I have just finished the proofreading and editing course. I found the course interesting, easy to use and my tutor, Shuna, gave great advice and feedback on my work.

This review is for potential customers considering spending their hard-earned money on an online course. My son had an excellent experience with Lucy and Julian on the Copywriting course, completing it with a Distinction. They were professional, supportive and respectful, and treated him as an adult student.
His experience with Shuna on the Proofreading course was very different. From the outset, he struggled to get clear explanations about assignments and was sometimes asked to rewrite work repeatedly—on one occasion around seven times.
He requested a different tutor in September 2025, but was told, “We will talk to her.” He took a break in the hope of being assigned another tutor, but in August 2026, he was assigned to her again.
When he asked for clarification about an assignment, she responded: “LET’S TRY NOT TO BE RUDE.” He felt he was being spoken to like a child rather than treated as an adult student.
He then wrote a strong email to CMP requesting to be removed from this tutor, who continued to make what he felt were sarcastic and smirking remarks. However, instead of addressing the issue or offering an apology, CMP kept the £300 course fee and removed him from the course.

I cannot know the tutor’s intentions or whether there was any bias, but I believe his concerns should have been properly investigated, particularly after he had already requested a change of tutor in September 2025 and once again in August 2026.
When he again complained to CMP in August 2026 and asked to be transferred to another tutor, his request was refused and CMP terminated his course and retained the course fee I had paid in good faith as a gift to him.
Shuna had previously completed CMP’s Copywriting and Proofreading courses before becoming a tutor. My experience has shown me how important it is to check the course, qualification, tutor training and tutor reviews before enrolling. In my son’s experience, the way he was spoken to raised concerns about whether male students are treated respectfully.
Most seriously, instead of addressing his concerns or providing another tutor, CMP terminated his course and kept the full £300 fee, refusing to refund it.
I urge male students to consider this experience carefully before spending their money on a CMP course. I would not want another male student to experience what my son did.
COURSE: CMP describes its Proofreading and Editing course as “QLS Level 4,” but states that its courses are non-regulated and do not lead to an Ofqual-regulated qualification. Prospective students should therefore check exactly what qualification they will receive and how it is recognised in their chosen industry.

This may be particularly important for anyone hoping to use the qualification as part of a future career in journalism, publishing, proofreading, copy-editing or related employment.
Sales Tactics
I also found CMP’s repeated “Student Sale” promotions concerning. For example, an email advertised 60% off, stating that there were only four hours remaining before the offer ended, followed by further promotional offers as soon as that one ends. I purchased the course quickly because of this type of promotion, so prospective students should carefully check the actual price and terms before buying. Now they are sending emails for flexi pay as well.
Most importantly, I am still waiting for the nearly £300 course fee I paid, which CMP has retained after terminating my son’s course and refusing a refund. I will now have to find another way to recover the full amount.
In my experience, the biggest concern is that when a student has a serious problem with a tutor and asks to be moved to another tutor, the student will be removed from the course while CMP keeps the course fee.

From start to finish, my experience with CMP has been exceptional. The initial online registration and payment were fast and efficient, giving me instant access to my materials. I finished my course, and received my diploma within a few days! The entire process was seamless, professional, and highly rewarding. I highly recommend them!

A very well structured copywriting course, providing a good balance of content and a range of assignments. The course tutor gave clear and constructive feedback to allow for development and progression throughout. I would definitely recommend this course to anyone thinking of becoming a certified copywriter!

I took the proofreading and editing course, which was very well structured and proved to be both challenging and rewarding. Alongside giving a great introduction to these skills, the course also provides a wealth of useful links and information on how to get into the industry.

The course was very interesting and helpful, with the assignments helping put the knowledge into practice. To make the content even more engaging, it would be great to incorporate some more video content into the learning materials.

The course was constructed in an easy format, with each lesson building on the last. I enjoyed the learning and found the assignments challenging but accessible. The communication with tutors was excellent.

I was very happy with my experience doing a distance learning course in copywriting with CMP. I had a lot of support from my tutor, and the company as a whole. And I felt that the course really directed me in the way I needed to go in order to become a certified copywriter. The assignments were practical, thought-provoking and perfectly geared to the type of written word that would be required of me in the real world. And now I look forward to forging ahead with a diploma under my belt to make it in the world of copywriting thanks to CMP!

My experience with the college was very insightful. The whole process helped to boost my knowledge and confidence. The tutor was excellent. He assisted me to understand the assignments. The material was easy to digest, each lesson broken into concise sections that clearly explain what it is teaching. The guidance from my tutor was also excellent, giving me the assurance that I was on the right path with my approach. And the support staff were able to resolve a technical issue that popped up quickly. Overall, a fantastic experience!

I thoroughly enjoyed completing the Copywriting Course with College of Media & Publishing. I have just completed the CMP course on Copywriting and I had wonderful experience on this course.

I signed up for the course during that limbo between graduating from university and finding my first job. Since I wanted to branch out from graphic design into a more marketing-based role, this course helped guide me through some really key elements that have been so beneficial for me since actually starting a role in marketing.

I enjoyed the balance between guided assignments where the topic/theme is provided, and the opportunity to be creative and pick my own topic to write about.

I'd recommend this course to anyone who values learning with a clear structure and proactive feedback, thanks to my tutor Julian who was so prompt and helpful :)
