Late night arrival at Ancona, but your colleague was cheerful and efficient

I had booked a car, paid in full and taken full insurance cover in advance. When I tried to pick up the car, I showed the voucher, my driving license and the Amex card I had paid with but was told my credit card could not be used for the deposit of 250 euro as it was not accepted by the system.
The person at the desk told me I had to cancel the booking and lose the money I had already paid or transfer it to my partners name and pay an administration fee of 210 euro (which they could take from my Amex…very dodgy). Since we had no choice in the matter, and after being shouted at by your staff member for trying to understand why there was a problem when I had the requested documents, I reluctantly paid the 210 euro to be told I could then apply for a refund.
A month on, I have not been able to reach them and get this refund.
There was absolutely no reason why the deposit could not be charged to my card. There were adequate funds available and it was the card I had used to pay for the booking, in my name.
I’ve since heard similar tales of this company and would advise against them in any instance.

I drove with a (almost new) Toyota C-HR for three weeks in Umbria and Marche hills. Excellent performance. Great car. Fast pickup and return at Ancona airport. Good price between the other car rental firms.

After reading the negative reviews of autovia we were slightly sceptical, however to our surprise everything went nice and smooth. We got a significant car upgrade on both rentals.
Elena from Ancona airport made the difference, she was very knowledgeable and helpful with the process. The cars had minor scratches which were detailed in the rental contract and there were no issues on return. Autovia has very competitive prices and if next time in Ancona will use them again.

My experience was mostly wonderful. The first staff member I talked to when picking up the car was very kind and professional. The car was very clean and ready to go immediately. It was a nice vehicle with many features.
The only problems I had were:
When I tried to refuel the car the gas pump would shut off after just a few seconds. I tried THREE different gas stations, thinking that maybe it was the pump that was the problem. But no, it happened at all of them and took over 15 minutes to fill up the tank.
When I returned the vehicle, I explained the problem and the staff member (different than the first,) said in a bit of a rude tone, "Not possible, no one else has complained about this, it must be the pump that was broken."
After dropping off the car, the company held my deposit for 16 days, which is the longest of any company I have ever used.
So other than the dismissive second staff person, the gas issue, and the deposit, it was a very good experience.

The staff at the airport were very helpful and friendly. The process was quicker than I expected too.

Sono molto soddisfatto di Autovia ( aeroporto di Ancona). Questa è la seconda volta che ho noleggiato un'auto da questa azienda. Come la prima volta, anche questa volta mi hanno dato una macchina migliore di quanto mi aspettassi. La signora con cui ho comunicato è stata molto gentile e ha compilato la documentazione e mi ha consegnato l'auto in pochi minuti. Dopo tre giorni, ho restituito l'auto e questa rispettata signora ha compilato il documento che l'auto è a posto. Per me è stata un'esperienza piacevole.

Na de boeking duurde de bevestiging meer dan een week. We kregen een ‘oude’ wagen toegewezen, meer dan 160000km op de teller, en een serieuze slijtage onder de pedalen. Al bij het vertrek was er de melding van ‘onderhoud nodig’. Vanaf de tweede dag liep de motor warm en kregen de melding om koelvloeistof toe te voegen. Dit probleem bleef zich voordoen, we hebben contact opgenomen met de verhuurder en konden de wagen wisselen in hun kantoor in riccione. Toen we daar aankwamen had de medewerker net afgesloten voor zijn lunchpauze en konden we 2u wachten. Ook al was hij op de hoogte dat we onderweg waren, We hebben door deze problemen veel tijd verloren en niet kunnen doen wat we van plan waren. Wij huren nooit meer bij deze verhuurder.

La compagnia non ha rispettato la prenotazione fatta perché avevamo prenotato una Tiguan e ci hanno dato una Citroen C4 ,macchina di categoria inferiore allo stesso prezzo.
Non sono stati in grado di venirci incontro in nessun modo perché avevano solo quella macchina disponibile, sono stati poco professionali.
