These people have cause me mental health made my depression and anxiety worse sending me threatening e mails when they know I don’t work they have been informed about my mental health and have ignored it now I will expose this company for taking advantage of vulnerable people

This company is a Scam put effect on your cridit score agencies for no reason

Less than one star, or no star would be appropriate. A debt collection firm of, I suspect, crooks.
Received a letter saying I owed British Gas some figure of about £60+
I replied saying neither me or my wife has received such a bill.
Sent them email copies of actual final bill, proof of payment, and proof that I notified British Gas that the amount of the real final bill had been paid.
Then got another letter telling me to provide more evidence. My response was basically to say I would provide the information they requested if they agreed to pay me for providing it. Sending my first bill to them this week for £325 for info provided so far. Another bill will be sent next week, but I think they will eventually go away, but I won’t! Next step is police. British Gas should be ashamed allowing crooks to act in their name

Like many other people these scammers are hassling me for supposedly unpaid Corporation Tax which was paid to HMRC in full in August also confirmed by HMRC and also stated BW Legal are not part of the debt collectors list. Disgraceful that this company owned by Sean Barton act in such a way. You should be ashamed.

I am having an impossible task trying to contact them.
By phone, I am first told I'm the next client, then 15 mins later, I'm in 12th position. So I hang up, Trying to contact them by email is also proving difficult.
I am trying to contact them over an unjust parking fine.

Pretending to be a legal company is laughable

They continue to send post to my address for a several previous occupants despite multiple communications to them directly as well as marking the post and sending back to them. Update your systems this is spam!

Received letter regarding 41.56 pence for cancelling a home serve contract have tried to contact them since midday can opt for a call back 1st time 15 minutes nothing three time since 37 43 and now 53 minutes it did ring once at 15 47 and that was it the ironic thing was showing suspected scam seem to be very unprofessional to say the least well there is always tomorrow Bob frustrated from essex

I usually avoid leaving bad reviews, but this company has earned it.
I have been harassed by BW Legal over an alleged £600 parking charge dating back to 2021. This charge is completely unjustified. At the time, I stayed at an Airbnb in Southampton Ocean Village where parking was already paid for as part of the stay. I was provided with a parking badge and a fob to access the parking area.
In 2022, while applying for a mortgage, I was contacted by another legal crooks regarding this same issue and pressured into paying £270 just to make it go away so my mortgage could proceed. I paid under duress to be left alone, despite the charge being unfair.
Fast forward to late 2025, BW Legal suddenly appear demanding £600 for the same matter and threatening a CCJ. This is long after payment was made and without properly reviewing the history of the case.

I am now a homeowner and unlike before, I have both the time and the evidence to defend myself properly. This matter was already settled via the Airbnb arrangement and previous payment. BW Legal are simply late to the party and relying on intimidation rather than facts.

Unprofessional, aggressive, and careless handling of cases. I strongly advise others to be cautious.
P.S. I thoroughly enjoyed reading about BW Legal losing their case against Trustpilot. It was reassuring to see that even they couldn’t bully a review platform into silence. That little episode is exactly what motivated me to leave this honest review. If companies put half as much effort into checking facts as they do into threatening people, situations like this wouldn’t exist.

These thugs are nothing but obnoxious money loving bully boy greedy vicious dogs who believe they are invincibles and untouchables they are criminal gangsters who get a lot of enjoyment and pleasure by traumatising and annoying the Consumer these thugs are just a lowlife scumbag debt collectors pretending they are Lawyers which they are not they run an illegal and curropt Mafia organisation and must be shut down by the government their Directors are big crooks and dodgy villains and should be imprisoned this company are actually the most hated company that has actually ever existed in the U.K and they really have gone too far, I wish every bad luck for this company and wish for their bankruptcy evil thugs.

There are many good Law Firms out there but they are definitely not one of them !

Thugs for hire. I'm being scammed by a parking company and they are doing the dirty work. Provide evidence, they ask for evidence related to that evidence, and then pretend the new evidence is not enough because they refuse to put the two bits together. Going to find out how to report them to the SRA. Criminals aiding and abetting criminals.

Avoid at all cost . Clear advice if you receive a letter from this company.

Firstly B W legal have no legal powers in the UK they are not bailiff just a debt recovery company. Firstly you can refuse to deal with them and if they harass you , you report them to police and the Financial ombudsman service.

