CHAPTER2 Bikes Arvostelua 91

This is going to be an EASY review!!! I was in the market for a new road bike, as a friend of mine got me into group bike riding in the summer of last year, 2023. I enjoyed riding, but the bike that I initially purchased was a heavy, clunky and slow aluminum starter bike. I routinely got dropped on almost every group ride that I participated in, while I rode on that bike. All of that changed when my eldest son brought me my very first aero bike as a present for my 49th birthday !!! It was a Chapter 2 Koko !!!
I took delivery of the Koko in February of 2024. I still had my newbie legs which experienced some serious cramping on my first ride of the season. I was excited, and might have pushed myself and my quadriceps a little too hard. :-) Well, after my legs got a little stronger after that experience, I was able to keep up with the group on all subsequent group rides, beautifully !!! Oh my, do I like how my Koko performs !!! It is very light: nimble; dangerously fast on the flats; magnificent on climbs; and on the downhills, you really can see how the aerodynamics of this speed machine sets this bike apart from the rest of the big name brand bikes out there. I am sooo happy with my bike, as you can probably tell. I like it A LOT !!! As far as comfort goes, I once rode my Koko for a little over 125 miles in one day, and I felt fine. I can not think of ANY downside about this bike !!! I like the Chapter 2 brand so much as a result, that I am thinking about purchasing a Toa in the future. 
If you are in the market for a VERY fast aero bike that is beautiful, comfortable, and very well designed, consider the Chapter 2 Koko and the line up that Chapter 2 has to offer. Excellent purchase experience with the local dealer (Wrench Science in Berkeley). The follow up from the Chapter2 CEO himself was a nice bonus (after I registered the frameset), not something I had expected, so it was a very nice surprise. I'm a big fan of small boutique brands, and Chapter2 fits my criteria. The bike itself is fantastic, it looks so beautiful! WS did a great job building it, and the frameset and handlebars go so well together. The purchase experience was excellent.

Chapter2 makes fantastic bikes. They are beautiful, light, and stiff with high production quality. If anything does goes wrong they stand behind their products. We have 2 Toa’s and 1 Tere!

I am not a professional, just a common amateur I have chapter 2 ans another very famous brand ridden by the today nr 1 in the uci … however ch2 gives me the same performances with a more comfortable ride… beside ch2 gives the best support I ever experienced compared to any other brand or product, keep it this way!

I purchased my Chapter2 TOA in 2024 and could not be happier. I worked with a local bike builder and after considering options from Cervelo, Factor, ENVE, Specialized, Mosaic, and Titci, we went with the TOA. Made the right decision as the ride is smooth, compliant, responsive and loves to be ridden fast. It is stiff in all the right places and descends like it's on rails, giving me the confidence to go even faster. This bike is way more than a paint job although standing out at the coffee shop is a nice touch.

Having access to Mike Pryde is not just a perk. He is passionate about his bikes and customers and is there to answer any questions you have. If you want something unique that will have no issues lining up against world tour bikes, Chapter2 is the bike for you.

Chapter 2 was incredible to buy a bike from, as their customer service is even better than their incredible bikes.

I ordered an XL Kaha after speaking to them directly about its size and to my bike fitter. This was my first frame-up build and I had several questions as I built the bike. They were always quick to respond either via text or email.

Absolutely zero complains about the entire process and stoked to now own one of the most unique bikes in my home town.

Frankly, I was just looking for a solid frame that wouldn't break my budget. So, initially it was price that was the driving factor for my purchase of an origin series Huru. Turns out, Chapter2 North America is located here in my city. So, when I reached out about the frame, I was connected with Clive de Sousa. Not only did I get the frame I wanted tailored to my exact component specifications, I also received excellent support in person from Clive. Oh, did I mention that the frame and Mana bars are absolutely beautiful and a joy the ride? I've ridden high end Specialized, Giants, and Felt bicycles for decades. This Huru might just be my forever bike.

Chapter2 is a wonderfully progressive company in terms of beautiful products (art as bicycle) at a fair price, a group of people (owner, regional representatives) who clearly care about what they are producing and selling, and an inviting website. US representative Clive de Sousa provided an exceptional purchasing experience of a white+gold TOA. Based on published frame geometry, I strongly considered size L as good for me, but Clive insisted that the L would have various problems in fit -- which he described in excellent detail; I followed his recommendation for the XL, and he was correct on every detail. Other decisions (handlebar, stem, wheels, tires, crank length, pedals, and drive train) were approached in the same way. We used email-based discussion and voice when needed to clarify or further explore. Clive knew that I was not fully happy with the originally available TOA frame in terms of the colorway; a different color became available and although the unhappy frame had already arrived from the company, he happily facilitated the switch. Clive's knowledge of the bicycle industry, product comparisons, riders, and bike fit perspectives made for an excellent purchase process, an excellent further education for me into bicycle details, and of course an incredibly beautiful bicycle that performs in exactly the way I was looking for.

ONE DAY LATER AFTER THE ABOVE: I want to add that I would readily and eagerly buy another complete bike through Clive as a knowledgeable guide, and I would without reservation also recommend a C2 frameset. Online reviewers of C2 framesets have stated that the paint quality has to be seen to be fully appreciated; these are understatements. It is artwork.

