Kim the driver was exceptional from start to finish ,

Here are the things that made this a 5 star experience:
1. The bus arrived well before our departure time.
2. The driver was absolutely professional and personable.
3. The bus was spacious, clean, and comfortable.
4. The driver was available to bring the bus back to the zoo for early pick up when the heavy rain started.
5. The driver rerouted us on the way home to avoid heavy traffic.

On the trip leaving Yuma the two different companies provided excellent coaches with great drivers and they were at the church on time. On the return trip however we only had one driver that was the same. So the pick up information that was emailed earlier was not provided to the two new drivers. We had youth and adults waiting for the last bus to arrive. It was quite stressful because I could not get anyone in the office to answer the phone for quite some time. The phone reception where I was at was terrible and I had to climb up on a hill and wait there for someone to answer the phone. I was told on either Thursday or Friday that if I needed something on Saturday, my contact person would be working and would be able to reach her. I tried her extension number several times and finally went through to the main operator. A gentleman finally answered and was able to provide me helpful information and the phone number of the new coach driver. So after 45 minutes of stressful worrying, the coach showed up. We all made it to Yuma safe and we are grateful.

On time, usually early for pickup

The driver was very rude. He would not keep the temperature inside the bus according to 36 passengers request. Would not open the bus when waiting outside the bus.

I began working with Charter up in late February. I found it was best to speak with a person rather than try to communicate on line. Everyone I spoke with was very helpful! 5 stars!!! We did switch to a smaller bus about 2 weeks before our trip. When to bus arrived it was not as clean as we expected. There were clothes, blankets, food and alcohol in the bins which did not belong to us but took up room. Some of the seats were damaged which made it uncomfortable for us. The driver was difficult to communicate with in English although we had a different driver for the second day. If we rent a bus again for this trip I will be more specific about cleanliness and condition of the bus.

Booking was easy, the staff was prompt to respond to questions, and the service was top-notch.

When I had trouble with the return trip, Tia saved the day! Quickly and efficiently she changed itinerary and recovered a bus

Do NOT Use CharterUp

I am a small tour operator. Most of the time we use vans, but sometimes we charter buses for larger groups.

Twelve years ago, I had a bad experience with a bus broker, US Coachways. Less than 24 hours before departure, they told me the bus company had canceled and a replacement would cost 50% more. I paid. I had no choice and swore off bus brokers.

Three years ago, I reluctantly used CharterUp for a tour in Texas. Despite being a broker, it went smoothly.

This year, I booked and prepaid a bus through CharterUp for another weeklong tour. At 7:30 PM the night before pickup, CharterUp informed me that the underlying carrier, Azteca, had canceled. They offered a replacement bus costing 55% more, though they would "cover" part of the increase, leaving me to pay 35% more. They gave me one hour to respond. By the time I reached them about 70 minutes later, they said they had released the replacement bus and my only option was a refund.

The explanations for the cancellation were inconsistent. One representative cited selective cancellations; the next day a supervisor said Azteca claimed a DOT compliance issue. Neither explanation inspired confidence.

With 25 clients waiting to travel, I scrambled to arrange alternative transportation. I ultimately found an independent operator and completed the trip, but only after significant stress and an additional $3,068 in costs. CharterUp refunded my original payment but provided no compensation for the extra expenses caused by the cancellation.

My concerns with CharterUp are:

* Last-minute cancellations followed by much more expensive alternatives.
* Inconsistent communication.
* Inadequate oversight of carriers.
* Failure to stand behind a fully prepaid reservation despite marketing promises of reliability and 24/7 support.

My advice: work directly with reputable bus operators whenever possible and avoid broker networks. Use AI to find bus companies NOT working with CharterUp.

The driver was very careful & helped us get on and off the bus.
He was prompt to pick us up & return us home.
The company needs to have a step stool available because the bus doesn't kneel & the steps are very high.

we were very pleased with the how prompt the drive's were both of them showed up early. They were friendly, courteous, great drivers. will definitely use them again, Thank you.
