Calex bulbs and mood lights and ip camera don't work only good for the bin will never buy this brand again

Calex mail gestuurd maar helaas krijg je geen antwoord
Lampen zijn goed maar service is slecht
Van de week weer eens contact proberen te maken met calex maar geen reacties
Ik ga nu over op een andere lamp

Calex smart bulbs arent all that smart...its pot luck when you turn them on whether they will stay on or just flash, this is
all around the house despite good wifi signal....theyre then a real pain to sort out, till the next time.

A company that sells their bulbs in UK stores, that requires you to download an app to use. An app that has a shop section, with products listed in GBP but sends European plugs with the products. Have been trying to return this for THREE weeks!!! Advised I could return it for free but provided no shipping label. Was then told I’d have to pay £5 to return it but then wasn’t even able to download the shipping label AFTER paying for it! Possibly the worst company ever, with crap customer service! STAY AWAY!

UPDATE (Feb 3): while it was 24 hours too late for my original review, Calex Support did contact me. The long story short is that my apparently faulty bulb has been replaced by Calex, which certainly makes me feel better. It does now need to work flawlessly for the foreseeable future to restore my confidence. But I have upgraded from 1 star to 3 to reflect the effort Calex put in to rectifying the issue.

I have a Calex ST64 Gold smart bulb. I've had it maybe two months. The app told me it needed an update "yo fix the wall switch problem", whatever that might have been. Stupidly, I agreed.

The update timed out and the bulb is now useless. I have tried, multiple times, every published process to reset the bulb to its factory settings, without success.

This morning I contacted Tech
Support but have had no engagement from them whatsoever. The bulb is, effectively useless.

My conclusions about Calex are probably blindingly obvious. I'm also disappointed that Tesco (from where I bought the bulb) chooses to stock Calex products, since it makes Tesco complicit too.

I won't be buying anything from Calex again, and wish I hadn't bothered on the occasion that I did.

Trying to find basic information on how to set up Siri voice control and tap to run. The videos are useless and don’t help. It tells you to set up tap to run then doesn’t explain how. When you search for it, it comes up with how to remove it. It is so over complicated and not user friendly. Philips Hue is way way way better. It is not set up to help UK customers at all.

I bought 10 smart security lights and had no issues installing or connecting to my phone through the app and then through Alexa. I Also bought 3 smart plug and installed with no problems.

App is a bit clunky, but I can group security light so if one PIR is tripped they all come on. I can switch them on or off permanent using the Alexa app or phone, I can use the app to switch them into PIR control. You can individually name each light so you can switch on using Alexa individually by name. I can also control the white light or warm white settings as well as the brightness. You can also set the time they are on and sensitivity of the PIR. A nice feature is when they go off they dim for 1 minute and you can control by how much. I love the feature that lets you can see the log of when the lights PIR tripped, so if they go off at night you can play back cctv and see what it was without searching through lots of video, You can set schedules to turn them on and off. I also used a Calex plug in mesh to ensure I got coverage.

You can get a plug in alarm that I think you can link to the security lights so if they trip you could be notified in the house.
The App is powerful and I think you can program if/then statement to control actions, I am trying to see how to do this. but the app is not particularly intuitive. I am sure I can do much more, but instructions on the app and even videos aren't great. Ewelink app is much better.

Overall I am very happy

You need to use an app to turn their light bulbs on and off. They make you watch adverts to turn your own light on and off. It's dystopian. Never buy a Calex product.

I purchased six Calex smart plugs. As the French gentleman with the smart bulb mentioned, all these products do is constantly go wrong for no reason. Absolute waste of money.

The company doesn't reply to emails either.

Both new and old model ceiling light broke. The old model shortly after installing within a few months all 5-6 of them. New model turns on automatically after being turned on cuz of defective internal power supply and converter.. It flickers when powered on and flickers randomly while on.

Avoid and get something else its absolutely worthless.

Support did not reply to any inquiries, they know they sell DOA products.
