Just want to say a massive thank you to Mark Sugarman who sold my property off market and managed to get above the asking price even though other agents told me it was less. I would highly recommend acorn as they are very professional

After using their service unsuccessfully I was contacted by a seller of a property I had previously fell in love with but had been told by agent William, that it had been sold separate from Acorn. The seller informed me the property was not sold but in fact very much available and that he had been informed by William that I did not want the property and had ignored calls and emails. William did this because he was pushing the seller to accept an offer 20 grand under the asking price which came from another Acorn client. The seller discovered the deceit when a man knocked on his door and informed him that Acorn was refusing him a viewing to the property.
I was ignored by William when I sent a confronting email, and the complaints staff member sent a very feeble sorry but not sorry because you should have put an offer in regardless email. I would advise Acorn to resolve this issue with the seller who has lost out on 20 grand and time waiting for another buyer while I have already exchanged elsewhere. I would also advise to keep better tabs on your staff to prevent acts of deceit for the gain of additional commission.

Avoid at all costs.

William at their Gravesend office withheld offers on a house I’m selling. I was selling two properties with this agent, and I got repaid by William, a convincing liar, advising me to sell to a buyer in a chain who was selling their house through Acorn but withholding an offer from a first time buyer for £19,000 more than the offer put forward.

He told me the first time buyer ignored his follow up calls, however voice recordings prove he told them we had sold to a private buyer. An absolute lie.

Acorns compliance manager, after my complaint, played down this devastating and costly experience stating

‘ I am sorry that William indicated to xxxxx that you had accepted a “private” offer. I have listened to the call and confirm that this was said. Neither William nor I have an explanation for this being said.’

‘ In summary to the above, I am satisfied that William believed that was acting in your best interests’

‘ I have made it clear to William that his communications must improve.’

So no point in making a complaint for them acting illegally.

I’d suggest avoid at all costs.

As you can see from their reply , when they verbally tell someone a lie to deter them from filling out their own offer form - they put the onus back on the third party for not being formal. - tricksters.

And William didn’t miscommunicate an offer I’d accepted- he made it up as there wasn’t one. They were still actively showing people the house for weeks after. He lied at the time of his phone call to someone making a verbal offer (clearly deterring them) shouldn’t Acorn be obliged to pass verbal offers on ?

William didn’t want the first time buyer submitting a ‘formal’ offer, he lied so he could sell two houses and get two commissions- plain and simple.

From the day I called in to view my just purchased property and through out the cycle of the transaction, Layton and the Acorn team were very helpful, knowledgable, present and proactive like I have never experienced before. Will definitely recommend using Acorn. Coming back again team!

Great experience with Acorn Dulwich. My flat was sold quickly following good marketing. The buyers solicitors dragged the sales process out but George was really on top of it - chasing them and prompting me when there were things we could try from sellers side to help move things along, drawing on experience and providing good advice. Would definitely use Acorn again!

While it's difficult to find reliable property agents in this day and age, I have had a good experience with Acorn. They helped me sell my property, and despite the complexities involved that delayed the sale, James Keen and George Liney were patient, prompt and persistent.

Jade's very professional attitude and feedback to any questions or problems that arose was both refreshing and reassuring.

The Service we have received from the Acorn staff at the Strood office has been fantastic through out on our Sale and purchase of our new home.

We had sold our house with another agency summer last year, that fell through after months of delays and messing around. We had met Acorn before and parents had recently sold with them with no issue, so we called and they agreed to take us. With the mortgage rates going crazy as we went to market so things were slow, then Christmas...even slower. January, they hit the ground running and arranged some viewings, we got an offer and things went from there. We needed a quick sale as our mortgage offer on our new house would expire and with the help of Louise we actually completed a week sooner than our deadline. It was tough and im sure Louise is pleased to see the back of me, but we are forever grateful to Acorn and Louise for all your efforts and hard work! Will use Acorn again and will recommend to everyone!

We have had a tricky time with Acorn. We moved between branches after not being happy with the poor service and communication levels. However after moving we had a brilliant relationship with Harrison White in Dulwich. His communication was excellent and he kept us up to date with viewings and feedback. Finding someone you can trust is key when selling your home and we felt we had this with Harrison.

We just completed and moved into our first property in Forest Hill and have been so impressed with Adam at Acorn Sydenham during the whole buying process. Adam was amazing from day one - arranging 5 viewings in an afternoon and even giving me a lift in between a couple of properties. He was friendly and amicable but also knowledgeable on the properties shown and if unaware of something, always jotted notes down to check and respond later. When we chose a favoured property he was very flexible when we wanted to arrange second and third viewings. Through the whole process he was always organised and very responsive, providing valuable guidance and advise where needed, communicating swiftly with the seller with any clarifications we needed. From initial interest all the way through to completion he really went above and beyond for us, making our buying experience very pleasant. I just wanted to let people know that Acorn in blackfen are very unprofessional!! Based on my personal experience with them. What they say and do are two different things. I told them not to value my property because it was going through court that they wasn't picked from the list which the solicitors and judge had arranged. I told two different people the manager and a lady that work there the same thing. They said not a problem we don't want to waste our time on a free valuation. We will cancel the appointment that my ex husband had made bearing in mind I live in this house.. What happens they did a valuation from the outside of my house even though they was told not to and said to me that they wont and its been cancelled.. please do not trust them they are liers.. because of their wrong choices they made. Me and my daughter may cost us losing our home.. very unprofessional
