This doorbell used to work with Google, but no longer! There is no customer support unless you pay for a subscription. Just a chatbot that doesn't understand 'How can I connect to Google home?' The answer offered is 'would you like to connect to Amazon Alexa?'

Update... automated reply sent below with the same old details of how to set this up... still doesn't work, and no useful customer support communication. As I have stated in this review: this USED to work. I did already set it up, but it stopped working and will no longer connect with Google home. I've cleared data, cache, deleted the device, reinstalled the app, reinstalled the device, and guess what. It STILL doesn't work!

Terrible customer service
Terrible customer service. My return arrived at the Arlo warehouse nearly 2 weeks ago but I have had zero correspondence from Arlo and no refund even after I’ve contacted them twice to try to get an update. Puts me off buying anything from them again.

Cameras; app; support all terrible
The cameras are poor. I was burgled and turned out arlo hasn’t been recording anything for over a month. Tried to contact support but only AI agent available which couldn’t understand even the most simple communication. Every part of this product - the hardware; the app; the performance; the support; is beyond poor. Can’t believe i spent good money on it. DO NOT BUY.

I’m very disappointed with the new app…
I’m very disappointed with the new app update, especially now that I’ve purchased a base station.
I’ve tried contacting Arlo UK several times, but no one answers the phone.
Could you please review the app and improve it? Accessing locally stored videos has become very confusing, and the whole local storage section is now a mess. It would be great if you could make it much easier to view and manage local recordings.

Customer service is excellent
Customer service is excellent. The products are excellent, however whilst they say you dont need to pay a subscription for each device because you can monitor it yourself they take away crucial notifications if you dont have a subscription. I dont pay a subscription and I cannot get a notification that says your alarm or Siren is sounding. You seem to get one notification sound so when it sounds it could be something or nothing. The notification doesn't say your front camera has detected movement, it just sends a short tone. My friends who pay subscriptions get more advanced notifications but they have one camera whereas I have 6 so I cant afford £35 aprox every month. I was led to believe that self monitoring works. It does in a fashion but since I got mine 7 yrs ago they have whittled away the service I get as a non subscription customer. Subscriptions are where the money is nowadays!!

Very difficult set up with new router
I had to revise the wireless set up for doorbell and chime when the router was replaced. What a terrible experience! Despite following the instructions on the app it took about a dozen attempts to set up the doorbell and then a similar number of attempts to set up the chime. It’s the 21st century, this should not be so difficult. The chime has not appeared on the app despite seeming to work. Confusing amd frustrating. I wouldn’t buy this system again.

There are several reasons why your Arlo Video Doorbell and Chime may initially have had difficulty connecting to your Wi-Fi. These could include insufficient upload speed or the devices being too far from your main router during setup.
If your Arlo Chime was successfully found by the app during setup and rings when someone presses your Video Doorbell, it should appear under the Devices tab in the Arlo Secure app.

Zero support when products stopped working
I bought a lot of gear from them, two external cameras, a floodlight camera with solar charger, an internal camera and a doorbell. I contacted support through the website and tried calling when the floodlight stopped charging. No one has ever responded. Frustrated by the lack of response I bought a fixed charger and new battery. That didn’t work. So I now have a load of redundant gear and incurred more expense! Since then the doorbell has stopped holding charge for more than a few days even if charged to a 100%. The other cameras that still work need charging every week now when they used to hold the charge for well over a month. I’m assuming it is only a matter of time before they break as well which will leave me with only the internal camera. Terrible products and zero support. I would steer clear of this company.

Terrible service
Customer service are always very polite but twice I have renewed my plan and twice they have stopped the feed facility from working. The first time I rang up and they reinstated it while I was at home, but now I am in hospital for a few weeks and have no access to my doorbell feed which I am paying for. I spoke to a customer service agent and he said I have to be at home for them to reinstate the feed. I will not have access to the feed for a few weeks which is very inconvenient. The customer service agent knew exactly what the problem was but could not help me unless I was at home. This is not good enough - to lose my feed twice in a month is highly inconvenient. I pay for this service yet I am not getting it. Not good enough Arlo.
It is now a week later and despite giving the information you asked for, Arlo still have not resolved my issue. I sent another email but have heard nothing more from Arlo. I just want my feed restored, but nothing more has been done since I wrote the review which is very disappointing. I will always review a bad review if an issue is resolved, but in this case, nothing has changed so I stand by my 1-star review.

It would appear that my 30 day free camera subscription has expired.I’ve received no notification of this and trying to subscribe is impossible it just goes round in circles defaulting to Verisure
I think I put the cameras in the dustbin and cancel my Verisure subscription and just buy a decent alarm system with cameras
Honestly their website is awful!!

I like the quality of the wireless…
I like the quality of the wireless camera but I miss the old version I have that comes with a magnetic mount rather than this version that I have to fix to the wall with screws. Still a great product.

The App gives me a great amount of…
The App gives me a great amount of detail, it’s intuitive for the most part. But, there are two areas that I don’t completely understand.
There can be frustrating delays on replaying the feed when a notification is received or live streaming content. And there has been occasions where the app doesn’t respond and it needs a restart to actively use it.
However, this does not affect the actual Camera Recording process.
I think the subscription is reasonable for the service provided. The Doorbell works well. Still need to mount two of the indoor cameras. But, overall it appears to be a good system.
Customer service is very responsive via email.
** Following a response from my review, I now have the answers to my slight issue, which will likely be resolved by a stronger WiFi connection. Thank you Arlo Support for your response and suggestions!

Arlo just deleted my cameras & then sent an email saying oops sorry and s suggestion to go through the process of re installing them which was a pain and changed the set up. Not good at all

The issue was limited to a specific group of identified devices. We can confirm that there was no unauthorized access to your account and no security risk to your Arlo system. If you have already reinstalled your device and added it back to your account, no further action is required.
