eine Emailadresse gibt es nicht. Die Kaution wird für mehrere Monate als zinsloses Darlehen genutzt.
Bei dieser Autovermietung würde ich nie wieder ein Auto mieten und kann es auch nicht empfehlen.

I had an excellent experience with Easy Rent Bulgaria at Sofia Airport. For my trip, I rented the new Renault Clio 5, and I was extremely satisfied with both the car and the service.

The vehicle was in perfect condition, exceptionally clean inside and out, and came with a full tank of fuel, which was a great start to my journey. It was clear that the car had been very well maintained. The Renault Clio 5 was comfortable, economical, and a pleasure to drive throughout my stay in Bulgaria.

The rental price was very competitive and offered great value for money compared to other companies I checked. The entire process was transparent and straightforward from the beginning.

The staff were professional, friendly, and efficient. Pickup was quick and hassle-free, and returning the car was just as easy. I also had absolutely no issues with the return of my deposit, which was handled promptly and professionally. This gave me even more confidence in the company and their customer-focused approach.

Overall, everything exceeded my expectations. Easy Rent Bulgaria provided a reliable, honest, and high-quality service that made my trip much more enjoyable. I highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy car rental company at Sofia Airport, and I will definitely use their services again on my next visit to Bulgaria.

I strongly advise against using Easy Rent Bulgaria in Varna airport. My situation: reservation #3910929 was cancelled on March 16th. Almost three months have passed, and I still haven't received a refund.
​I have gone through every stage of their 'customer service': from empty promises to 'wait for the transaction to process' to being completely ignored. They have stopped responding to my emails and refuse to answer my calls.
​I consider this behavior to be a direct misappropriation of my funds. If you value your money and your time, choose another company—here, you will end up with neither the service nor a refund if any issues arise.

​Note to the company: If you intend to reply to this review with your standard request to 'contact customer support,' do not bother. I find it unpleasant to deal with thieves, so I will not be contacting you further. If you do not consider yourselves as such, simply process the refund. You have my email and credit card details on file.

terrible service , car broke down probably the battery , phoned the helpline they didn't want to know told me to get jump leads and hung up on me! phoned three times and they just hung up on me , i will never use them again . In response to your response, we did not leave any electrical components on in the car ( I don’t even think this is possible with this car , it automatically turns off lights and stereo) we tried charging the battery, then purchased jump leads and had to jump start the car every time ( the battery was obviously wrecked) all of this we informed you over the phone and your customer service just hung up on us , three times totally unexceptionable

Can only speak as you find.
We had a totally stress free transaction and car was fine.
Clean car and child seat as requested.
Collection and drop off was fine and quick.
The guys need to cheer up a little bit maybe but they might of been having a bad day

​Do not rent here! I rented a car for $97, and because I used my own insurance, the staff turned hostile.
​Without a clear explanation, they charged (not a hold!) €2,400 to my card immediately. I only realized later this was a full transaction, not a standard security hold.
​The Extortion:
​The Set-up: They charged the money upfront to gain leverage.
​The Fraud: Upon return, they claimed "new" damages. I have the original pickup protocol and video evidence proving these damages existed before I even started the car.
​The Forgery: They produced a fake, "clean" protocol with a forged signature.
​Partial Refund: After 4 months of fighting, they admitted the "error" and refunded part of it, but are still holding €1,077.
​I HAVE ALL ORIGINAL DOCUMENTS, TIME-STAMPED VIDEOS, AND CORRESPONDENCE TO PROVE EVERY WORD.
​Note to the company: Don't bother replying with your generic "everything is legal and documented" or "please contact our customer service." I have already spent 4 months contacting you, and I stand by every word. You are a scam operation.
​Reported to the Bulgarian Police and the ECC. Stay away!

If i could give a -ve rating i would do so.
Very aggressive upsell of insurance by person at counter. I did not need as i had uk insurance to cover. Was told i had a choice to accept it or they would cancel my booking. Very rude to my partner as well. When questioned why the price we had booked was not bring honoured was told we were trying to be smart by removing the insurance when we booked in uk. When i said i was being forced to pay the agent said no i am not forcing you . You have a choice not to pay it & the car will be cancelled. Said it was compulsory that i had to have. We did try the car rental in next kiosk but they could not supply an automatic car. Wish we had just gone with them & taken the manual. Agent was refusing to take my card fron me to pay for transaction when i said i would complain when i got back to uk. Kept repeating he was not forcing me. Yes he was black mailing me. I had to go ahead as no other optipn for a car.
The car we were supplied with had no markings on documentation but loads of marks/ dents/ creases - all photographed at lick up site. The car had maintenance light on & engine management light. When we went back to kiosk to query was told it is fine. The engine light on as they they the DPF out. Was told if tyre pressure warning light came on then ignore. Ot did on way back to our house so we have ignored as instructed. Hope not driving on alloy rims

Avoid at all costs unless you want to risk being scammed.
I approved only one payment — a deposit that was supposed to be refunded. Instead, they kept my deposit, falsely claiming I had damaged the car. They sent an invoice but provided no damage report, photos, or any clear explanation of the alleged damage.
After numerous phone calls, they finally claimed I had scratched the bumper. Fortunately, I had videos showing the car’s condition both at collection and at drop-off. Even after I proved the damage was already there, they still refused to return my deposit.
To make matters worse, after charging me for this alleged damage, they also took an additional payment from my account for the same amount as the deposit — a transaction I never authorised.

