I had two holidays cancelled during lockdown and was told I would be refunded. I kept chasing them up and was ignored or fobbed off until I was outside of the section 75 refund rules. Now they get to keep my money! Bar stewards!

Absolute con. They are not £9.50 at all and there are no dates or holidays left during school hols, I havent come across 1 holiday for £9.50 per person yet. Will never ever buy the sun newspaper again. Its a big scam!!!

We booked Parkdean Barmston Beach through Sun holidays for four nights from sixth September 2021.On entering our caravan the smell was terrible.It was foisty and had been over bleached to try to remove it.The fridge was so small we would’nt have got a quarter of our food in.The caravan must have been over thirty years old and looked like it was stuck in a eighties time warp.Reception were no help so we went home one hour after we arrived.We paid ninety nine pounds for an upgrade and dread to think what a basic caravan would have been like.Margaret Lobley.

I would never ever book or even spend a penny on the sun paper . This is completely misleading and different way of scamming. I booked a place not knowing that it’s not a caravan park . It didn’t even say which park it is , such as park holidays or parkdean. I assumed this is also same. But after I saw the reviews that this place is just horrible and filthy. It looks like a prison building.
Who wants to take their kids to somewhere like that? I would rather keep my kid at home. I can’t believe why it is still allowed to open for guests. I just saw the pictures. ( broken beds, dirts everywhere) I don’t need any disease from this place.
So I asked the sun to change this booking to a different place as they can understand the situation. I told them I needed a caravan it’s not showing when I booked.
Only thing they remind me about the terms and conditions which I clearly understand. But this is beyond the terms as this place shouldn’t be an option in the list. They are clearly sending people to dirty places and get money and it’s not just that . It is actually not £9.50 holiday it’s always more than that. I’m ok with that. But this place charge £14 each night as service charges on top of that. If the place isn’t clean, hygienic and safe for people, what kind of service they are giving? What they charging for? Completely rip off.
Don’t ever waste your money. They are not helpful . Only care about the money.

I belived I paid for my holiday for 3 days which I booked on 20th of last month. I received a telephone call today from Pointins, saying I need to pay the outstanding balance of £190. I was in total shock.i ask have they made a mistake. I then rung up the sun holidays, explained I have received no email saying this and I belived I paid the total as it said total holiday £90.60p.i ask if I could get a refund was told no I would just lose my money,im still so angry as my children think they are going on holiday which is absolutely digusting as its all misleading.i was also told alot of people are having this problem thinking the holiday is all paid for. I would never book again with the sun holidays and neither will my family and friends.so basically a 3 day holiday is nearly £300 plus train tickets etc, The sun advisor whom I spoke with not interested and did not care.i still can't belive this as happened.its my kids I feel sorry for😡

If I could give no stars I would! I took a gamble on a £9.50 holiday that cost just over £100 in the end which was fine. This holiday was for this Monday coming. Unfortunately my son has just tested positive for covid and as a result we are not allowed to go away as we are all Isolating!!! I have called in to try and get a refund as this is not any fault of ours and we are LEGALLY not allowed to leave the house! Pontins have said that the sun will not do refunds for any reason what so ever! This is absolutely disgusting!
1- we only did the sun holiday as it was a cheap holiday due to covid already ruining our lives through work!
2- In this current pandemic the sun and pointins are Happy to keep your money and not refund people who legally can not attend the holiday! Even if they have evidence! It's robbery. It can't be helped. And online it states these holiday are covid secure!!! What ever that means then because it clearly doesn't mean you be refunded if covid stops you.
3- The only option I was given was to rebook for 22nd October!!!! We originally booked for July because this is the only time we can get off! It's totally inconvenient and not at all possible for us to do that! Not that the sun or pointing care about that.
4- I just can't get over the fact they don't have things in place for these situations! I'm guessing we won't be the only ones this happens to so just imagine how much money the sun and pointins are making through this!! Absolutely robbing people knowingly!
5- JUST DONT DO IT PEOPLE!

Absolute sham of a company. Firstly the £9.50 holiday cost us £205. It was cancelled initially due to the pandemic and we were offered full money back, or to book next year with confidence under Haven’s covid booking guarantee. So we rebooked. Actually had to pay more when we rebooked as all weekday holidays were sold out, had to book a weekend trip instead which cost more money for less days.

7 days before arrival we were contacted by Haven to say that our check in time was 7-8pm, and we couldn’t go into the park or use the facilities until our check in time. So effectively one day of our holiday that we’ve paid for has been taken away. We decided to take advantage of the money back guarantee and applied to cancel our holiday. Haven said the sun have to give us our money back. The sun said they can’t give money back as they have to pay Haven whether we go on the holiday or not. Called Haven back who said the sun had terrible T&Cs and if they would agree to a refund then Haven would happily give the money back. Called the Sun again and spoke to an incredibly condescending man who outright refused to let me talk to even contact Haven to try and get my money back. He didn’t have any real reason why they wouldn’t give me my money back, besides stating that they never have and never will give refunds.

Sham of a company who couldn’t care less about their customers. Avoid at all costs.

Booked a holiday to Butlins Through The Sun in August , Cancelled in NOVEMBER Due to the pandemic . Opted for a refund - due to been pregnant with baby due in May .

I have still not recieved my refund from TheSun although I have contacted them 4 times to be told that my paperwork was in a processing pile and it should be refunded in a few days. This was over 2 week ago. I paid on the 20th August.

I have received all my payment refund from the additional payment I made direct to Butlins, and Butlins have advised me they have refunded TheSun.

There phone lines are now off til Mid Feb.

Absolutely Appalling to say some people may be in financial difficulties in the middle of a pandemic.

I have now completed a online form , as there are no email addresses to contact, and have contacted my bank .

FIRST AND LAST TIME I WILL EVER BOOK THROUGH SUN HOLIDAYS AGAIN !!!!!! STEER CLEAR

I have used sun holidays several times now but recently I booked a long weekend stay only to be told 3 weeks before that due to over allocation my holiday had been cancelled and was offered the option to rebook or recieve a refund. I asked for a refund and was informed this would be back on my card within 28 days. 28 days have now passed with no refund and I have also emailed regarding my refund and recieved no response. They cancelled my holiday and I see 28 days for a refund on a holiday they cancelled excessive and this has not arrived within the given timeframe. Totally unacceptable and will be going to my credit card company for a refund........ Holiday with these again??? NOT A CHANCE!. Steer clear!!

Eventually I recieved my refund..... or part of it anyway, they decided to keep the booking fee I paid.