Secondly under the law the burden of proof of any debt lies with the business to prove you owe the debt and BW legal must provide you with all information this includes copies of paperwork, copies all calls you entitled to this under subject access request. Finally all this company can do is try obtain a CCJ but even if this company applies to court , the court will send you out a form so that you can dispute the money owed .

I received a Letter of Claim from BW Legal demanding £170 for an alleged parking contravention from December 2024, supposedly issued by UK Car Park Management Ltd.
The most concerning part is this: I have never received a single letter, PCN, photo, location, or any information before this “letter of claim.”

The letter BW Legal sent me did not include:
• the location of the alleged incident
• any photographs
• any evidence
• a copy of the original PCN
• a reason for the charge
• proof that earlier letters were ever sent

As a motorist, it’s impossible to understand, appeal, or respond fairly if you’re never shown what you supposedly did wrong.

This process appears highly irregular and does not resemble the proper standards expected under UK pre-action debt protocols. A Letter of Claim is supposed to give you enough information to understand the case, mine included almost nothing.

It feels extremely unfair and distressing to suddenly receive a demand for £170 almost a year later, without any opportunity to see evidence or respond earlier.
I have now formally requested all required documentation, and I hope this is simply an administrative error, but based on my experience so far, I would strongly advise others to be cautious and insist on full evidence before engaging with any payment requests.

Shockingly awful. I am a landlord and tried to set up a utilities account with BG to cover the three week void. The systems would not let me, so I used the chat bot. Not my fault that they got almost everything wrong. They did however have my contact details but failed to send me a bill when the new tenants took over. The bill for an empty property should have been about £15 but instead my former tenants got a really threatening letter from BW Legal demanding about ten times that amount. I phoned and explained that it seemed to be a BG admin error as I had given them my details, but they have now demanded date stamped photos of the meters. I would normally ask who has those, but actually I have independent dated inventory reports with meter photos. Unfortunately BWs systems only allowed me to upload one document, so I have done it twice. I am organised and plan to fight this, but the attitude, presumably encouraged by BG that the customer is guilty till proved innocent, must be very frightening for older people or those less able to fight. The whole process, starting with an aggressive legal letter rather than a bill, is inappropriate .

Update: I sent the inventory clerk's meter readings to BW legal on 19 November. I got an automatic acknowledgement that day, but have heard nothing more, despite a commitment to have a response within 28 days. It is unacceptable for them to send nasty threatening letters to former tenants over an account that BG knew I had taken over, and for them to completely fail to respond when they get the details they ask for.

Keep chasing to pay Corporation tax evenn though non is due to pay.
Keep sending threatning letters & text messages to contact them back & ther is no email for correspondence to keep record.

If I could I would give less than 0 stars. These are a bunch of crooks and criminals. How do they dare to send letters claiming payments of a British Gas bill for a property we left on January 2023? Who gave them our new address? BW Legal you are messing up with the wrong people. I will be more than likely to sue them.

Sent us horrible threatening letters demanding payment for British gas the account had been closed with British gas when we moved house, and the dates they where demanding payment for we had already moved out and wasn't even living there.

I cannot understand why this firm has not been struck of by the Law Society, chasing me for debt which I do not owe and manage to make an entry on my credit rating which I managed to get it removed. Given them ample proof that I do not owe the money but I still get emails and letters threatening legal action. My last reply was see you in court.

You exist purely to terrorise struggling people on behalf of companies like British Gas who already made hundreds of millions last year while the country can barely afford to eat or heat a home. You’re the human face of corporate rot. The vultures feeding off the misery of others.

The clowns who work here actually think typing names into a system and sending template threats makes them important. You’re not important. You’re replaceable pawns in a system built on lies. You wouldn’t last a day in the real world if the machine stopped protecting you.

BW Legal is everything wrong with this country. Soulless, greedy, robotic parasites chasing imaginary debts that have no lawful contract, no wet-ink signature, and no moral ground.

When the system finally crumbles — and it will — people will remember outfits like this. The vultures. The leeches. The paper-pushers who hid behind fake authority and ruined lives for pennies.

Avoid these parasites like the plague. If you ever get a letter from them, know this — they feed on fear. Don’t give them any.
