Black Steel Doors Arvostelua

Unfortunately, despite my repeated efforts to reach a reasonable resolution, my experience with Black Steel Doors remains very negative and extremely disappointing.

The single door was manufactured with the wrong handing/opening direction. I acknowledge that we approved the final technical drawings; however, our architect's original drawings showed the correct configuration. In my experience, BSD's drawings did not make the handing, hinge position and opening direction sufficiently clear for a non-expert customer to easily identify the discrepancy.

After numerous emails trying to reach a compromise and share responsibility, I eventually agreed to pay the full £1,350 + VAT requested by BSD to remanufacture (a partial remanufacture) the door, simply to move forward and stop wasting my time with something they would have never agreed on. Responses frequently took several days and often required numerous follow-ups.
I have also been charged for two additional installation visits because the double doors and remanufactured single door are now being installed separately.

Earlier in this process, following my initial negative review, I was also told during a telephone call that unless I removed that review, BSD would not provide further service.

I genuinely wanted to resolve this positively and have a good feeling about the project I care so much about. I would have been very happy to update my previous review to reflect a satisfactory final outcome, but unfortunately the subsequent experience has not given me the opportunity to do so. This is why I am leaving a new review reflecting what has happened since.

Today is finally the scheduled installation of the double doors. The appointment was for 9am and, at the time of writing, I am still waiting for the installation team to arrive.

After all the attempts to compromise, additional costs and continued delays, I remain extremely disappointed and, based on my experience, I definitely would not recommend this company to anyone.

Beautiful product, expertly installed and pleasure to work with the whole team. Would go back!

Excellent fire rated doors fitters were very professional and tidy very pleased with Communication and product highly recommend

Annoying unsolicited spam from their CEO, clearly mislead into thinking I am an architect but not realising there's zero chance that I am buying any doors.

Unsolicited emails like this are annoying and they should work smarter.

Recommended by our architect due to previous positive experience. The finished product is stunning (although as yet unfinished). The whole process and communication has been poor. Several delays due to installation cancellation by BSD. Initial set of doors had to be re-made due to discrepancies with agreed design and function. Still waiting for a panel of scratched glass to be replaced. Have had to chase BSD at every stage of the process. No further contact from the company to complete the job for several weeks.

One of the best companies I dealt with as part of my renovation - super responsive, always helpful, turned up when then said they would and a really high quality product. I love the doors - they turned out even better than I imagined!

Building regulations required FD30 fire doors to be installed during total refurbishment of our two bed flat. Fearing this would ruin the whole design aesthetic, I set out to find a solution. Crittall style doors offered the style solution but not within budget. I stumbled across Black Steel Doors and after visiting the showroom in Wembly, the adventure began. From start to finish this company excelled. The Customer Service was very personal throughout keeping me updated and making our project feel special. The fitters were highly professional, clean and efficient and went out of their way to find a solution to an issue with the flooring catch. The workmanship can be seen at a glance and the doors have added a contemporary feature that all visitors comment on. I cannot recommend Black Steel Doors highly enough, working with them was a pleasure.

We have specified products from Black Steel Doors for two projects now and are very happy with the results. The products are of an excellent quality, and the main contractor fed back how professional the installation team were - taking care not to damage nearby finishes. We researched various fabricators for Crittall style products, and found Black Steel Doors were able to give more options than others - which gave us more design flexibility. Lead in times are generally long, which needs to be factored into the overall programme.

Recently had sliding doors installed by this company, and I couldn't be more pleased. The doors glide smoothly, and the finish is simply beautiful. They make such a difference to the light in my home. Highly recommend

Excellent service, quality workmanship and materials provided. We are very pleased we used your company, which came highly recommended by a friend of ours.
Thank you again Julian

Our new doors from Black Steel Doors are amazing! The service was excellent, the quality is superior, and the personal attention we received made the whole process smooth and enjoyable. Highly satisfied!

Our experience with Black Steel Doors has been nothing short of exceptional. From the very first consultation to the final installation, the team demonstrated a level of professionalism and attention to detail that is rare in today's market. The quality of the doors themselves is simply outstanding; they are robust, beautifully crafted, and add a significant aesthetic appeal to our home. What truly set Black Steel Doors apart, however, was their personal approach. They took the time to understand our specific needs and preferences, providing tailored recommendations and ensuring that we were completely satisfied at every stage of the process. We felt genuinely valued as customers, and it's clear that customer satisfaction is a top priority for them. We couldn't be happier with our decision to choose Black Steel Doors and highly recommend them to anyone in need of high-quality doors and exceptional service.

Choosing Black Steel Doors was one of the best decisions we made during our home renovation. From the moment we contacted them, we were impressed by their professionalism and dedication. The team was incredibly knowledgeable and guided us through every step of the process, from selecting the right style to the final installation. The quality of the doors is second to none; they are sturdy, secure, and absolutely beautiful. What really impressed us, though, was the personal approach taken by the team. They listened to our concerns, answered all our questions with patience, and ensured that we felt comfortable and informed throughout the entire process. The level of customer care was outstanding, making us feel like we were their top priority. We are extremely pleased with our new doors and the overall experience with Black Steel Doors. They truly stand out in their industry.

Black Steel Doors delivered on all fronts. The service was outstanding, the doors are beautifully crafted, and their personal approach made the experience enjoyable and stress-free. Highly recommended!

After giving salesman the measurements and taking a lenghty video call so he could see exactly what the job was he asked for half the deposit which we did.
They sent the installer out for a site visit and he told us it would not work!!
We agreed to pay the £350 for the site visit which really wasn't our fault and we are still waiting for over £1500 refund been 2 weeks now and everyone seems to be on annual leave.

Some challenges during installation but these were addressed and now happy with the final product.

Wow, I cannot recommend more. If youre looking for classic black framed doors, with the ability to customise the size, shape and layout of the doors, this is the company to go with. The finish of our doors is beyond our expectations, everyone has commented that they look like theyve always been there. Not even a scratch on the paintwork to the left and right of where they have been fitted. To say we are impressed is a huge understatement. 10/10 and brilliant team!

Doors arrived with the wrong handles, missing handle plates, misaligned window bars and wrong colour window bar.
Installation of doors was delayed by numerous excuses and has taken over 4 weeks as the workers are regularly told to go to other jobs. I generally didn’t get the same worker twice. All payments had to be paid up front though!
Items have since been fixed but have since had no communication from the company.
