Rented a car for 5 days, got a slightly larger car than expected which was great. Everything was exceptionally easy from booking online to returning the car at the end. Really efficient and wouldn't hesitate to use again or recommend to friends and family.

Good online service and reasonable price for rental car. We paid for the additional insurance cover to take our excess to $0.00 through Auto Europe.
However, when we went to pick up car at Avis in Nice, France we were told we had an insurance excess of 1300.00euro and that it would cost a further 105.00euro to remove this excess.
We paid this extra fee as it was difficult to try to explain that we had already paid for this cover via AutoEurope (in French) & Avis were insistent that we needed to pay it through them. Also the voucher that we had from AutoEurope did not clearly state that we had paid for this extra coverage already. So it became a stressful and confusing situation and ultimately cost us a lot of additional money.

on recent trip we had two Autoeurope hires. will everything autoeurope end went well, we did have some issues around some "extra" changers that where added on by the vehicle provider (nothing to do with Autoeurope) and we did have a slight accident which meant some extra charges. Autoeurope provided an excellent follow up service and was instrumental in getting the extra unexpected charges resolved in my favour and very helpful in get clarity on the somewhat confused final invoice related to accident cost

Will definitely use again and no hesitation on recommending

We had a trouble free experience booking the car through Auto Europe NZ... We had a car from an other reputable company ie: Avis. We are very happy.

For this best part we had a good experience however we thought pick up was the time we actually picked the car up not when we commenced the paperwork. We also had trouble finding the car return depot as this was not clear. A map would have helped. Clearer instructions would have helped as we had to ask at a local garage and we weren't the only ones as people in front of us held us up cause they didn't know what they were doing either. All sorted in the end.

Car was not cleaned very well when presented to us apart fro that every thing else was good.

Helpful and friendly service and prompt information given re extra charges.

It was great to have our car rental bookings sorted before we left home. So far all our cars have been ready and correct sized when we need them. The agencies themselves have not always been very efficient but the is not really Auto Europe's fault.

Auto Europe makes it really easy to rent a vehicle. They give you a choice of rental car companies and vehicles tl choose from. Pickjng up the car at Avignon TGV station was easy as was delivering it back. We are using Auto Europe twice more this year.

Everything was fine with the booking, however I needed to contact Auto Europe, NZ office was shut and the local office number did not work so was left fairly high & dry - the contact numbers need to be updated so that they are correct

Best deal ever. Normally when travelling to Europe we rent directly off Europcar. By booking through these guys, same car, same supplier, massive savings. Approximately 50% less than going direct! How does it work? Don't know, but brilliant service

At the end June in France, we rented a Toyota Auris Hybrid hatch from Europcar at Bordeaux Saint Jean station ,and dropped after 12 days at Avignon TGV station.
The process was quite good except the insistence of the agent at pick up that we needed to take out extra insurance to cover the excess, when this had already been arranged with Auto Europe. Auto Europe need to provide additional written confirmation of excess insurance to provide proof of cover. This added a half hour to our pick-up process and delayed other waiting customers.
We paid extra for one way hire and environmental charge for having an automatic car, totalling about 128Euros. Having an automatic car and one way rental doubled the cost of rental compared with having a smaller hatchback (which was all we needed). However driving on the opposite side of the road from what we are used to and with the narrow country roads; the automatic was less stressful than a manual would have been.
The hybrid was an unexpected bonus as it was very economical on fuel (4.4l per 100km).
Picking up and returning the car at TGV rail stations was very convenient and avoided driving in busy city centres.
The Auto Europe booking process was good but not very helpful in clarifying the one way hire and environmental charges.

I was late and so did not have time to fill up the tank before returning the car in Nuremberg. This is a very costly experience.

Auto Europe were good to deal with and seemed to get us a much better deal than I could find on other websites. I needed to follow them up to get our voucher sent through, but they sent it quickly in response.

We purchased insurance with the booking only to be informed by Avis that it was only for the 'excess', so we also needed to procure additional insurance from Avis to be fully protected, This negated the savings we thought we were getting with booking via Auto Euro.
It turned out that the Avis insurance was definitely needed as a flat tyre and call out charge to fix was $300 Euro, so definitely need the additional insurance, but I don't think the Auto Euro insurance added anything of value.

After booking the car in NZ, it was quite difficult to confirm we had made the booking, eventually through a call centre in Australia. We picked the car up from Civitavecchia, I suppose I expected the car to be there waiting, but it had to come from Rome that morning. It was a bit late. We arranged a GPS unit a week earlier, but at pick it was not ready, despite it being the same staff member. At drop off in Rome, I thought we might get some help to find a taxi to our hotel. The guy begrudgingly told us there was a taxi rank across the road. Well there were no taxis there, they were about 600 meters up the road.
On the positive side the car was almost new and although different from what we had ordered, easily accommodated 4 people and our mountain of luggage.
Watch out for added extras like extra driver and GPS, once they add 22% VAT, these are expensive.

The booking process online was quick and easy. We collected and returned the vehicle at Europcar without any hassles. Our original booking was for a Volkswagen golf or similar, so it was a pleasant surprise when we arrived to find we had been given a new Mercedes hatchback. Happy to recommend this service.

The experience itself was smooth although we waited for more than one hour to get the car in AVIS NICE downtown branch. They were just too busy and needed more staff. When we returned the car, we did everything as instructed, the tank was full, no damage to the car, car was reasonable clean... we read from TRIPADVISOR that you better be careful with unexpected charge at the end so we asked the staff to check everything before we left and he said it was all good. However 3 days after that we found that our credit card got charged $30 euro. That was no communication at all till now (2 weeks), we were just too busy to ask for that.It was not a lot of money but IT IS ILLEGAL TO CHARGE A CREDIT CARD WITHOUT informing the card holder in front. Be careful!

We booked our car rental for France 2 months in advance and got a fantastic rate, which I could not find if I booked with Avis directly, so that is awesome. Also, my train in France was nearly an hour late which meant I was arriving at Avis to pick up rental car after the Avis office was due to close. Auto Europe were very helpful phoning around between me and Avis to make sure that someone at Avis could stay back and meet me when I arrived outside of normal business hours. Very impressed.
