DecPlay Piano (Piano Made Easy) Arvostelua 748

I deliberated for a while before purchasing DecPlay. It seemed a lot.of money for a strange new way to play the piano or keyboard. Then I decided to buy it. Wow was I glad I did and sorry I had delayed the decision. It's great, and the music school approaches were not there. A completely different way to play songs in a short time. You don't need to know the forces involved to knock a nail in wood.with a hammer. You just hit the nail with the hammer and it goes into the wood. On day one I knew which notes I needed to play a song and where the notes were on the piano. Using both hands at the same time. All I have to do then is start remembering what I was doing and I could play a tune without the music in front of me.
It took me about a week.
Don't procrastinate over buying or not, just buy it. I think you will be glad you did.

This is aimed at people like us. Late 70s,never did learn to play an instrument or read music .It is a way of playing a piano or keyboard without needing to read music.You could find a tabulated music book ie not actual music notes but tabulated to show a,b,c, etc and get the recommended keyboard note strip to fit to your keyboard but we tried that many years ago without success.
This system starts with right hand melody ,then progresses to left hand chords,and demonstrates how to play both hands simultaneously. It takes patience and practice to get your brain to do this but it works without the angst of scale practice.Wife and I ,both late 70s decided this is a perfect project to fill winter days when weather is bad and you can only read or watch TV so much in a day.
We started with Amazing Grace on Sept 4th and took 3 weeks,30 mins per day to play both melody and chords quite well. We then reviewed the next suggested songs but decided to try the most difficult in our opinion which was Danny Boy.We use “string piano” on the keyboard which elongates the notes and we think sounds nicer. We also use “broken chords” for same reason.All is demonstrated on the on line course.We have practiced both songs every day until last week when we were happy to concentrate on Danny Boy.We are not perfect yet but play melody and broken chord version better each day. However Declan’s advice not to try too many until you master one or two is crucial we think. Been there before,it doesn’t work.
We therefore are going with our pace at his recommendation and resisting the urge to move on before both hands can play reasonably together
No one learns to play piano in 8 weeks especially when you are retired age. If it was that easy every one would have learnt it at school.
Our aim is to be able to play reasonably well by spring 2026 and have moved on enough to play tunes we remember and liked in our 20s and 30s.which are available in Declan’s format.

It takes you step by step to playing with both hands with useful tips along the way.

I love to practice and feel that the music actually sounds good to me. I do not read music but have been able to follow and smooth out the pauses, as my fingers are remembering the proper keys. It is also a good mind/memory exercise.

Easier for me to learn. Had other online course in the past but did not work for me . Thanks so much.

What better way to beat the long cold winter day's and nights than sitting down in a warm room playing your piano, beats watching TV.

Easy way to start learning piano. Good explanation through videos. Decplay gives quicker results than other learning methods.

Ease of assimilating notes to keys without the additional requirement of learning traditional notation.

I would give DecPlay six STARS.
For seniors its a great hoby and makes playing keyboard with two hands possible.
The satisfaction is enormus just playing one tune I sit at the Yamaha laughing.

If you have ever wanted to play piano and need something that will get you playing within half an hour, then this is for you. I am doing the beginners course and I can already play 10 tunes within 3 months of starting!

I find the lessons easy to follow. I'm struggling with the chords as my left wrist is unable to do them and is painful which is age related. I also find the discipline needed to stick at it a challenge however, I'm up for the challenge.

Continual backup and communication with zoom calls that aids monitoring off progress, also opportunities to ask questions if stuck with anything.

Its easy to understand if you take your time .Take it at your own speed. Loads of help available. Great zoom meetings with Declan and other 'learners' like you. I love it. Just have problems with getting the left hand to keep in time with the right, but its getting there.

I absolutely love decplay, it is so user friendly and so interesting and feeling very motivated with my new course and feel like I am finally achieving something and fulfilling my dream at the age of 59 I highly recommended this course 😊 ❤️

I have never played the piano before these lessons. My only music experience has been paying classical guitar & violin 40 years ago.
I found the whole experience easy & enjoyable.
BRILLIANT instructor who made it so enjoyable. I loved the way the lessons were developed & being able to return as many times to the lessons helped a lot.

And I love it and I can play a few songs and you can recognise what I am playing, and it is so easy.

I had learnt as a child, but didn't get far. Picked this up very quickly and Declan has explained the answers to my questions. On my way to playing many songs of my choice. I'm over 60.

Easy to learn at any age but especially for the more mature student. Easy to learn whether you have or have not played the piano before. Easy to learn whether you can or cannot read music.
Just so very easy to learn and well worth the money and the investment in yourself and your leisure and your learning.

You did well but I didn’t do so well, I’m just getting back into it again. I have arthritis in my hands and I’ve had trouble with my eyes. Hopefully I will be able to start again, or play by ear.
