Misleading subscription trap and unusable service

This company does not operate transparently.

I paid $2 AUD for a one-time PDF to Word conversion. The file I received was completely unreadable and unusable, meaning the service failed at the most basic level.

After this, without clear disclosure, invoice, confirmation email, or warning, Best PDF charged my card $60 AUD for a monthly subscription that I never knowingly agreed to. Because I was never properly notified, I missed the first charge — and the company then charged me again for a second month.

This appears to be a deliberate bait-and-switch model: attract users with a cheap one-time offer, provide poor results, then quietly enroll them into an expensive recurring subscription.

I consider this misleading and unethical business behavior. I strongly advise others to avoid this service and carefully monitor their payment methods if they use it.

Horrible!!! They triple billed me and I had to block them on PayPal from continuing to bill me. I only used them once to convert one jpeg to a pdf file.

Man zahlt für eine einmalig benötigte PDF-Datei 0,95 Euro und denkt, die Sache hat sich damit erledigt, denn schließlich hat man ja dafür gezahlt. Versteckt in der Bestätigungsmail steht dann, dass die ersten 7 Tage kostenlos sind und es danach 39.95 Euro kostet. Abgebucht wird dann nicht nach 7 Tagen, sondern bereits am 7. Tag; bei mir war das der 1. Weihnachtsfeiertag. Gekündigt habe ich sofort nach der Paypalmail noch am 7. Tag, aber ich habe dennoch keine Chance, mein Geld zurückzuerhalten. Bei Paypal habe ich in dieser Sache zum 1. Mal einen Fall eröffnet, die wollen mir mein Geld aber nicht wiedergeben, weil ich über die Zahlpflicht nach 7 Tagen informiert worden sei. Dass am 7. Tag abgebucht wurde und die Art der Information einen Verstoß gegen deutsches AGB-Recht darstellt, wird von Paypal schön ignoriert. Sowas unseriöses habe ich selten erlebt. Und was ich vom Paypal-Käuferschutz zu halten habe, weiß ich nun auch.

- Jan 8, 20:55: ATTEMPTED UNAUTHORIZED CHARGE
- My bank blocked card
- Jan 9: Now claims "technical limitations" and refuses refund

NEVER received any payment receipts for any transaction (EU law violation).

I have filed formal complaints with:

✓ 10+ Cyprus/EU regulatory authorities
✓ Visa/Mastercard merchant compliance
✓ Bank chargeback in progress

They use AI bots that ignore direct questions and send circular responses. Systematic deceptive practices.

As most others, I thought it was a one-off small charge for a simple translation (which was awful quality). I got a reminder before renewal so I cancelled, or so I thought, two days before renewal was due. It clearly wasn't successful as they charged me two days later. I immediately canceled again and conveniently it worked this time, after getting my money. But then they charged me another $0.99 for some reason. They agreed to refund that as an act of 'good faith' lol. Their emails were either just AI responses that rolled out the same responses every reply, or the customer service team were just laughing all they way to the bank, with their patronising relies of 'we understand your frustration', and 'have a wonderful day'.
Complete scam and a complete waste of money. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

The bestpdf.com are scammers. They charge you 99c one time for the pdf and put you in monthly subscription of $39.95. I requested for the refund as soon as I have been charged, but they say that the payment has gone through already and they couldn’t able to refund it back.

Be very careful and don't make any payments on this website. You'll automatically sign up for an expensive subscription, and they refuse any refund. It's a blatant scam.

Übersetzung von PDF-Dokument funktioniert nicht, Geld weg. Man bekommt x Mails, alle lösen das Problem nicht. Wenn man darauf antwortet, ist Schluss. Keiner reagiert mehr darauf. Forderung auf Rückerstattung wird ignoriert.

Giving one star cos I can’t give zero. Charged me for a one off pdf edit then took a subscription charge off me. Won’t give a refund just fobbed me off & messed me around for a month. An absolutely disgusting company who are basically committing legal robbery. At least highway men had the decency to wear masks.

They are a fraud! Useless and definitely not the best! They have a pending £39.95 withdrawal in my account right now which I did not approve! I have written an email to them to STOP taking my money. Avoid them at all costs

As with all the other reviews, a total scam which cost me £200 before I noticed what was going on! (You live and learn). Basically, DO NOT USE! I paid for a 'one off PDF' for £1.90. To do this you set up a subscription but you must cancel this within 24 hours as they charge you £39.95 every month. No emails to your address to say payments will be taken. They quietly rake in the cash hoping you don't notice. Their customer service responds almost immediately and refers you to their T and Cs which clearly states ' NO REFUNDS'.

Scam. Tried the $1.47 for a single document and was scammed into $59AU subscription fee a week later.

Company traces back to a dodgy kebab shop in Cyprus.

Scam be aware they took nearly $200 worth of subscriptions from me, thankfully I picked it up and changed my visa card so they can't take any more. American scum.

Don’t use this company. I paid $0.95 to convert an uploaded pdf to a word doc. All I got was a non edited pdf which is what I uploaded in the first place. Contacted them for a refund and was told they have a no refund policy even when I didn’t get what I paid for. A small amount of money but paid for nothing. Disgusted.

A complete scam, took two months so called subscription from me and froze my so-called account login, so I can not contact them to ask for a refund.
My bank barred the credit card I used and directed me to the Section 75 dispute process.
So to recap, I cannot contact the company, and it is unlikely my credit card provider will reimburse me, so I am out of pocket by £39.95 times two, total £79.90. Avoid at all costs.

I have had the miss fortune of dealing with and organisation called "TehBestPDF". I wanted to make a once off conversion of a one document. Their service looked like it would do this so I gave it a go. For this I paid via my credit car what I believed to be a once off fee of £0.95. To my surprise a few days later I found a further charge, from "TehBestPDF", of £39.95 on my credit card. On querying this, I was informed that by using their service, although it was not clear to me at the time, one is actually signing up to an ongoing subscription service.

When I contacted "TehBestPDF" they assured me that the subscription was cancelled. I fully expected them to refund the £39.95, but they have refused to do this on the grounds that I did not cancel within the trial period.
