SCAM ALERT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This "company" doesn't let you cancel the account, and won't reply to your emails.

Spam and threats to file a complaint if we do not renew our subscription. We took out a one-year subscription to test ipstack and decided to temporarily suspend our subscription because the site is still into development. But Apilayer/Ipstack kept trying to take payment from our card (which we have to keep frozen) despite us asking them to suspend our subscription. They keep trying to charge our bank card for a new subscription. Now they are threatening to sue us if we don't resubscribe to ipstack 🤨. We took out a one-year subscription to test the IPstack platform which sends a lot of errors and instead of resolving the problems, prefers to threaten customers with resubscription. We have decided to no longer use IPstack or any api layer products and we recommend that you do not use any of their products.

Fraud of a service. Refuses to terminate my account. Billed for over a year without my permission. Requested cancellation over 1 and a half years ago now.
Absolute scam, BEWARE.

Ive asked for termination of my account about 5 times so far in the last week. They are giving me the runaround. Looks like I will have to freeze my card and/or cite them for fraud. At this point they are knowingly taking my money (ie stealing). AVOID.

Impossible to cancel subscription after many attempts through all available support channels.

Avoid at all cost if you anticipate wanting to cancel a subscription.

Like other comments say, impossible to cancel the subscription, they harass you everyday to pay for a terminated service. I had the foresight of using a digital debit card so I could just block it.

I have used apilayer for several years, but to cancel the subscription is a real challenge. I am harassed daily by 2 to 3 emails asking me to pay for a service that has been terminated. Despite my communications, they continue to write to me daily. Very disappointed with this service

Sorry, but incorrect data renders the service unusable.

DO NOT USE. They don't ever respond to support requests. Once you add your card, it can never be deleted and you will forever be charged by them with no response.

For three years I have been using the Api Currency Layer through a Telegram Bot, both the C# version of the Bot and the Java version work perfectly, the ApiLayer HAS always worked for me and allowed the people who use my Bot to be informed in a simple and clear way of the values of the respective currencies against the dollar. I have tried to use others but they are not so frequently updated and sometimes the update periods are very long, ApiLayer gives me the possibility to do free trials and then move forward in the acquisition of payment models when the development is worth it.

We used the fixer API (currency conversion API) from api layer and good bad performance/stability (6% of HTTP 5XX errors) and latencies that exceed 110s sometimes for one currency for one day...

We contacted the support for this issue. After one month they told us that they are continuing working on it but they made improvements (after verification, there were no evolution in our data).

After some times they told us to stop using apiLayer but use fixer directly (it's their API). We understand that the API will not work and we must take another subscription to fixer.
We took the same subscription but to the fixer API directly.

After the first tests with the exactly same usage we got errors
"Access Restricted - Your current Subscription Plan does not support this API Function."
After investigation the route that we used was available in the subscription at 14$ for ApiLayer but you need the 44$ subscription for the same feature to do it with Fixer API.

So I contacted the support to tell them that they told me to switch API and i just want the same feature that previously and they just answered "you need to upgrade your plan"...

We don't want to pay 3 times more without any guarantee of the quality of the service.

We got no solutions so we decided to switch to another API

They took money from my bank card without permission, this company is a complete scammer.

Do not go near this company. The prices on the XLON exchange stopped updating a month ago and the FTSE index has not updated since April. Nobody checks or tries to fix despite submitting multiple reports to them. It is therefore useless to me, but you cannot cancel your subscription yourself. You need to contact support and nobody ever replies or will action a request. I am trapped in a membership with them as I cannot cancel or remove my payment details. I have been left needing to freeze my card. Strongly suggest you look elsewhere for a reliable service.

I tried the free trial, and it returned some data. However, they don't give you enough in the free trial to see that the data is riddled with missing information... to do that, you have to sign up.
Once you sign up, there is no automated way to cancel. You have to send an email, of which I sent many and got no response. They continued to charge my card.
I had to open a dispute with the credit card company to get the charges to stop. Even today if I go into the portal, they still show that I am subscribed and have my credit card details, that I have told them to remove.
Today I check my email and see they have sent me an automated email asking me to review their api... well, here's your review.

I paid for a year here and I have the paid invoice for the same and suddenly after two month my plan is downgraded to free plan and when I am sending mail to customer care, I am not getting any reply.

Spectacularly bad customer support. Spotty data. Don’t bother.

Marketstack is good but has important inconsistencies in data.

With inconsistencies I refer specifically to the fact that for example on the exchange list you get Japan Stock Exchange, but when you search for historical data of a specifical stock in Japan you get no historical data.
Also there are companies in other exchanges whos stock are listed, but then you get no dividend data to it.
All in all this limits pretty much the usuability of the APi as one never knows, whtere there really are no data, or there are no data because there are no (dividends or splits), which kind of reduces the trustworthyness of any data sourced.

This is what I mean with inconsistencies and it seems pretty much a sourcing problem to me: Marketstack is either sourcing from different other apis where data are not matched completely leading to incosistent data, or some sources do not deliver all data (Japan Stock Market as a good example)

I tried a free trial of their market data api. I found a different soluations shortly after exploring their offerings. There wasn't a method to cancel on their website, and it said I had to email their support. I emailed their support and said I would like to cancel. They reply back with some offer, and I said I still wanted to cancel. I got charged after the free trial was over. So I emailed again, I would like to cancel, then no reply from them. So I just waited for them to reply, time past and I got busy with work and other things. I got charged again for another month, I emailed them again saying what is going on I wanted to cancel, got some generic reply and I clearly stated I wanted to cancel. I got ghosted pretty much. Then I got chraged a 3rd time and I emailed them again and this representative named Frank finally says sorry for the trouble we have canceled your subscription and he said sorry we do not offer refunds. I was like this is inexcusable, this company pretty much stole from me for 3 months after I have tried to cancel countless time, and they are not offering any refunds. I didn't even use their API for these 3 months because I wanted to cancel immediately after look at it with the free trial. This company is horrible and I would not recommend them to anybody.
