Charlton and Jenrick Arvostelua 

Our Charlton and Jenrick experience began in May this year as we docked on our cruise ship in Lerwick!!
My wife and I decided not to wait for the complimentary bus into the town and we walked the short distance.
We passed a large windows furniture shop and on one of the window ledges they were selling cute sheep made from twisted metal, we both said that would make a unique gift for our daughter back home.
On our walk back to the cruise ship we called into the store and purchased two of the mentioned sheep.
Making our way back to the exit we had taken a wrong turn and ended up in their electric fire section and lo and behold we found the exact fire that we had been looking for!!! The sales assistant gave us a demonstration and we were SOLD!! She gave us the brochure with more info, we thanked her for her assistance , but said that we lived in Lancashire, how would we possibly get our 'dream' fire home? She said there was an address in the back, give them a ring and see if they have a store closer to home?!
We arrived home and within two days we had located a shop not five miles away, after viewing the same fire and being told it came in a slightly bigger size, we had signed the paperwork and six weeks later it had been installed in our lounge!! BEAUTIFUL !!!

I recently purchased a gas fire, a Paragon Focus HE Slide Control NG Coal with Cast Arch Fascia Chrome Highlight through Charlton and Jenrick. Unfortunately, on use of the fire the vapours emerging from the vents on start-up were excessive and immediately created oxidation on the fascia which discoloured and needed to be wiped off after use when cool.
The view of Charlton and Jenrick was that this was something I was to expect and was not an issue for them.
I was never made aware of and could find no information in the brochures to indicate that I would need to wipe down the fascia every time I used this fire. I was extremely disappointed in the response of Charlton and Jenrick who could not explain how I could have been made aware of this feature of their fire. Needless to say, if I had been made aware I would not have purchased it but would have purchased another.

Stove looks great but have not used it yet so can’t comment on its performance.
Good documentation but still not sure what model I have as instruction cover several models

We have had an Infinity HD 800 gas fire for four years, paying around £4k for it. While it looks great, it has been a constant and expensive disappointment. We have had pilot lighting failures, electrical problems, logs breaking without any contact and now a failed remote, which will have to be replaced with a new remote and control unit. The only positive and reason this guy as 2 and not as 1 is the call-out and office staff have been great. It was too expensive to have such a poor experience.

The engineers arrived punctually, got on with the work and had replaced my old outdated gas fire and fireplace by lunchtime. They worked hard, were conscientious, cleaned up after themselves and were polite. They did a brilliant job and I am very happy with with the end result.

I have recently had an Edge balanced-flue gas stove installed. The fire itself is lovely and looks really good, however, it can only be operated by a battery controlled remote control which is cheap and flimsy. The fire was installed in December 2025 and I’m already on my second remote. It’s forever ‘unpairing’ itself with the fire and is generally not of a good quality. The fire would be MUCH better if it could be operated without a remote control. Such a shame because I wouldn’t recommend the fire purely because of a cheap, unreliable remote control which spoils it.
