Don't even bother yourself with this website. I booked with so many mentors and they all even showed up to the meeting, wait of my time.

As a new mentor on ADPlist, I had high hopes but encountered several significant issues that I feel other mentors should be aware of.

The most troubling issue is the lack of transparency around AI recording and call summaries. The platform implemented this feature without proper warning to users, and many mentors (myself included) discovered that calls were being recorded and processed by AI without explicit consent. Even more concerning, the feature remains enabled for mentors who have explicitly opted out. This raises serious questions about compliance and ethics.

The user interface suffers from numerous usability problems that make the platform frustrating to navigate. Additionally, there are profile fields (like gender information) that don't appear anywhere visible to mentees, making you wonder how this data is actually being used if it's not helping mentees find appropriate mentors.

The initial completely free model has created problematic dynamics in the tech workers community, as it contributed to the concerning trend of commoditizing expertise - sending the message that companies shouldn't invest in employee development when free mentorship is available elsewhere. While paid options now exist, they're not accessible to most mentors, and new mentors receive no recognition for experience gained elsewhere.

The entire platform appears to be inspired by the Silicon Valley "move fast, break things" mentality (with it being explicitly mentioned as a principle guiding the company). This approach can only lead to disaster, not just in software development generally (as we've unfortunately seen too often), but especially when applied to the deeply personal concept of one-on-one mentorship and relationship building. These relationships require trust, care, and thoughtful consideration, not rushed implementations and privacy violations.

I'm hoping for a different platform developed by more thoughtful people to eventually substitute this one. The professional development community deserves better.

Very Good UI/UX, but the mentors don't show up and actually, it's just a waste of time.

A disappointing organisation that doesn't have the interpersonal skills to manage Mentors that never show up. At the ned of the day, they would still support Mentors rather than mentees, ignoring their misconduct and not caring about the impact it has on a mentee, a person who needs the support here. Also, the booking calendar is limited to one session, you don't get a response from a mentor and then have to wait till the end of the session to book another session, which is a shame.

It's a wonderful organization for mentors and mentees. However, getting support from the organization can take weeks. Email support generally doesn't answer. Chat is fine for anything uncomplicated. Also, mentees don't have assurances when mentors don't show up. There don't seem to be any consequences either way. If ADPList increases organizational support and responsibility they could be great.
