Allrecipes Arvostelua 

I saw a ginger jam recipe on this site that I wanted to use for canning. Apparently the person created it, “from an orange marmalade recipe they liked and it turned out great”. So I sent it off to be checked. Turns out the recipe is an exact copy of Deliah Smith’s, from the Great British Table, right down to the amount of jars to prep. Stealing recipes as your own is poor form. I won’t be using this site for recipes again.

Somehow—I have no idea how—allrecipes has started spamming the special email address I have that automatically turns an email into a new note in the Evernote app. Every day I get several new Evernotes that I never asked for!
I want my account DELETED (not "deactivated"). This is abusive.

I downloaded 1 recipe. They immediately bombarded me with 4 emails a day. I tried unsubscribing 6 times, then reported them as phishing. I still get the emails, but they go to my spam folder. They don't deserve 1 star. This company is trash.

I’ve been trying to have my account deleted since June of 2025, after a few years of use their website has gone downhill.

To (supposedly) have your account deleted, you must fill out a form on their third party website — I have since done it twice. After continuing to get spam from them I decided to see if my account was still active, and surprisingly it was. So I decided to reach out to customer service for assistance, which has so far been a bust. The first time Ava (who seems to be the only person in the department since she’s the only person I’ve ever had the “pleasure” of speaking with) sent me a link to the same form I had already filled out, so I filled it out again hoping that maybe I had just messed something up. After another month or so I checked again, and my account was still active. Reaching out a second time I explained the situation in more detail, as well as sending my reference number so they could easily find what they’d need (mind you I used their generic contact information). Ava (here she is again) assured me that the process was underway and that she’d reach out as soon as it was completed. After several months I reached out again after checking that my account was still active, and Ava (no really the same freaking individual) sent me the form again, so I sent back my TWO separate confirmation numbers and asked to speak with a manager. That was early December and it’s now January of 2026, and she hasn’t gotten back to me. So whatever you do, don’t make an account with any site associated with the following:

Allrecipes, BHG, Brides, Byrdie, Daily Paws, EatingWell, Entertainment Weekly, Food & Wine, Health, Investopedia, Lifewire, Liquor, Martha Stewart, Parents, People, Real Simple, Serious Eats, Simply Recipes, Southern Living, The Spruce, The Spruce Eats, The Spruce Pets, Thoughtco, Travel + Leisure, Verywell Fit, Verywell Health and Verywell Mind

Because of this, I’m now creating a spectacle on Allrecipes — so if you’re reading this and bump into a profile describing the above, please report it so they’ll hopefully remove it.

This would be a 0 if it were a rating option. I looked at AllReceipes for 1 specific receipe that had popped up on a search. I did not subscribe but have been bombarded with emails weekly or more often for 2 months. I have unsubscribed more times that I can count blocked them, reported as spam, and reported as phishing. Yet the emails keep coming. I am looking into reporting them to the Federal Trade Commission. Advice never click on a ALLReceipes for any reason,

Proportions of tapioca for tapioca pudding were wrong ! Needs at least double (1.5 cups). NOT GOOD !

Randomly signed me up for their "newsletter" which is entirely spam. I have made multiple attempts to unsubscribe but I magically am re-added to their mailing list every time. Entirely useless website with terrible business practices with their newsletter, probably to artificially increase their numbers.

I have LOVED this app for years. I was happy to accept ads in proportion to the services. I appreciate that someone has to pay someone for something!! Moving past the last few months of total chaos, today, May 30, 2025. I tried to log in to my account to reconnect with my Collection. I find myself going around in circles. A link to move me forward takes me back to where I was!! Today, I wave goodbye to all the recipes I have saved and loved, and the New management. I appreciate that writing this note is therapy for me. The chances of management reading this is slim to none. Whatever $$ was paid for this program has been squandered by both new buyer and the sellers' ROI.. Short-term thinking. They will rue the day!!!

Since the site has been bought or bundled or whatever, it is a frustrating, useless maze. Too bad. At one time it was great.

At first I did not mind the advertising, but I ended my subscription and they still spammed me with emails and new recipes that I did not want.

Non stop spam mail with no way to unsubscribe! It has a link to,but it does not work! Allrecipes sucks! Do not use them.

Two weeks ago I submitted 1 jewish recipe, kügel, to test the waters. It never went online or was aporoved. If I link to it, "AllRecipes member" wrote it. Their customer service "Addison" said I forgot to attach my name. NOT true.

The carrot muffin recipe was terrible it asked for 2 tea spoons of baking soda when it should have been a 1/4 tea spoon my muffins ended up being salty

I am finally exporting all my stored recipes from Allrecipes after all these years. They no longer allow access from any Apple product which is ridiculous. The features are not easy to use anymore; you can't even delete your own recipe. Don't invest your time and effort in this app.

Ever since they deleted the app it’s a terrible experience. You can’t search for your saved recipes, which I emailed them about. They said they’re working on it, that was in April 2023. Now my recipes won’t load when I press the ‘load more’ button. I guess they did this to get people to subscribe to their magazine.

This website is terrible. I faithfully use the app for years, saving and tweaking my recipes until one day the app no longer worked. I read they got rid of the app in order to focus more on their website. Fine. Now I go to their website and log into my account, and I am unable to access any of my favorites. It just keeps taking me back to the home screen. So unfortunate that such an amazing and helpful tool has been turned to crap.

Too many adds!! I want a recipe I don’t want to look through a ton of add to get the recipe!! I miss the app should never have gotten rid of it

I was a big fan of AllRecipes. I used their app to find new recipes and also entered my own personal recipes FOR YEARS. Obviously, I had amassed quite a collection. Then, about a month ago, I suddenly could not log into the app. I searched online to try to identify the issue. I learned that AllRecipes had decided to abandon the app. That's it. Gone. BUT they assured users that the website could still be used. Yeah....for how long? I am NOT TRUSTING this site with my recipes any longer. Today, I spent hours saving every recipe as a PDF so I won't lose them when/if AllRecipes "decides" to stop supporting the website next. I will never use their "service" again.

What the hell happened? One day I went to find my saved recipes on the Allrecipes app and found it utterly unusable. Who decided to drive this previously wonderful app off the cliff? What a bunch of boneheads. They had a great thing going and drove it into the ground. I’m back to printing off favorite recipes and putting them in a ring binder. All my favorites are now lost. WTH?!?!