Last bike I did build was in 2019 and still rim brake. Disk brakes did grow on me and I was finally ready to build a disc bike but still was waiting for the wow/aha moment I need to pull the trigger. Spending time at my buddies bike shop the Gear Attic he mentioned he just became an official Chapter 2 dealer and opened up your website. Here it was the wow moment when I saw the Toa and the nice looking paint jobs. One hour later after steading the geometry the decision was made and a frame order placed. One week later the frame arrived in a nice box and well packed. I was very impressed of the carbon and paint finish. Everything assembled perfectly and the T47 bb is a welcome Standard. I had one 60 mile ride so far and from the first moment I felt right at home on the bike. The bike is snappy and still very stable and cross winds at higher speed affect the bike very little. Set up with 60/67mm carbon wheels tubeless feels like riding with suspension. I like being different and riding a bike you don’t see on every group ride. The Toa gives me exactly that. I could not be more happy with this beautiful build and look forward to many miles of riding pleasure. I also like the personal touch this company offers.

The dealer while small has been good and knows allot about bicycling. I would recommend anyone looking to purchase a bike consider a Chapter 2.

Purchased an AO in 2021. Its the best bike for comfort and versatility I have had and I have been riding since I was a kid (60+ years!) In fact, I have enjoyed it so much I purchased a second AO 2 years later as a holiday home bike. I ride mostly on the road and have the bikes set up as such. Smooth ride with a relaxing geometry yet stiffness and flex that equates, for me, to a ride that allows speed, control and snappiness for club riding while longer endurance pleasure rides that are equally suited to this bike. Oh and the customer service is second to none. Mike Pryde answers nearly all my questions and enquiries in a helpful and timely matter. Try one of Chapter 2 models, you will not be disappointed.

My journey to the ownership of a Chapter2 Koko started with a pursuit to find an affordable aero bike frameset with clearance for 32mm tires and without the ridiculously low and long geometry found on most race bikes. I also wanted a bike with an integrated cockpit that allowed for spacers above the stem, to allow for future fit adjustments as desired. The mana handlebar dimensions fit me well too with a short reach and a slight flare. The geometry has clearly been well thought through from Chapter2.
I sent an enquiry through the website contact form with a few questions, and it was Mike the founder who answered and gave me confidence to go ahead with the purchase.
The purchase experience was a little odd, but that may have been my desktop browser setup. I initially tried to purchase using the Chrome browser and that failed, but using the Safari browser worked. The experience was a little jarring as it also redirects you to a third party payment provider to complete the purchase, but I got there in the end and Mike confirmed the order.
The frameset arrived to my door in Colorado in about a week’s time, and thankfully it had been shipped with care with no damage to the box. It was immediately apparent how pretty the paintwork and finishing is on both the frame and the handlebar.
I ran into a small issue with the build process whereby the bottom bracket threads required a slight use of a tapping tool from a local bike shop. No biggie and easily solved. Everything else on the frame was excellent - disc brake caliper mounts, paintwork, the headset bearings fitted in well.
The Chapter2 Koko rides very smoothly for an aero bike. Within a short space of time, I was descending confidently at speeds in excess of 50mph, riding fast pacelines and then some dirt roads too, and the bike handles everything quietly, without any fuss and without any creaks.
The Koko is an excellent bike and there is probably only one thing I would change on it, and that is the seatpost binder that allows for the adjustable compliance. I found this not particularly intuitive to use and it is a little awkward - I would have preferred to lose the adjustability and instead have the simplicity of a more regular seatpost binding.
I would absolutely recommend Chapter2 and would encourage anyone with questions to ask through their website.

I have been riding my Chapter 2 Rere for the last 2 years. The quality of the frame, fit and finish have been excellent. There are zero rock chips on the frame and the paint holds up really well. The paint job on the frame really stood out as people kept asking what it is as it has beautiful paint job instead of just black or gray or white color. I have many bikes that I own….a Mosiac RT1, 2015 Specialized S Work Venge and a Cinelli Strato. Chapter 2 Rere is the fastest bike out of the 4 and my Strava confirms that. In term of “feel” only my Mosiac RT1 feels livelier up the hill but the Rere is not far behind. And this is an aero bike! The bike is very responsive both on the flat and on the hill. The responsiveness of the frame is very similar to my Cinelli which is not surprised as both frames use Toray 700/800 carbon. It is also quite comfortable over long rides and the geometry is perfect for me. I had to replace the original set back seat post with zero set back seat post and also replace the original Mana1 bar (100mm/42cm) with Mana2 bar (100mm/40cm). I had local bike shop replace the handlebar and they ran into issue with the headset cap fitment. I contacted Chapter 2 and I was able to get my question answered within a day. And I was surprised that the person that helped me was Michael Pryde. The standout quality of Chapter 2 for me has to be customer service. I always got my questions answered within a day (and Michael was the one help me everytime!). And parts I ordered arrived within 3-4 days! Faster than parts I ordered locally! Overall I really enjoyed owning my chapter 2 Rere. It is a great riding bike, beautiful to look at, great fit and finish that back up with great customer service. I am sure if I consider buying another frame it will be another Chapter 2!
