Such a special experience from start to finish. Catherine Deane’s premises at the Wapping wall are just beautiful. Everything is curated so carefully, from the dreamy scent as you walk in to the way the gowns are arranged and the beautiful dressing rooms. Gamze, our consultant, was very welcoming and offered us a glass of Prosecco as we admired the view out the window to the river. She was very knowledgeable about the styles and helped me pick out some dresses that would suit my shape. She allowed us to take photos and do a FaceTime call with my mum in Scotland to involve her. I love the dress I picked and feel confident it is the one! Thank you - I can’t wait to wear it on the big day!

The studio is beautiful and our stylist Sophia was amazing - she was very engaged and tuned in to what I needed to pick the right dress. She steered the appointment enough that it was well structured and a lot easier than it otherwise would've been, but also while giving me all the space I needed to make the right decisions and not drag things out. The collection is smaller than some other shops but if you know you like what they offer it doesn't make a huge difference - you need to narrow it down in the end. Again, the studio itself is lovely and the riverside view really adds to the romantic atmosphere! Thanks Sophia, you rock :)

Zun was so amazing and made my experience so easy. She knew exactly what would work and I ended up loving it and can’t wait to wear it on my wedding day.

Lia was incredibly helpful, and assisted me in locating a gown which has just been discontinued. If it weren't for her, I don't believe I would have found it and I had my heart set on it. Thank you Lia, you were wonderful and I can't wait to wear such a gorgeous piece on my special day. 10/10

Phee was great and made the whole process really relaxing and fun. I came back 3 times as I wanted to bring different people. Phee was really patient each time and didn't mind that we over ran. She was great with my nieces and really included them in the day. The Catherine Deane dresses, separates and toppers are just stunning. Only problem is there's too much choice.

The whole experience from trying on dresses to collecting my dream dress was so lovely. Zun was amazing, she gave honest opinions, she made the experience really enjoyable and she was super helpful. I would highly recommend them to any future brides!

Okay let me start by saying the dress quality is very good especially for the price. I enjoyed visiting the show room, it was a nice place and the attendant was very kind and helpful. She worked with what she had in store and did make a very nice arrangement for me. But it wasn’t what I wanted, I’m not looking for a bespoke dress. Or to have bits from different garments pinned to styles I hadn’t chosen.
I just wanted to try a few shapes and fabrics to get a feel for what I want to wear. I knew this may be a challenge as a UK size 16. (My wedding isn’t until 2026 so we have the luxury of time)

But let me level with you ladies. If you are a UK size 14 or higher this is not the place for you.
As most of the sample size dresses are more suited to a size 12-14 at the absolute most and you will have to sort of get an idea based on lots of pins to padded fabric.

I felt like I was dressed as a plus size girl, how the industry and perhaps a thinner woman without boobs thinks I would want to dress.
With thick strapped bodices to tuck my boobs into a relatively plain and un-elegant bodice (just makes them look bigger and matronly) and covered in fabric. Thick waistbands (which detract away from my actual shape). I also would avoid suggesting capes to curvy women. It is not a good look.

They do have larger sizes in stock but their very plain and you will get more variety elsewhere. I genuinely believe that our lady (Zun) did what she was trained to do, and she did it well and was very kind and professional throughout. I am not writing this as a negative reflection on her service which was I’m sure an industry standard.
(I know this now having spoken to my sister who also worked in a boutique bridal store).

It reflects a wider problem of how plus size women and plus sized bodies are perceived.
I say this as a curvy size 14-16. I didn’t take it personally but I felt that it might be good to draw attention to this issue for the designer.
I don’t know that it’s so much a Catherine Deane thing as it is a fashion industry thing.
But if your going to claim you stock standard sizes you need to be able to let a size 16 try on a dress that actually closes…? Especially as the big thing for me was to be able to get a feel for back detail.

Bottom line is - beautiful dresses, great value, nice show room, nice overall experience.

But more need to be done for them to be an inclusive brand for brides who are different shapes and sizes.
