Superb rider experience lead by a very highly trained, highly knowedgeable lead in a brilliantly organised tour.

Excellent trip, really well organised. The riding routes were engaging and well planned, and the training over the 3 days was expertly delivered. Will absolutely book again.

This was the 2nd time I attended rider training at Royston. The staff were welcoming and created a relaxed atmosphere. I appreciated the time spent on theory and whiteboard discussion before hitting the streets. The flexibility and delivery of instruction (by Dave) was outstanding, and enticed me to return to Royston BMW to maintain and enhance my rider skills.

Fabulous 3 days all round. Great instruction and even better fun 👍

Meandering through villages and country lanes they visited five counties in a day, experiencing a variety of road situations.
The training was soft; the asphalt passively acceptant.
In the leisurely quest for café stops and fishfinger sandwiches, good progress was made...

I recently completed an Intensive 7 day DAS course at the BMW centre in Royston with no previous riding experience. I had Toby as our main instructor for the week and the instruction was absolutely brilliant. Perfectly paced and delivered - leading to a first time pass for both Mod 1 & 2. You can tell the entire team is passionate about what they do - teaching you to ride safely! At each stage I felt throughly prepared for what was next to come - and the benefit of doing it intensively is you really have time to practice the skills learned, and iron out any issues while it’s fresh in your mind. I work in a safety critical industry, and chose BMW as I know how important it is to lay the best foundations early on in any new skill. If you’re thinking about learning to ride - they will teach you way beyond the basic requirements to pass the test. Thanks for a great week - and a special thanks to Toby again for being such a great instructor!

Great course and brilliant instructor

Best week I have had in a long time. The instructors are brilliant. You see there passion for riding and teaching to ride well not just pass the test. The facility’s, bikes and gear are brilliant.

I did the 5 day intensive DAS course and the experience was far more enjoyable than I ever could have expected. The instructors were professional and friendly and incredibly patient and the tuition felt very personal. I've heard some horror stories about other riding schools but I really couldn't fault BMW rider training in any way.

I just completed a week of training with these guys and wanted to share how impressed I was.

From start to finish, the whole experience was delivered with a level of professionalism that genuinely sets them apart from other training providers. Everything was well structured, clearly communicated, and ran exactly as it should.

A special thank you to Bob, who was not only a fantastic instructor but also an absolute pleasure to learn from. His teaching style really suited the way I learn. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better to guide me this week.

I’ve come away feeling far more confident and capable, which is exactly what you want from this kind of training.

I’ll have no hesitation in recommending them to others. I’ll definitely be back in a couple of years to complete my full licence.

I have just finished my 7 day intensive course with BMW at Royston and can’t say enough good things! I had a little bit of experience with bikes but had never ridden properly on the road and it had been over 15 years since then.

Thanks to the excellent instruction and mentoring from all of the team at Royston I was able to get my CBT and pass my MOD1 & 2 on the first try and can’t thank them all enough for their patience and commitment throughout the week. The instructors are all top-notch teachers. Helpful, instructive, patient, empathetic (when I needed it). Absolutely no issue when I dropped my bike twice (sorry about that!). All the bikes and riding gear are BMW top-quality.

I enthusiastically recommend BMW Rider Training to anyone who wants motorcycle training.

Toby was a very friendly and experienced instructor who prepared us for an excellent exam.

The facility is professional and comfortable and so are the bikes.

What a fantastic experience. I enrolled on the DAS guaranteed pass course as an older female with no bike experience at all except being absolutely terrified of them. The staff at the riding school are full of encouragement and patience. I started the journey on a 310 bike which is no tiny machine and passed the CBT and progressed to the F800GSA, I was terrified of it and STORM Benjamin stopped play on day 5 which meant the tests could not go ahead. The course was parked until after Christmas. In January I upgraded the course to 1-1 tuition and the dedication of Ian the Instructor is second and none and I cannot recommend him highly enough. I am now the proud owner of a full A Licence. All the instructors at this riding school are fantastic and full of encouragement, they are friendly and knowledgeable and make you feel at ease. If you want to learn to ride don’t look anywhere else and also there is some stunning countryside to enjoy whilst you are learning.

A little late but I can’t recommend BMW Motorcycle Training in Royston highly enough. The facilities were excellent, the bikes were in perfect condition, and the training itself was top‑tier. What really stood out, though, was David Welch. His depth of knowledge, calm manner, and ability to break down complex skills into simple, practical steps made the entire experience exceptional. David created a relaxed atmosphere that boosted confidence and made learning genuinely fun. A well‑deserved five stars.

We had Stan in Exeter as the instructor and he was incredible, really patient and kept making jokes during our mock tests and was a genuinely nice guy. Those of us who were on the course were quite nervous at times but he made the time to help encourage us and show us some different tricks to get it right. Never once made us feel bad or like we couldn’t do it, hats off to him, he’s a great instructor and thanks to his patience and dedication we all passed the course and got our full licences. Thanks again Stan!

Attended the 6 day DAS course. I can’t say enough good things about the facilities, bikes and the quality of the instruction - all of which were outstanding. With the exception of a few hours on a 125 for my CBT I hadn’t ridden a motorcycle for over 40 years, but after 5 days I felt really well prepared for the Mod 1 & 2 on day 6 which I managed to get through without too much stress. First class in every regard.

If there's better rider training in the UK, I'd be really surprised. From start to finish, everything about my experience was top-notch. I wanted an experience where I felt safe whilst making progress through the training & that was delivered consistently throughout the week. My instructor (Toby) was first class throughout & his communication style made it easy to understand. Everything was provided...all the kit and the bikes were very clean, facilities superb. I've gone from zero riding experience to full A licence in 7 days and am looking forward to getting out there. If you're looking for the very best rider training, you've found it!

Really good and enthusiastic instructors with great kit and amazing bikes. The location is perfect for learning offering a mix of roads and its own secure area for learning slow control. The instruction is first class and you are taught more than just being able to pass a test. You are taught how to ride! This was an experience I wont forget and I would highly recommend.

Don’t think of this as an amount of money in order to quickly pass your test. It’s much more about passing your test and being over prepared/safe for the road
