Worst service in car reservations. There were two people at the desk. The first one was very rude and felt like he didn’t want to be there so he didn’t bother to be helpful with the answers.

The other guy was very kind but to be honest the company is a mess.

It has been two months since our reservation and they have not returned the deposit we made for the reservation with our credit card and the customer service is also rude and not helpful at all.

Most of the time they do not pick up the phone and when they do, they do not give you any answer or help to your situation.

We still haven’t received the deposit

Rented a very nice mini-SUV from Autovia in top condition at a very competitive price, with excellent attention from the friendly staff in Venice airport, no hassle and quick pick-up process. It'll be my go to company for car rental next time!

We were scammed on other company and thought that If we take car on next to good brand stores on Autovia we won't Be scammed. The MG zs paid 950e per week on full insurance. After we read The invoice on hotel fully(not tired/stressed anymore), there was things on that we didn't spoke at alla. For example easy return 50e and car upgrade 2. We asked on The desk cheapist car and they Said this MG was only one on there(doubt IT was) so there couldnt Be Anu uppgrades, and we didn't book Anu car before! And how can walk-in fee Be about 350e!! We leave The car tomorrow. Lets see what happens. Nobody answers phone in any numbers! 1 star from car.

The snow socks supplied with the hire car were too small for the tyres.
Whilst travelling from the car rental office to my destination with my family I needed to fit the snow socks due to some snow on the road. The snow socks were too small.
Therefore I could no longer drive the vehicle or reach our destination.
I rang Autovia and they said that if I drive my car back to the rental office they would change the snow socks. I explained that I could not drive the car to the rental office because I needed to fit snow socks to drive the car. Autovia then said there is nothing more they could do and I was therefore left stranded on the road with my family.
We paid for additional accommodation which we found that was luckily walking distance from where the car was stuck as we couldn't reach our destination.
The next day the snow had not melted so we had to pay 300 euros for a taxi to our destination.
We were unable to use the car for 4 days as we had to wait for the snow to melt, it was only a small amount of snow that if we had snow socks that fitted the car tyres we could have driven safely with them.
I used the car for the remaining 2 days of the holiday and when I returned the hire car there was nobody from Autovia there for me to discuss the issues I had experienced due to the incorrect sized snow socks, I had to leave the keys at an empty car rental desk.
I further contacted Autovia about the snow sock issue after my trip had finished explaining the safety issue, additional costs I had to pay as a consequence of this, the fact that I couldn't use the car for 4 days and how it had impacted the enjoyment of my holiday.
This contact with Autovia also included requested reimbursement for some of the costs incurred due to the incorrect sized snow socks.
Autovia accepted no liability and said they would not provide any reimbursement.
I explained that it was a legal requirement for the car hire company to supply safety equipment such as snow socks that were the correct size for the car tyres.
Autovia stopped communicating with me via email.
Please do not use this company to hire a car because, in addition to not providing the correct safety equipment, the contact and help provided to me as a paying customer was very poor and there was no acceptance from Autovia that they did not comply with their contractural requirements for car rental hire.
Update 1st June 2026 - Autovia responded on 30th May to this Trustpilot review admitting the correct safety equipment was not supplied with the car and the acknowledged the issues and financial costs I incurred as a result of this including that I was not able to use the car for 4 days of the rental period. However I have not received any reimbursement for these financial costs which I detailed via their complaints email address and I haven't received a response to this email about reimbursement etc.

Wij hebben een auto gehuurd bij autovia, de auto bleek na een tijd rijden een koelvloeistof lek te hebben. Gebeld en we moesten zelf maar even de koelvloeistof bijvullen of een garage opzoeken en dan het bonnetje bewaren. Bijvullen was twee keer nodig. Alles netjes bewaard en aan de balie afgegeven, later nog de kopie via de mail ingediend, maar omdat de bonnen van het tankstation niet op naam van auto via stonden helaas geen restitutie. Bij inleveren bleek dat de auto al bekend was met het probleem. Een defecte auto meegekregen en zelf mogen opdraaien voor de kosten. Onbeleefde en slechte service van autovia helaas. Terwijl het met een excuus en twee keer €10 koelvloeistof vergoeden prima opgelost zou zijn.

I am very satisfied with the service they provided. The car was in very good condition, with no issues at all. The pick-up was quick, and the return was also quick and easy. Overall, it was an excellent service. I would definitely recommend them and will use them again if needed.

Great customer service. Everything was explained clearly and the car was very modern and well maintained. Some rental companies will pressure you to purchase upgrades but I never felt any pressure during my pickup. I got the car I wanted at the price I wanted and enjoyed my rental.

On January 17, 2026, due to the extremely long passport control queue at the airport, they refused to give us the car we had paid for and rented a week in advance because we had exceeded one hour. The employee at the office was very rude. They said Autovia doesn't have a call center and could only be reached by email, but they only responded negatively to our email after six days. My wife, two children, and I were stranded at the airport, unable to find a car from other companies. The frantic search for a bus and running around the airport with our luggage made for a terrible day. Not only did they refuse to give us the car, but they also refused to refund the money; we feel like we were scammed.
