Hassle free way to sell
This is the second car I’ve sold via the C&C web site/app. It’s easy from the start, there’s guide lines for writing your ad and the photos are easy to up load and C&C offer a service if you want a professional finish to your photos. The staff even contact you to see how the sale is progressing and if any help needed ie going to auction.

Reserve lowered without authority and deceived into re-listing my car
After the first auction failed because the NZ customer decided it would be too expensive to import the car from the UK (car value £7.5k), I was informed that the car could be re-listed and I would not be charged listing fees. I agreed to re-auction the car on the basis that this would be free. I also re-iterated that the reserve price would be the lowest I would go to. I found that towards the end of the auction, C&C lowered the reserve price (albeit by £50, but this was a specific instruction). The selling fees were still deducted from the final auction proceeds. I e-mailed C&C and stated that the only reason I agreed to the re-listing was because it would be free, but there is now radio silence on their part. On my £7.5k, C&C have made £720 from me (on top of the original fees I paid to have a professional auction listing) +£520 from the original auction winner (and a further penalty charge for not completing the sale, apparently)+£520 from the second auction winner. I will not be listing any more of the cars from my collection on this experience.

We’re sorry that the second auction left you disappointed, particularly given your understanding of what was included when you agreed to relist the car.
We’ve reviewed the auction and can clarify that the re-listing itself was provided without an additional re-listing fee. The costs associated with photography, editorial and preparation of the auction listing are separate from the commission charged when a vehicle sells, as presented by the consignor for this sale.
Reserve reductions are only actioned without discussion if it does not impact the seller’s agreed net return (the difference is absorbed through our commission). In this instance, the bidding ultimately exceeded your original reserve anyway, so the £50 reduction had no bearing on the final sale price.
We understand and regret that you’ve been unhappy with the experience, but do hope this clarifies the charges and how the reserve adjustment was handled.

Car & Classic handled the sale of my car by auction and the process was pretty straightforward. Upon receiving a successful bid, the buyer transferred the money to Car & Classic, who held it until both the buyer and myself had confirmed the transfer of the car. The money had cleared in my bank account by the following day. Great system. I can recommend selling by this method.

I sell all my cars here now.
I've increasingly been selling all my cars here at C&C. The fields are easy to populate, the prompts easy to follow (so there's no missing important data), plenty of space for images to do the talking and great email prompt feedback from when you have listed.
The only issue I had was that potential leads were 1) text messaging the phone number that protects the sellers identity or 2) reading where that number is routed through. I was not receiving the text messages and potentially losing leads when they saw the location of the phone number...
Its very minor and wouldnt stop me using C&C again!

Only one enquiry but sold the car to him.
Also placed an ad on Pistonheads (paid for) and was plagued with scammers, not a single genuine enquiry.