Absolutely disgraceful service. I would strongly advise others to avoid this company.

Worst car‑rental experience of my entire life. I rent cars frequently when I travel, including many times in Bulgaria, and I have never dealt with a company as unprofessional and misleading as Easyrent. I only booked with them because it was a last‑minute trip and they seemed affordable — that was a huge mistake. Avoid this company at all costs.

We reserved a car for Terminal 1, but when we arrived, the office was completely empty. After calling the number, we were told they “don’t operate at that terminal” and that we had to somehow get to Terminal 2 on our own. We waited 40 minutes for a shuttle in the middle of the night.

Once we finally arrived, things got even worse. Because it was outside their working hours, they immediately added a €25 late‑pickup fee — fine, that part is at least understandable. But then they informed us that we were required to pay for their full insurance, no matter what. I already have my own Europe‑wide rental insurance, and I’ve never been forced to buy extra coverage anywhere else. But at 2 AM, exhausted, we had no choice.

I booked a small economy car on purpose. Instead, they gave us an older, bigger model and called it an “upgrade.” It wasn’t an upgrade — it was just worse.

After driving barely 3 km, the car started shaking, making strange noises, and felt unsafe. Then we got pulled over by the police for a routine check. Every legitimate rental company provides the full car documents in a folder. Easyrent gave us only a tiny insurance card — completely useless. Because of that, the police issued a fine.

When I called Easyrent, their response was unbelievable:
“You are personally responsible for all fines. Let them write it and pay it. We will refund you.”
We couldn’t even pay on the spot — we now have to waste time finding an office, dealing with bureaucracy, and losing part of our weekend trip. I asked for written confirmation that they would reimburse us, and the employee said he could only send a text message. If I wanted an email, I had to write to them first. I did — and of course, no reply at all.

To top it all off, they require you to return the car washed and cleaned, or they charge another €25. The car wasn’t even clean when we received it.

This “cheap” rental ended up costing far more in money, stress, and frustration. I wish I had checked the reviews beforehand.
Avoid Easyrent at all costs. Truly the worst rental experience I’ve ever had.

Better keep away from this company.
I paid for SUV, they changed it to economy in the airport without my will.
I canceled the booking, they still did not pay back the rental fee.
As far as I witnessed, they do these professionally to tourists. They know, we will not chase them during our visit in Bulgaria.

I rented a car for 3 days in March 2026 from Easy Rent Bulgaria at Sofia Airport. They took a 300-euro deposit, and as of today, May 15, 2026, I have not received my security deposit back. I have emailed them 4 times and called the company 3-4 times. Over the phone, they promised me the money would be returned, but to no avail. I will be reporting the company to the relevant authorities for fraudulent charges. Please do not use them!

I rented a car in February 2026 and returned it in the same condition as received. It has been over 90 days, yet they are still withholding my €200 deposit, without any legal basis.

Be warned: they use deceptive tactics. During pickup, they rush you through the process so you don't notice the missing second page of the Terms and Conditions.

They try to make you sign away your legal rights to dispute charges (point 3 of their official contract), but don’t let that scare you! If they wrongfully withhold your deposit, DO NOT hesitate to initiate chargeback with your bank. Visa/Mastercard rules explicitly prohibit merchants from stripping away your chargeback rights through unfair contract clauses.

Furthermore, they attempted to charge me a €55 "handling fee" for a traffic fine of €20 that I received directly via the E-gov portal and paid myself. They did absolutely no administrative work, yet felt entitled to a fee.

The customer service is a nightmare. Every time I call, I am given inaccurate information; they repeatedly claim the deposit has been released, yet nothing ever arrives. This company is highly unprofessional and, based on my experience and many other reviews here, operates like a scam targeting tourists.

I have already filed formal complaints with the European Consumer Centre, the Bulgarian Commission for Consumer Protection, and initiated a chargeback through my bank.

Save yourself the stress and book with a reputable company instead.

Car was fine, but customer service could be better. They were dismissive about some of our concerns and issues we had with the car upon return. Furthermore, it is taking forever for the safety deposit (1,500€) to return to my card. That is money I rely on and was told would be well returned by now.

Голямо разочарование! Поръчвам кола, плащам я, и на летище отказват да мия дадат, защото трябва да им платя още €25,00 за почистване! Чист рекет!
Надявам се да ми върнат парите, които преведох по банков път, защото не били получили плащане цяла седмица! Което е невъзможно! Служителите не си казват имената в офиса не летище София, Терминал 2, а от централата им бе отговарят на съобщения и имейли, по телефона трябва също дълго и настоятелно да ги търсиш, че да ти отговорят!
